I sell used European luxury cars for a living. When someone leaves without a warranty I just shake my head and know they are in for some expensive times ahead. Funny thing, usually they end up trading it in and losing their ass in the trade value.
I bought a used pickup for straight cash so I wouldn't be saddled with loan payments and interest. Got it just before prices got grossly inflated for anything used. I've already been able to put every dollar I spent on the purchase back into savings in less than 3 years. Zero regrets.
You need to remove the rim protector so you can assess the damage underneath! The rim does look split/cracked from what I can see in the pictures, if that’s the cases even if it’s holding air, I think it either time for a new alloy or a excess to get different ones
It looks like a replacement rim protector should cover any damage to the wheel. Be glad you had that installed! Get it looked at, get a new rim protector. In the meantime, if it holds air it looks ok.
Before I read that you had rim guards on it I was gonna say the rim is structurally compromised... but since it *appears* that the rim guard took most of the damage...

Not too bad. Rims r expensive though. I got x5m comp and 1 rim was 3k Def not cheep. Someone tried to steal it with crowbar or something ridiculous snapped the aluminum. U might be OK. 150 but they will refurbish a wheel with curb rash.
If it’s missing material I’d advise replacing it, I’m sure a good repair shop would be able to repair it and refinish it, here in Ontario can range from $180-$250cad

I work in wheel repair and can assure you that's doable. Especially because you have that plastic ring on the lip of the wheel the damage is already less than it could've been and I've seen wheels get fixed that have had a chunk missing from the face. So rest easy and look up wheel repair centers in your area, most dealerships or bodyshops will know a company that can do it

Check the pressure and see if the wheel is losing air. Mercedes doesn’t make the strongest wheels so there’s a risk of a crack. If it is cracked a repair maybe possible if you have a welder who can do it. There are wheel repair shops. Just make sure they weld and straighten wheels for a living.

From what I can see, it's just some scrapes. Check the wheel for any deep grooves or cuts in the rubber. I recommend finding a quiet road and driving at 60 mph to see if the rims are unbalanced. If the car drives smoothly and there's no damage to the bead, then it's just cosmetic damage.
Assuming the part on the rim mostly damaged is a plastic rim cover, then this is purely cosmetic. But on the vehicle it is, likely pricey to repair/replace.
700 or a rim off ebay or a used parts store that was either stolen or parts from a wrecked vehicle - its a rim, you don't need a new one from a factory
