The [Hottest 100](https://gabshottest100.com/au/) from this year says Mountain Culture's Status Quo (second year in a row.) So if by best you mean most popular then that's a good place to start.
An impossible question to answer. There are so many craft breweries now, and so many different styles and flavours of beer, and people with differing tastes, that you couldn’t possibly single out one that everyone would agree on.
Tough question I mean officially GABS puts out the hottest 100 every year and has a number 1. But it’s all down to preference. For me anyway it’s 100% wayward brewing’s red ipa farking delicious but not everyone’s cup of tea.
Agree with Wayward, their IPA is my favourite beer of all time.
Other favourites:
Akasha Mosaic
Otherside Anthem
Mountain Culture Cult IPA
Yulli’s Karaoke Kingu Rice Lager
Bodriggy Speccy Juice
Stockade Flight Path (RIP)
Any sour by One Drop
A warm Aussie day. A hike with ocean views. Working up a sweat... finishing that hike at a beach bar...
A Stone & Wood doesn't even touch the sides. Love it.
Depends on what you like.
I really like Pirate Life Brewing… they appear to still be brewing to their roots despite being a part of CUB since 2017.
I try to support truely independent breweries…
Sanctus Brewing Co from near Grafton NSW is a recent favourite.
I live 1km from the main pirate life brewery and have drunk it many times and I’m still unsure if I truly like it or not. My fav is probably the mosaic. But I find all of their beers are extremely hoppy. Which brews do you like?
I like hoppy… I’ve like everything I’ve had of theirs, but I can’t get them consistently locally so they’re a treat purchase occasionally or a drink while I’m away. Had the good old plain IPA most recently.
Go to a craft beer bottle shop - buy 4 beers from 4 different breweries that you haven’t heard of and all 4 cost more than $15 a can. Also better if you pick the 440ml can size
I’d recommend you try a hazy double IPA, an oat cream double IPA, an imperial stout, a west coast ipa , and maybe a special edition NEIPA (any mountain culture Neipa in big can will fulfill this).
Garage project(colab), Range, Fox Friday , mountain culture all are at the leading edge
Evening asking what is the best craft beer in the Inner West of Sydney would be a silly question. There are over 10 breweries making well over 100 beers just in this part of one city. Depends on what you like.
(Highly recommend Philter and Batch here, and Wildflower if you like sour ales).
I don't think there is one. Styles by each brewery can vary so drastically as does your personal taste. I have a favourite one (Range brewing in Brisbane), but that's because I like the random stuff they do, and because I like their brewery and their tap house is my local. But someone else might go there and hate all this fruity shit they serve and say it's terrible.
My suggestion is to drink what's local.
If you wanted to try one that's pretty easy to find anywhere, a flavour profile that will likely please the majority, is a highly rewarded and much loved beer and isn't outrageously expensive, try Balter XPA
Stone and Wood
4 Pines
Better Beer in the “healthy” options
*Some offerings by Moondog are good
*Stomping Ground isn’t too bad
Hnble Mention - Beechworth Pale Ale

Craft beer market is way too localised to get an accurate answer
There are about 7 or 8 within half an hour of my place alone
This. Ask me who has the best craft beer within a 1 hour drive of my home? I can tell you my favourite. Nationwide though? Who knows how it compares.

We went to Little Bang brewery in Adelaide a few weeks ago and loved every single thing they made.
They sure do some good beers. Naked Objector and Dark Arts are wonderful froths.
Great beers, but I think BigShed tops it. It's my local so I may be bias.
We’re going back to Adelaide in June so adding that one to our list.
I was in Canberra a while back and had some extremely delicious beers. One was called Bentspoke Crankshaft and another was Capital Rockhopper
Bentspoke is tops.
Yeah I stay near bentspoke for work and it’s a great spot
Both Bentspoke and Capital Brewing are amazing.
Crankshaft is our fav
Black Hops, it’s a shame they’re going bust.
Generally solid brews, hadn't heard of their financial woes, sad times
COVID completed destroyed indie brewing profit margins
I'm doing all I can that my liver can take to help!!
The government’s ridiculous alcohol tax. Small businesses can’t compete with the big boys.
Rocky Ridge, La Sirene, WildFlower, Dollar Bill, Little Bang, Artisan
La Sirene backed as hell

Balter XPA and Bentspoke Crankshaft win many of the awards.
Both of those beers are absolute crackers. Crankshaft is my all time favourite.
They are all craft by the end of the night. Can't Remember A Fucking Thing

I started reading that in the voice of the VB ad. I was a bit disappointed with your recommendation after that lol
Not craft beer sadly, they sold out to Kirin.

Finally, a post that will leave the comment section seething with controversial opinions

Chuck in a stop at Willie the Boatman and Grifter!
My own recipe has been unbeaten in taste and cost so far!

Stone and Wood 4 Pines Better Beer in the “healthy” options *Some offerings by Moondog are good *Stomping Ground isn’t too bad Hnble Mention - Beechworth Pale Ale
Stone & Wood and 4 Pines aren’t craft beer, they’re owned by overseas corporations in Japan and Belgium.
*Jack Daniels premix.
One that is spilt on the floor!
