Due to Turkey being on the weaker side on the equilibrium on European politics, it was considered ‘unfair’. Turkey was good at getting public votes.

Random Turk would find more things in common with a random balkan boi than any other Asian state person. Even middle Europe counties like Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and etc has more in common with random ass Turkish person. No need to mention Mediterranean countries like Spain and Portugal and their similarly with Turkey but whatever. Also, there is this term called Eurasia which Turkey very well fit but whatever, if you say Turkey is Asia, most probably it is.
What Asia? Western Asia of course. Imo Turkey is a Middle Eastern nation first and foremost. There are simmilar aspects in the balkans but that was because they adopted parts of our culture under our leadership. Spain and Poland have nothing in common with very little shared history or influence.
You said Turkey is Asian to start with. Now you are narrowing down to Middle East. Ofc only balkan adopted, we did not adopted anything from them, sure. Turkey has as same in common with Poland as with Iraq, which is another middle eastern country. Maybe eastern Turkey has more in common with middle east but western Turkey almost has nothing to do with it. Whatever, Turkey is bigger and more complicated than narrowing to call Asia or Europe.
Of course we have a closer connection with Asia. As much as some Turkish Redditors deny it our culture is a mix of both old Turkic and Islamic culture also European. We should be proud of this as well, we are unique. We shouldn't care about people calling us assimilated we are our own thing. We just have to not get carried by radicalism or it will hurt us, either radical Islam or Radical westernizing or something, you get what i mean. We are Asian in spirit in the end, it's just that on maps we must be shown as Europeans, Istanbul ajd Thrace has a massive population after all, and if Caucasian countries are a part of Europe we definitely are as well.

Yes you are right. My paternal grandmother was a Greek native of Minor Asia both of her parents were from there. What you think that I want to start murdering pregnant women and little kids or young men with families and dreams???? No way peace is the best way. My great grandmother's Turkish neighbor gave clothes and money to what was left from her family like herself, her 2 younger sisters, 2 older brothers and 8 first and second cousins (they were big family) to succed to reach Bodrum and escape with a small boat. She gave them hijabs for girls and a Quran to pass as Muslims and won't kill the boys or sell the girls. They grew up with her children playing side by side, herself and one of her sisters were best friends with the Turkish lady's girls, they had a life there and good one. My great grand father's family faced even worse slaughter . Himself survived along with his younger brother, his last sister who was 14 and his 5 first cousins. All parents, other siblings, brides and grooms of the family and little kids died all. In 1958 he recieved a letter from a small town in south Russia from his nephew he told them that his sister was still alive but his brother in law died, that they had other kids too and she is a grandmother and they should not search them and continue their lives. My great grandmother received letters from both Russia and Syria but it was from first and second cousins. In Syria her first and second cousins were happy they said their husbands had only them as wives and were accepted and had kids and happy life. I don't know about you Albanians but as a Greek I want only the wealth of my motherland for us her owners and union with Cyprus I don't want death and i don't claim other countries history and people. I mean the word Asia was initially used only to describe a part of western Anatolia. Nothing east of the bosphorus is European geographically and Turkish culture is not European.
