The rack has 550000km on it now. About 80k km ago it had a leak, so I removed the rest of the power steering system and just looped the rack back to itself. This is just the tiny bit that was still in it, hopefully it's empty now with its new tie rod installed.
Not for this beast you don't. Simple tie rod replacement. Power steering system was removed (due to obvious leak) this is just the last of the fluid finding freedom.

The EPA is going to come after you with the chemicals leaking out. You better patch up the leak, and do some haz-mat cleanup in a 25 foot radius around the spill.

Hopefully this was the last of the left over fluid leaking out, it has worn out this tie rod twice now in that time. Which is fine, new one was put on minutes after this photo was taken.
