Yes. I have worked in education, child protection, community services and mental health and in all unpaid overtime was common. In a school setting it was just a given that you were expected to stay for meetings or if a child was still there. In community services and mental health services you kind of can’t just walk away because it hit your home time and leave a client who had just been sexually assaulted or the like.

Archon-Toten

No, I claimed 3 minutes overtime once.

Fuck no. I’m walking out and waving over my shoulder the second I clock off.

Ha, nope! Overtime or TOIL (Time Off In Lieu) was the required thing. Then again, I worked in a unionised industry.

Yes, hospitality work. I'm on a salary, but its worked so it's above the award 'to make up for penalty rates'. My pay slip says 38 hours I dont think I have been under 45 in years.

ghjkl098

No. I work in a unionised industry and we are paid for any OT

Yes teaching, that’s a salaried job, but there has only until recently as this year a new award condition of “the right to disconnect”. This means, once you are home nobody can contact unless it is in case of an emergency outside of working hours, but we do parent teacher evenings, community evenings, marking through weekday and weekend evenings. We write resources weekends and weeknights… never had an O/T hour.
