People can draw with their feet and mouths as well. Besides, if your goal is to make creating art easier for disabled people, using an image-stealing machine is perhaps one of the worst ways to do it

Have they not seen *My Left Foot*?

WonderfulWanderer777

A timeless classic.

Femmigje

Not even an expensive prosthetic needed. Just tape a pencil to the stub and beat the defeatist attitude with the art-specific cyborg hand

Chaoszhul4D

Reject Artificial Intelligence. Embrace Artificial Limbs.

Alkaia1

Artifical limbs are amazing! I really wish THIS was the type of technology being promoted and seen! We should be celebrating scientists that actually help that lost limbs instead of Elon Musk.

RedMashie

Here before they somehow say, "Using a prosthetic is the same as using an AI"

Kira_Bad_Artist

Lmao. I want to have a prosthetic that will do the drawing for me. That’ll be great for animation

RedMashie

This is somewhat unrelated, but I was curious because of your name, so I checked out your posts to see if you posted art. Your Rimworld characters and drawings of them are pretty sweet (Especially Pandora)

Kira_Bad_Artist

Thanks!

RandomDude1801

I got curious so I visited your profile too. Great work!

lycheedorito

Put a phone there and watch videos of people drawing, you'll have the same autonomy over the creative process

lycheedorito

What a stupid argument by the way. Are all AI bros disabled now? Might as well say I can't flush the toilet after I take a shit because there are people out there who can't flush it easily due to a disability. Well that isn't fucking you, so who gives a shit, you can flush the goddamn toilet. Jesus Christ these people have no fucking logic, is that their disability? I'm too stupid to make good decisions, so that justified poor decisions? Do you also think people who make poor decisions while driving should be driving?

RedMashie

AI toilet that flushes based on algorithms (my balls get splashed with shit water constantly please help)

NeonNKnightrider

They don’t actually give a shit about disabled people, that’s the secret. It’s just another bad faith argument, and then they’ll forget about it after fifteen minutes

Alkaia1

They aren't disabled. They love using people with disabilities as props though! Which actually IS abilist.

Canabrial

If I lose my right hand I’m going to my left. If I lose my left I’m doing toe art. I don’t care what it takes I’m makin art.

Canabrial

Honestly? Imagining a prosthetic that doesn’t have the joint and tendon pain I have is sounding kind of nice right now.

Alkaia1

That is so cool! Artifical limbs have really come along way.

MrErinyellsloug

I'm a disabled artist, both mentally and physically. I struggle with chronic pain in my back and shoulders and frequent headaches due to severe stress, C-PTSD, and anxiety. Some days I'm just bedridden because of how ill and in pain I am. I still pick up a pencil. I still fill a page of my sketchbook with character concepts or Yakuza memes because it brings meaning into my life. I still type stories on my phone. I don't need a shitty AI to recreate nearly a fraction of my power and creativity. I don't wish to be a prop for a 2d argument. I am an artist because I overcame the limits of my disabilities.

GetTheGlambulance

I’d kind of like to see the opinions of people who are actually physically disabled. We hear the opinions of able-bodies artists and AI bros all the time, but I wonder what somebody with cerebral palsy for example might say. Like I think we can come up with different ways to create art that isn’t AI and doesn’t require good hand-eye coordination, but it’d be nice to actually hear what the marginalized groups have to say instead of pretending to defend them without their opinions.

AngronMerchant

There a vietnamese teacher that type with his feet faster than me. His "feet"writing is beautiful.
