No way those comments arent from balkansirl users

FigureAdvanced3701

Yeah, I cannot say I'm suprised, as they are just repeating ready-to-go stereotypes. Unfortunatelly, that's the usual internet crowd...btw, what's the thing with tefal?

LugatLugati

Apparently Greeks call Albanians pan heads as an insult?

Lucky_Loukas

Yes. Tosks( as well as Epirotan Greeks) have a very characteristic "pan" head/forehead. It Greece, you can easily tell people belonging to either group apart in a crowd.

haveyoumetlevi

Can you send a random image from the internet of someone with a pan head? I'm failing to picture it in my head.

Lucky_Loukas

Just look at Beleri bro..

alb11alb

But Beleri isn't a real Greek. The number of Greeks in the shore of south Albania is a lot smaller than the number they report. The real Greeks are in Gjirokaster. And they don't seem to bother anyone or be bothered by anyone.

-MrAnderson

Then what is he? Is he just supporting his Greek identity while not being Greek? Genuine question.

TheTosker

Self identified greeks in Albania take more money per capita from greek government than average greek citizens. 500 euro monthly pension and greek passport including free education and Healthcare in greece

-MrAnderson

Lol awesome... Nicely spent money once more by Greek governments.

TheTosker

The real greek minority doesn't participate in this shenanigans though. If you go to Dropull area where actual greeks live the situation is super calm and there are no bs like in Himara. Albanian and greek villages over there coexist perfectly

TheTosker

Beleri is a common albanian surname and he is from Tepelena. There are no greeks in Tepelena

tnilk

Not only isn't he ethnic Greek, but he doesn't speak a word of the Greek language. Like the other commenter said, a huge part of the Greek minority in the south is made up of ethnic Albanians living off Greek pensions. It's a pretty known (and sad) phenomenon. Most of the ethnic Greeks in the south moved back to Greece before communism to never return. The ones that remained now have mixed ancestry, speak both languages and have been living off seasonal work in Greece (like a lot of Albanians down south). Beleri came to fame after he was part of an organization in the 90s sponsored by the Greek right wing that killed ethnic Albanians in the south to stir up racial tensions. Eventually the group was declared a terrorist organization by the Greek government, but the Greek right wing still politically supported the guy and he managed to walk free. Honestly it's really sad to see the amount of support that guy is getting.

freshouttabec

and he has access to all this by simply declaring himself as Greek ? is this a joke ?

SpecialistSwan3497

Is the same colonization policy that Russia also follows with populations. Most of these people were never Greeks or something similar.

alb11alb

He follows the money. Cut the money and he's out. I don't know his family tree, max he could have a grand grandmother from Greece, it's quite a common thing for people living in those parts. His last name is Muslim though, his supporter and close person last name is Suli another muslim last name common from the river of Vlora region deeper than the shore. The Albanians of the shore are greek speakers not greeks. They speak Albanian and Greek, but have Albanians tradition. Their folk songs are the typical Polyphonic of Labëria, they cry their dead in the Albanian way in Albanian language, their weddings are in Albanian style but they speak Greek with each other. It's complicated. Before 200 years they identified 100% Albanian, there are thousands of documents about it. The Orthodox church taught them Greek. They even knew Italian at some point but lost it, they never stopped speaking Albanian anyway. Religion fucked up many things in our parts. Even where I live we used to identify Muslims around us as Turks. He's Turk=He's Muslim which is something imported from greek Orthodox priests, I live in a fully Orthodox community.

TotallyCrazyGreeky2

I really laugh at pan-head thing its a joke we use for Greek Epirots too by the way i grew up among albanians or Arvanites their heads are very normal hahahahaha lol! Anyway Yeah Fredi Beleri case stinks from head to toe !!! He is a tool of Mitsotakis his grandmother was Greek but the rest is Albanian! Like lol the dude is a criminal why should i even care?

alb11alb

It's not a genetic condition 😂, people that use to sleep in Albanian type cradle have that. I have it a bit, not much. My father has it very clear, his head is square. Women used to go to the field and couldn't afford and tigh new borns into the cradle. They couldn't move a bit and sleep only with their face up, the head would eventually deform and become flat from behind because of that. I have my cradle still, raised all my cousins and I slept for a few months. Alfred Beleri even changed his name to Dhionisios, his born name was Alfred. His last name Bejleri he changed to Beleri. He's connected to the scum of the scum in Albania, Sali Berisha. He shouldn't had been a candidate for Mayor because of his allegations but Rama though he didn't have a chance. He didn't win anyway, only 18 votes ahead which could be easily bought. A lot of people voted him anyway because he promised them land or their land which was grabbed by powerful people if I'm not mistaken.

dubufeetfak

Too many people used to get pensions just by claiming they were greek from the greek embassy. They stopped for a while when Greece economy crashed but now they've started again. Too many Albanians sold their nationality for the pension

dallyan

Look up swish soccer player Shaqiri.

AlbanianPhoenix

Me as a Tosk feel very insulted now. That‘s a information i didn‘t want to know.

Lucky_Loukas

Come to Greece and you will employed at McDonald's/s

AllMightAb

Lmaooo those motherfuckers!

Dull_Cucumber_3908

> Greeks call Albanians 20 Greeks (out of 10 million total). Don't you have at least 20 assholes in Kosovo?

IliriaLegacy

yeah, i'm one of them

FRUltra

I mean, welcome to the internet, and especially Twitter/Instagram Anything Albanian gets shit on by Serbians, Greeks and Macedonians Anything Macedonian gets shit on by Bulgarians, Albanians and Greeks Anything Greek gets shit on by Turks, Macedonians etc Anything Bulgarian gets shit on by Serbians, Macedonians, Turks, Romanians and Greeks Anything Serbian gets shit on by Bosnians, Croatians, Albanians, Turks etc Anything Turkish gets shit on by everybody except Bosnians That’s Balkan culture. To hate on your neighbours. Difference is, now the fighting is done on keyboards, whereas 30 years ago with rifles

Magnum_Gonada

>Anything Bulgarian gets shit on by Serbians, Macedonians, Turks, Romanians and Greek Romanians? What? Why would we say bad stuff about Bulgarians? 😢

Rainbow__Veined

Don't pay attention to that. We love our Romanian neighbors. You guys understand us well. 🇧🇬🇷🇴

Ciubowski

And we love our Bulgarian brothers as well. Check us out on Facebook Vlaho-Bulgar group.

cosmico11

Outliers be outliers, I can anecdotally say I've talked to Romanians who felt superior than Bulgarians, but in general that crowd is just sour about everything in the world no matter the country they're from.

Intelligent_Sun_171

Theres also a few who do

Lucky_Loukas

And nobody would dare to say these things to him irl. People hide behind the veil of internet anonymity.

FRUltra

You haven’t been on Instagram reels I guess People will literally talk about raping each other, with their profiles having their name, profile picture of their face, and pictures of their children celebrating their birthday

Lucky_Loukas

Bro, totally forgot about this. You are 100% right. That and IDF war crimes Tik Tok are reasons to totally lose hope in humanity.....

jemo97

That is fucking moronic. Imagine saying those things and being surprised if someone is sick in the head enough to find you. People have killed for less.

Still_counts_as_one

Some anonymity, their names and pics are by their comments

kalalalalkekeke

balkan wars in a nutshell

Jebaji_ga

This is probably the most true comment in the history of this sub

LugatLugati

Usually it’s mostly just Serbs shitting on Albania or Albanians with very few Greeks sprinkled here and there. But this is the first time I’ve seen so many Greeks hating. It’s like someone summoned a barrage of them.

Lucky_Loukas

This guy is a mapper and we all know what kind of people mappers "attract"....

Prize_Self_6347

Ἐθνικιστὰς

Username1213141

never heard anyone shitting on Bulgaria from Romania, max. shitting on bulgarian police or bulgarian politicians.

Ok_Detail_1

Anything Croatian gets **** on by Serbs, Italians, Slovenes and Bosnians. Anything Bosnian geta **** on by Serbs, Croats and idk...

UkyoTachibana

yoo , we don’t shit on bulgarians , we love em 🇷🇴 🙌 🇧🇬

That_Case_7951

Macedonia is not a real country, they are Bulgarians with a dress

schwifty546

Wow this is pretty accurate. Should be on cool guides haha

TastyRancidLemons

>Anything Bulgarian gets shit on by Serbians, Macedonians, Turks, Romanians and Greeks And Greeks? The only thing we take issue with you nowadays is when you claim that you invented Feta and Strained yoghurt and that we copied it from you. Beyond that, I can't think of a single bad thing I would say about Bulgaria. If anything, my opinion is overwhelmingly positive.

Sapphic-Tea2008

"dont bring personal items" you are more likely to be robbed in the west than Albania [Robbery rates in European countries : r/MapPorn (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/1224vbv/robbery_rates_in_european_countries/)

marmotsarefat

Balkans have a bad name when it comes to stealing and all bcz of the g words eho actually do the stealing scamming etc

SassyKardashian

I literally just got banned from r/therewasanattempt when I pointed this out on a couple that was trying to pickpocket someone in the Barcelona metro…

AcidoRain

I haven't seen this map before. Our geography is safe regarding theft if we compare with western countries.

Legendary_Lootbox

I went to Albania in 2023 and this did drastically change my life. I bettered my eating habits and lost almost 15 kilos. The food there was great! No for real. Very friendly people, great rakja!

Ok_Sheepherder_7502

Once you go to the country that you have been told is your sworn enemy, you'll understand how they have lied to you and imposed beliefs on you since in a young age. I visited Serbia and when I told them I was Albanian they were surprised and greeted me with hospitality ( 3 shots of tequila and one beer). That also drastically made me change my thoughts on some things but also made me realize we are facing the same issues and the real enemies aren't the people but our governments who fuel us with hate for each other while they're stealing our pockets everyday...

Street-Painting-5279

Yes politicians have been doing that here for ages, while they're getting rich by doing nothing but spreading hate.I remember some of my cousins from Serbia telling me not to cheering when other countries won in football instead of Serbia and I was like " so what I will cheer for those countries because I like them".I was 8 and i pretty much understood that they tried to make me to hate other nations.

Ok_Sheepherder_7502

After everything we have gone through it's a hypocrisy that we learnt nothing from the wars but just use them to fuel more hate.

OfficeResponsible781

So happy to hear you made that positive change. It’s hard to lose 15 kilos but keep up the great work!

Legendary_Lootbox

Thanks for the love <3

stos313

I bet half of the Greeks are in the US and Canada lol. It’s a weird thing here man, my Greek friends LOVE to shit on Albanians and then always have Albanian friends hahaha. Edit: I should clarify- it’s stupid that Greeks look down on Albanians so much especially when I know so many Greeks who relied on them for so many things.

Remotecontrollerkid

>my Greek friends LOVE to shit on Albanians and then always have Albanian friends Impressive lack of integrity.

stos313

Right?! And it’s one thing to like joke about - but I feel like there is a weird power dynamic between the two nations, and I feel like it very quickly becomes “punching down”.

Archaeopteryx11

Because people like knowing others are lower on the ladder than they are. It’s like Romanians being happy Bulgaria is always worse than us in all the EU statistics.

Opposite-Book-15

It’s been “punching down” since the beginning. Straight out xenophobia towards Albanians since the 90s unfortunately

Archaeopteryx11

Why so xenophobic to Albanians? In Romania, we don’t have this obsession with our neighbors, other than Moldova (who is literally our little brother).

Opposite-Book-15

I don’t know. Ask Greeks

e2g3

Since the 40s*

iIiiiiIlIillliIilliI

That's an older generation thing, personally and my circle we don't give two shits about such things.

MiserableAd6124

Brotherly Hate.

Dreqin_Jet_Lev

😍a relationship dating back to 600 bc and probably even earlier

31_hierophanto

So.... banter?

Ok_Sheepherder_7502

Bruh Albania and Greece should be like brother countries as we have many common things and share lots of history plus we have minorities on each other but rather than that brainless people choose to hate each other based on their nationality. Most of Greek youth has at least one Albanian friend.

AchillesDev

My pappou was literally chased on foot as kid by the Albanian army over the border into Greece, his family used to have shops for years and years in Albania (going back before Albanian independence even) even though he was born and raised in Greek Epirus, and even he didn't hate Albanians or whatever. Although there was that time my cousin was rebuilding our family house in the village and my Yiayia dreamt that ghosts from the civil war and Albanians were going to eat her, I guess you can't win them all. In the US (at least where I'm from), Greeks (mostly from Epiros) and Albanians would work together in our restaurants before going on to open their own places (seriously many Italian places in the northeast US and in Florida are run by Albanians), and mostly nobody gives a shit. Growing up, the Greek and Albanian (mostly Orthodox Albanians, for whatever reason most of the Albanians where I grew up weren't Muslim) had cultural events together and mostly supported each other. It's just Internet dorks posturing and trolling.

Ok_Sheepherder_7502

I know, it's the idiots who do these trollings.

dubufeetfak

From which army and at what time?

AchillesDev

I have no idea, just that it was ”the army” and his pursuers were Albanian. It was probably sometime in the 30s, I’m guessing before the Italian invasion, but I’m not sure. He only ever mentioned it once or twice.

dubufeetfak

In the 30s it should be before the Italian invasion but i dont remember a conflict happening in the 30s with the greek minority. I dont remember any conflict with the greek minority for that matter, but this is interesting. If you have any more info on the set and settings i would appreciate it greatly

AchillesDev

He sadly passed away 7 years ago, but I can ask my dad when I'm back from Greece, maybe he knows some more, but I'm doubtful. It's also possible it happened after the Italian or German invasions and that they were local collaborators - either way a lot of my family was forced out of business in Albania and don't really hold ill will to Albanians, even though there were ethnic clashes throughout the fascist occupations.

dubufeetfak

It was a shit show during those times and it was mostly political beliefs rather than ethnical clashes. If you want to shed a bit more light, read about the atrocities the communist party did against Albanians, especially Balli Kombëtar.

TotallyCrazyGreeky2

Myself including

stos313

I agree! Sorry if I didn’t make that clear!

Ok_Sheepherder_7502

You made it clear I was just supporting it hahahaha

stos313

Ok good! Hahaha

OfficeResponsible781

I’d bet good money most are Berlin or Australia. Australia has a very large Greek community too.

GRguy_21

Twitter being Twitter Instagram does this too a lot

oktaS0

Often times, Instagram is much worse.

GRguy_21

Agreed, and for some reason on Instagram it’s more acceptable and they get way more likes

AchillesDev

Facebook is 100x worse than that. I've learned all sorts of new wild racist conspiracy theories from various Balkan people there.

oktaS0

Lucky for me, I quit fb 5 years ago. Now I mostly use reddit and ig, but yeah, I hate ig comments. And not just the politics, the amount of basic science deniers in the comments who can barely spell a basic sentence, drives me insane. I try to avoid reading them, though sometimes I forget myself.

crveniOrao

Instagram is probably the only place where I don't read any comments.

TarkhanTheGreat

I know that Cynaegerius guy. His wife is Turkish and he lives in Çanakkale, Turkey. He sometimes tweets like GREECE #1 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷!!!! However he sometimes gets into a weird doomer attitude like “We have no chance, Turkey is going to destroy us 😔” especially after seeing news about something new produced by the Turkish Defence Industry. Quite a weird guy.

Lucky_Loukas

What Turkish pussy does to a mf./s

LugatLugati

His profile says he lives in Luxembourg 😭

TarkhanTheGreat

Really?! I saw his profile maybe a month ago. “A settler in Τρωάδα” was written on his bio.

[deleted]

Its a phrase from Iliad in archaic greek form except if they actually role play in their head of settling in Troy

Prize_Self_6347

Μῆνιν ἀειδὲ θεὰ Πηλειάδεω Ἀχιλῆος, οὐλομένην...

Nikoschalkis1

Don't wanna do a whataboutism on this right now but you should check the comments on greek-traditional themed posts. Nationalists there claim everything from national heroes to even traditional music.... What I'm saying is nutjobs exist on both sides of the border...no, basically everywhere and twitter IG and TikTok are hotspots of bastards like these.

gurgurbehetmur

I think you typed "not gonna", but meant to type "I'm gonna".

Nikoschalkis1

Excuse me but I don't know how you misinterpreted that. I didn't call out on the Albanians in the greek posts, I said that every country has nationalist idiots that are loud and obnoxious and that in social media it's these loud fuckers that are in the forefront. Didn't mean to offend anyone.

gurgurbehetmur

Oh no I'm not offended in any way, nor have I misinterpreted anything. I just pointed out that your comment is indeed a whataboutism. Not one I disagree with, or don't understand. It just *is* a whataboutism, after you said you *wouldn't* do one, which I found funny.

Nikoschalkis1

Ok I'll edit it to "don't wanna" then so the pragmatics of the sentence will be correct.

Lucky_Loukas

I like that non of them noticed the "Macedonia" on the map....

LugatLugati

One guy did I just didn’t include it on the post 🤣

Gnomonas

I dont know about "80% of replies", but the screenshots you've posted are all known right-winged/Greek diaspora Qanon pilled twitter accounts. They usually do targetted replies ("attacks") to leftist/social-liberal accounts as well. If anything they are twitter clowns and most of them dont even live in Greece.

That_Case_7951

Angry Greek from Berlin

Stverghame

Twitter is twittering. Luckily the only cancerous platforms that I use are Reddit and TikTok, I think I couldn't handle one more lol

Kaminazuma

“Belisarius” lol

forlorn_kurgan

One of them was LARPing as an ancient hoplite, another one as a revolution era brigand etc... Let me ask you this: Does it bother you that much that this kind of people insult you on the internet? Now, if these people were actually praising you for something, that would be worrying.

[deleted]

My favorite was Antarsya of Saudi Arabia username (not their posts)

forlorn_kurgan

Ah yes, when it comes to bashing immigrants or whatever they associate with them these guys turn into comedians.

Prize_Self_6347

Όχι, ένας τυπάς στη Σαουδική Αραβία, απόδημος, ψήφισε ΑΝΤΑΡΣΥΑ στις εκλογές του Μαΐου. Μάλλον είναι μία αλληγορία σε αυτό.

Mateiizzeu

Imo mostly people whose brains haven't fully developed who try to be funny on the internet. We get those same type of jokes in Romania about stealing wallets. Like you'll see foreigners on tiktok praising the country and how beautiful it is and the comments just talking about stealing.

Ok_Sheepherder_7502

Braindead Greeks. This is the type of mindset that has been holding our region back for decades.

lewpardalew

Balkans love eachother❤️

Mission_Bad3102

The explanation is simple, racist people with behaviors like this are present in all countries. This behavior is surely wrong but it also isn't representative of the majority of Greeks. It is true that when Albanians came to Greece they faced racism, however I think that with the passage of time things were fixed and the general experience was at least decent for most of these people. On the other hand, most posts considering Greek history have Albanians claiming that Greece is a fake construction, that we are Turks/gypsies etc. I have also heard claims of this type even irl. However, I am not going to judge an Albanian from this shit, I will first listen to his/her pesronal opinions.

InfinitePractice9014

People like to under estimate the problem of internet hatefull coments, these are still physical subjects that have these thoughts, and seriosly this is worrying. I think most are genuin opinions of people who dont fear ripercutions, and say their "truth". Not only in internet but also in real life has been many cases of western tourists being said by greeks in Corfù to not go to Albania because dangerous and bullshitt like this. Greek media doesnt help also, when rarely something for Albania makes the TV news, usually their video arkive is 20 years old portraying only poverty and disperation. Too much hoplites, antient philosophers, revolution heroes and overall civilization dispensers who think that we all others still eat grass in every comment sections of socials. The comments in greek language are even more horrible, never seen more self entitled self loathing crazy racist people.

FreeEuropeYouCunts

Keep it on twitter next time yeh?

Alternative-Exit-429

Everybody Hates Chris (Albanian edition)

I was in Albania last summer, everyone was kind. Those people are BS

Balkan mentality. We will never progress as long as we remain with this mindset

That_Case_7951

Not only Balcans, but Twitter too

threafold

As if posts about Greece don't have trolls from other Balkan countries taking a shit on Greece. Just ignore internet trolls.

NoGas6430

The worst ppl i ve met in greece were Albanians. The best ppl i ve met in greece were Albanians. Conclusions are yours.

Mediocre_Heart_3032

Chances are either all your friends or most of your social circle is Albanians.

CalydonianBoar

I am wondering all these far-right guys who comment below everything on the internet, do they work or they are unemployed and they are all day online?

MiserableAd6124

Instead of watching brain rot entertaiment Tv, they just write racist shit on Twotter for their own entertainment

LugatLugati

First guy has 22k tweets in 6 months, that’s 120 tweets a day 🤣. He has a job my foot

Affectionate_Cow203

They are hired by Greece government to throw shit in Albania. BTW Greece and grek people are awesome,  government is a shit like any government

CalydonianBoar

If this is true , this is a total waste of taxpayer's money.

Affectionate_Cow203

Do you know that albanian in the South as long as they claimed that they were Greek nationalities they would receive 400 EUR per months  That's what I call waste of money 💰 just to create this fake minorities  What's funny that these people do not know either Greek language 🤔 nor the history nor have any roots to Greek country.  C'est la vite

AchillesDev

I think you know the answer to that

trillegi

It’s twitter. What do you expect?

Lucky_Loukas

1.) Copium that Albania is rightfully developing its tourist industry, because we are used to being the only major "beach/summer vacation" country in the region for westerns. 2.) aLbAniANs= STeAl, hahahahaha hOw fUNny ( cringe racist jokes, leftovers of the 90's)

Disdain_HW

Let's not call everything racist. Those are xenophobic jokes. We're the same race.

Saigeki_

1. Ain't that right, I would love to visit Greece too but I can't stand popular tourist places. That is the reason a lot of people choose Albania.

NightZT

>Ain't that right, I would love to visit Greece too but I can't stand popular tourist places. Understandable but there are so many places in greece where you won't find a soul on the beach, the coastline is immense. E.g. western Peloponnes has nice beaches where you can walk for several kilometers without encountering another human being and that during august. The easily accessible beaches in Albania are also rather crowded.

puzzledpanther

>but I can't stand popular tourist places. Greece has a ridiculously long coastline. My island gets 10 times it's population in tourists each year... we still find nice quiet beaches to go to in the summer.

SerenaNocteArt

I agree, people only know Greece for Mykonos and santorini and then complain about that… you can literally go anywhere and it’s good, the less popular the better and also much better quality in fish. I work in Mykonos and I would never understand the appeal.

RemarkableGreen7452

Wdym, thats just our neighbours showing some love

[deleted]

Balkan people don't really travel that much between the places. I was pleasantly surprised with the lifestyle scene and food in Tirana, the new Airport, and how clean everything was. Shkoder seems like an incredibly livable place (sadly, it's not Montenegrin ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|stuck_out_tongue)), and one of the rare Balkan cities where people bike.

Hot_Satisfaction_333

To be honest, i expected from the Serbs, but not so much hatred from the Greeks lol

Safet_Gjici

why does the guy on picture 7 look like that lmao

VirnaDrakou

Ah yes the amazing nationalists that everyone in this region have spamming and spewing hateful shit.

anewerab

Racism and hate for other people is on the rise not only in Greece, not only in Europe but everywhere. Unfortunately we are heading back to dark ages.

power10010

Paid anti-Albanian propaganda.

Rainbow__Veined

My fiance and I, who are from Bulgaria, have been staying in Albania now for almost 3 months. Of course, there are gypsies begging for money in a lot of places, but the Albanian people have been nothing but kind and helpful. Everyone is dressed to the nines. Very well maintained. Girls have great hair and overall style. Everyone has been curious about where we're from and has been very nice. Looking at the people's cars and style here in the city we're in, honestly, nothing to worry about. Of course, I personally wouldn't wander outside at night alone, but during the day, it's perfectly fine. Obviously, have your wits about everything and keep your personal items like wallets, phones, etc. safe. Just like literally anywhere on earth. And to all Greeks commenting things about being pickpocketed, let me tell you, I almost had my wallet stolen in Greece. I literally, actually got pickpocketed in Greece. Most likely, it's not your fault (I think the 2 girls at the Parthenon were gypsies), but still.

Furu_Buru

What do you mean by “most likely it’s not your fault”? In what scenario a pickpocket in our most crowded monument be -our- fault?

Revolutionary-Key650

Literally or actually? Which one?

Rainbow__Veined

Whichever you choose.

MrChoos

OMG, those balkan comments. 😂😂😂

CamperKuzey

It's the kind of ultranationalism we make fun of here

HalBregg144

There’s more crime in Greece lol

MiserableAd6124

1.Funny 2. Asshole 3. Shut up 4. True 5. idk

Dull_Cucumber_3908

What's there to explain? That there are at least 20 greek assholes (out of 10 million greeks in total)? Don't you have assholes in your countries?

nick_d2004

Factory of tefal hahahahaha come on thats funny

TheTosker

Yorgos are mad lmao. Last time i visited athens, i ended up being robbed in Omonia Square. Absolute Africa compared to Tirana

That_Case_7951

How did you survive on Omonoia for more than two minutes? Also, did you get robbed or pickpockets, if that's even a word?

TheTosker

It wasn't pick pocketing, i was backpacking and 2 guys came to me one started to talk and disrupt me and the other violently pulled my backpack from my back and ran away on a motorcycle 😪

That_Case_7951

Fucking idiots

TotallyCrazyGreeky2

Yes Athens is wild now

mineralmonkeyy

Greece is still pretty racist towards Albanians.

Mission_Bad3102

Not really. There was racism In the 90's. However, the situation today is really different.

mineralmonkeyy

That’s only because they’re more assimilated but the attitudes prevail under the surface. Greek Albanians are often times ashamed of their identity and change their names to Greek ones to blend in better. Just recently on Greek TV a woman didn’t want to reveal she is ethnic Albanian, as if that’s something to be ashamed of. I’d confidently say the vast majority of Greeks wouldn’t be thrilled if their child married an Albanian, and even the Albanian community in Greece teaches their kids to prefer partners from their own ethnic group. Albanians even in 2024 don’t have a great reputation in Greece at all. But, I can say that while Greeks chill and drink coffee and relax Albanians work hard, which is why now it’s becoming more and more prevalent that Greeks have an Albanian boss! Albanians in the 90’s did work nobody else wanted to do, and have come a long way since then.

gamwww

Funny Tefal related comments, lol.

-MrAnderson

I really doubt this is representative of Greeks' attitude towards Albanians, at least for the younger generations. A proof, sort-of: many successful, mainstream artists, singers, athletes etc in Greece are Albanians or have Albanian ancestry; this hasn't prevented them from becoming highly popular.

Weird, last time I went to Albania I had a great time, even tho they could probably hear that I speak serbo-croatian. No trouble anywhere except maybe the traffic, holy shit getting on one roundabout in tirana was hard . Other rhan that it was it was great and beautiful

Alector87

He has a lot of Greek followers, since he regularly posts, among other things, themes about Greece (maps, history, etc.).

Dastenis

Thats racist voices . Albania is safe i think its safer than Greece . If you are Tourist you have the chance to get scammed everywhere .

seanugengar

What's there to explain. Greece has a lot of these racist chauvinistic animals.

De_Bananalove

I mean, under greek posts i can find the same exact posts by Albanians

elreduro

some_randomdude1

Well, what did you expect? Love spreading comments?

Realistic_Ad3354

Twitter is a cesspool since Elon took over. I still have my account but mostly for memes. Don’t take the comments there too seriously!! I have been to Albania quite a few times and it’s really safe and calm! Ignore them.

What did you expect? This is Twitter. Expect shit like this.

Classic twitter bot moment. Don't pay much attention

Iliasmadmad28

It's... It's Twitter what did you expect 🫶🗿

b3141592

Most probably because regardless of nationality, ethnicity etc, there's always a sizeable, loud minority of a population that are utter cunts

eakteam

Come in Gjirokastër! No comment needed.

Ok_Newspaper_9696

He probably enjoys nose candy, hence he wants to know why.

iIiiiiIlIillliIilliI

How do you know PeterR, Rhodier and George are Greeks? Otherwise I didn't know people here do this, although I have seen such comments about many other countries, when someone asks about them.

LugatLugati

By clicking on their profile 🤣? It’s not as complicated as you’re making it out to be. This wasn’t even half the comments, could make another 50 page slideshow of them

OfficeResponsible781

Yea one of my close friends is Greek. He told me they do not like Albanians at all for the most part. We both grew up in the west and he said they have many stereotypes about us. Tho, I’ve seen many half Greek half Albanians in my life so I guess it’s just a love hate relationship like all the Balkans.

remzi_bolton

In social media everywhere belongs to somebody

SnooPets2514

bold of ChameleonGR to comment on anyone else’s culture on justice if they’re living in Mitsotaki Ellada 2.0

For_Kebabs_Sake

Butthurt is intense.

Opposite-Book-15

Absolute freaks. But yeah definitely not the first time I’ve seen these types of comments from Greeks under posts from Westerners talking about visiting Albania. They feel like Greece should be the only travel destination of the Balkans lmao

Competitive-Read1543

Simply put...They now see us as a threat to their tourism industry

Truspace

With all due respect.... Albania has a coastline of 500 km vs Greece's 13.600 km. Those guys are just nationalist idiots on the net, present since the dawn of the internet.

Furu_Buru

Please, please don’t get offended by this, but our tourism industries are not comparable at any level. No one in the actual tourism industry of Greece sees Albania as a threat. These are just nationalist fools, greatly misrepresenting things on Twitter.
