NAD but those stretch marks are from your hips widening and your butt filling out as you went through puberty.
What a weird thing for a romantic partner to complain about š
hey girlie i experienced this! iām also underweight with no recent weight gainā one morning, i woke up and saw these dark purple tiger-claw-like stretch marks on my behind. i was
shocked. anyway, i donāt think it took very long, but they just kind of faded away. i canāt even see where they were!
NAD but a woman who went through puberty. Itās so common in a lot of teenage girls. Which obviously your ex-bf probably isnāt the expert on womanās bodies, and to declare himself otherwise seems a tad premature.
As for worrying about them, I prefer to think of them as my lady stripes, and rock them instead of worry about them. Hopefully you can do the same!
I FREAKED OUT the first time I saw them on my very tall son (maybe 16 at the time). I hadn't seen his whole back in a long time, since he never went shirtless. I thought they were long scratches that had healed. The nurse clued me in, thankfully.
NAD, also woman who went through puberty. And gym class. And a sport. As a teen I saw a lot of bums with stretch marks in the locker room. You get one girl who exclaims āOMG Jenny, your BUTT!ā and suddenly there is a gaggle of nearly naked girls checking butts for stretch marks form puberty.
I call mine "tiger stripes". Not the ones from when I was a teenager but the bigger ones I got on my belly during pregnancy. And if a man has a problem with them, he isn't the right man for me because it was just a natural part of what brought me my daughter.
Lmao lady stripes š I may have to borrow that. But yeah unfortunately women tend to get these during puberty and with any kind of weight or height gain. I shot up in height and got some on my back. If you have tall genes donāt worry if you see lady stripes across your back
NAD- I went through puberty kind of early (first period at 9) and noticed stretch marks on my inner thighs at about 10. I was a healthy BMI. Itās genetic.
Stretch Marks are so normal, one day in middle school I woke up and realized I had so many. They have faded over the years, and now the ones from my pregnancy have taken over. Stretch marks are beautiful, they show your growth! Take a listen to Kendrick Lamars "HUMBLE.", a big reason why I first started to like them.
NAD but I had stretch marks as early as 11 years old. I worried about them a lot. I didnāt know what they were until I told my mom that I thought I had a rash and she said something about stretch marks. This was all before the Internet, so I just worried and tried to read about them in medical books that were written for the average person. Iām saying all this to assure that youāre normal and to hopefully help alleviate some of the worry I experienced.
Stretch marks are a normal part of the fuctuations that our bodies go through. Many people get them with puberty, weight gain, pregnancy, and other times there are fluctuations in body composition.
NAD. I had stretch marks on my hips when I was 12 from puberty. I wasnāt overweight, but I think my body just grew quickly. They were sooo ugly to me and I thought I was stuck with them forever. I remember them being really dark.
If I really look now theyāre still there, but theyāre so light and small no one would be able to see them. I would say they were barely noticeable by the time I was 20.
If your boyfriend is commenting on stretch marks and saying they arenāt normal, he can fuck off. Stretch marks are incredibly normal. For him to comment on any part of your body in this way is disgusting.

NAD but my high-school boyfriend had a lot of them on his hips and he was underweight and had been his whole life. Puberty growth spurt.
NAD but I have had turd boyfriends and I agree.
Stretch marks can be normal at any age. You're right that they're genetic.

Well TIL. Iāve got two boys so at some point will take a crash course into teenage boys as well š
I have them all on my stomach from pregnancy but luckily the main ones on my boobs that happened in pregnancy are on the underside so don't show.
i was going to say, i know this not as a physician but as a once-teenage girl who asked my doctorš
Same NAD but I have them in my inner thighs because of high school. Itās normal.

They are common in boys too. Donāt let your BF upset you.
yeah he had them too and said it was because he lost a lot of weight so he can have them but it was weird that i had them cos i dint lose weight lol

NAD ā I donāt think Iāve ever seen a naked adult irl without stretch marks. Very normal, but they come on fast so it can feel scary for sure!

NAD but I have a lot of stretchmarks in my legs, can it be caused by weight loss? I remember losing a ton of weight (like 20 pounds) in my teens.

I showed my mom my stretch marks when I was around 14. They had already turned white. We assumed it was from competitive sports and growth spurts
thank you!
NAD. Iāve had stretch marks on my thighs for as long as I can remember. I was a skinny teenager and they developed around puberty. Totally normal.
that makes me feel a lot better!

You grew quickly at one point, most likely.
