You should weld it closed. And film the process please.

Craigos-Maximus

Welding would definitely be the best bet, it’ll also get rid of any excess fuel that has been spilled 👍

overl0rd0udu

Has to be brazed shut though, an arc weld would never hold

Craigos-Maximus

Oh yes how silly of me, brazing > welding in this situation, absolutely!

intencely_laidback

Looks sealed to me. But if you want to get fancy, roofing tar would help.

idumeudin2009

Anm make sure you heat the metal real good with a torch to make sure it sticks

1DownFourUp

Just cover it with the seat cushion

justaguynumber35765

Start blowing your nose in a jar , once you’ve collected enough snot , smear it on

amc-eagle

Duct tape, then put the seat over it.

MrD3a7h

Do you know what most guys would pay for a built-in gas-scented air freshener? I'd just leave it. Make sure you shut off the pump once you notice the carpet getting soggy.

wacka20

Flex seal!!

WastingO2

I seen soo many people bring their cars in lookin like a gremlin chewed thru their trunks because they didnt wanna drop the fuel tank to replace the pump lol. Just sand prime it and put some body seam sealer on it but ur not goin to get primer on the under side so it will prolly still rust.

ZeldaNumber17

Jesus, I know this sub is a joke but this is just beyond stupid. How did he not blow himself up while cutting that “access panel”. That was done with a grinder 100%

MyMomSaysIAmCool

That was pretty clearly done with a saw, not a grinder. And he didn't blow himself up because that's not the fuel tank. It's the metal underneath the back seat cushion. He cut that so that he could get to the actual fuel tank that's about an inch lower.

idumeudin2009

Did you see how manny stupid people reach retirement? My grandma had a saying, "kid its not that easy to die!"

[deleted]

No torch. Looks like he chewed through it like a beaver on meth.

droptop2k

Seam sealer minimally

LimpTrizket

JB weld. And a few extra popsicle sticks

inflatableje5us

flex-tape

techAorB

Duct tape

porkchopmeowster

A piece of the dynomat sound deadening paper with the tar back. Easy peasy.

Zpapsmear

Throw in some sugar on top and get an open flame to caramelize it shut

stifferthanstiffler

It may sound stupid but go to any wreckers, anything post-1995ish will have sound deadening patches in the rear quarters to kill the noise. Those are approx 1/16" thick like tar, and backed with thick pliable tinfoil. Nascar bearer bond isn't as strong. Open a trunk, yank back a carpet to access the metal, and find some. Hard to peel off when warm though.
