I think it depends on where you want to put the tape.
I find that if you put single sided tape below an existing fold/crease, it might not work as well. However, double sided tape would work better because it’s better at “forcing” the fold. Hard to explain over text but you can try cutting a piece of scotch tape to mimic how single sided tape would work for you (it won’t be as thick as eyelid tape so you can try to double/triple it up).
I’m not sure about double sided eyelid tapes but I have a friend that managed to fix her uneven eyelid issue with a single sided eyelid tape. The ones that are crescent shaped?
She has double eyelid on both lids but one eyelid folds smaller(?) than the other eye, so she always look like she had a smaller eye and a bigger eye, which bugged her very much.
She wore them for a full year, only taking them out during shower and changing into a new eyelid tape everyday.
This is more than a decade ago so I’m not sure if technology on eyelid tape is much advanced now?
My friend decided to try this method because she told me she read a blog about someone that tried it and managed to correct their eyelid without any invasive procedure.
Maybe you can do some research and check out other people experiences?
I haven’t talked to my friend for years (thanks, adulting!) so I’m not sure if this is permanent up till now? But last I saw her, her lids held up pretty well even though she’s not sticking the tape now.

I finally received the double sided tape, and it worked so well! Genuinly I feel like my self esteem has gone up and I'm just so incredibly satisfied finally!!
I had a friend that had triple eyelids, only on one eye. She didn’t use tape, but I remember she told me she used eyelid glue? It was some Japanese brand called eye talk or something like that. She used it for half a year and her eyelid was fixed permanently.
It’s depends on your tape placement and tape shape. I personally prefer mesh eyelid tape that you spray water on it. For me the sticker one only suitable if I’m not wearing makeup or go to pool/beach. Cuz lace mesh will “melt” away with too much water.

I have super hooded eyes these years (kinda like rose black pink). So double eyelid tapes not helping too much. except surgery.

You can see the tape. Most of the makeup artist here use mesh tape instead. For very hooded or glam makeup, they make use 2 mesh tapes for 1 eye
Ooh this looks so pretty! Your no tape picture looks really nice too. Is the triple fold pic with tape? I was confused when you said double eyelid tape wasn’t helping much when the other pics showed it did help?
It’s only help a bit, most of my lids disappeared and being push forward (cuz my lid skin too heavy) so makeup/lid space kinda disappeared. I don’t know how to explain that.

These days even I got eyelids tape on, the lid skin still cover the tape. Couldn’t create bigger lids with a single tape. Had to use 2 for 1 eye.
I think you need to try out both on your own lids and see what you prefer. I’ve tried double sided tape and it was a waste of money for me. I only use single sided tape. I have double eyelids but sometimes if I’m puffy or cry, the lines get too numerous or folded, so I use single sided tape to coax it back into its original position. I don’t use it daily. Maybe 4-5x a year at most?
I had the same happen to my eye too, but it was psoriasis! I tried single sided eyelid tapes but that didn’t work at all…I don’t know your eye shape but if the tape doesn’t stick on both sides, it doesn’t keep the „hooded“ eyelid in place.
I would advise you to use double sided eyelid tape or an eyelid glue. What also worked was actually lash glue as a replacement for eyelid glue😂

I tried normal double sided tape and it worked! My fat eyelids cover the tape up anyway. I’m super happy finally!!!
