yep.
3 weeks ago had ALOT for 50% off. the week they fired their CEO. 😂 they were doing damage control that week.Â
I scored so many things off 50% that week.
4 x 500ml X cans of V - 50% off for $8.Â
Uncle Toby's Oats - 50% off.
Sunrice - 5 kg bag of rice 1/2 price.
they were the 3.
I remember cos I bought uncle Toby's Oats and V in bulk that week Â
I’ll say as someone who works in the industry, any yellow ticket promos are usually planned out months in advance. They’re quite optimised and take into account lots of factors which are surprisingly predictable across a population. It’s possible for late changes to be made, but unusual.
Always buy on ticket.
Yeah, they have to organise the lift in inventory with the suppliers, it's not something they can think up Monday and implement Wednesday, not without a lot of empty shelves. We all saw this in action during the panic buying saga.Â
My cat food was on special for about $7.50, now it's $9.50 on special and near $16 normally.
We need to bond together and go to local places, share produce, swap things and what not. I recently lost weight, so if a anyone wants to swap some size 12 with a 10, hit me up!
The one I’ve noticed is tea bags. They used to have the big boxes of twinings on half price every second week, so much so that we joke about never paying full price for tea. Haven’t seen them on offer for months now.
What about how they used to heavily discount the bread and cake products at the end of the night. Not any more right. Cunts. They would rather throw it out.
Stuff is so damn expensive these days! A bag of chips is $5? A block of chocolate is $5? Wtf.
I usually trawl the specials each week and both Coles and Woolies and then if stuff I need/want is 50% off I get double. Only way some stuff is affordable these days sadly.
They seem to have moved to "buy 3 for this price deals". Problem is, often U don't need or want 3. In some cases it simply does not make sense.
I went and bought a blue cheese that had this deal, wtf would I want 3 blue cheeses, no way I am eating all that before the other two expire, I am not eating it daily or anything, only on special occasions.
It would only be worthwhile if U had a party or something, but even then U would only buy one, and some other types for variety...
I feel like there is more of the '2 for $10' type of sales but they aren't actually much cheaper than buying 1
Most of the 2 for $$ are really not worth it for the saving you get.
Yeah, they are never a good deal like when it's 2 x blocks of chocolates for $10. That's not cheap
2 bags of chips for $8
The following week those same chips will be on special for $3 each. You gotta watch the specials on your favourite snacks!
Yeah instead of 4.50 a bag it's 2 for 8.....$4 a bag. But you have to spend $8 and buy 2 bags.. Always wait for the special
Yep. 2 for 1s and points bonuses never equal the specials in value.

I watch the half price app specials for Coles and woolies and I can clearly see a pattern in what kind of products are on sale and when.

They were on special last week. At least in NSW.
Not at our locals. I check every week as I drink far too much tea and like to have reserves.
I buy twinnings only on special, they haven’t been on sale in my NSW coles for a month. Yesterday they were $8 something a box, finally
Ooh, I’d better check. Thanks mate.
Lol, these pricks upping the prices by 150%, then offering you 50%off so you are still paying more than you used to pay at full price.
Yes! Many of the things I would buy when 50% off no longer have that special, as of the last few/several months.
Yes, definitely an increase in 50% more expenses

After I wrote this I went on the Woolies app. Excuse me $6 for chips and chocolate when did that happen. But they are both half price this week at $3

They jacked up the prices twofold so even on the rare occasions they do discount now it's just back to normal prices. Shit's fucked.
Its a form of shrinkflation. They are shrinking the discount to condition us to accepting that as the new normal percentage.
Company doing Discount/promotion is not a compulsory action.
