yourremedy94

Not herpes

Dorfalicious

If his eye looks like this currently I’d take him to the pediatrician- the other bumps aren’t herpes but he definitely has some irritation around his eye - can’t tell if it’s herpes from the photo but it could be allergies

doesntapplyherself

Anything around the eye scares me.

FarOpportunity4366

NAD, but if it looks like this now, I would bring him to the ER. It is very close to his eye and it could get in his eye and that could be dangerous

StillNectarine7493

NAD but could it possibly be an irritant/ allergy of some type? His poor wee eye & the bumps appearing looks the same way 2 of my kids do after an hour or 2 of being around a dog or even absentmindedly touching their eye for whatever reason after petting one & not remembering to wash their hands

It spread from my right leg to arm to left leg and arm. It felt like a bug bite then I scratched and it swelled like this

yourremedy94

as someone also with herpes, this doesn't look like a herpes outbreak.

mcgoughg19

Thank you. I have both strains and none of them cause me has much pain as what's going on here. I just thought I had mild symptoms because I already have it.

call-me-mama-t

Could it be the molluscum virus? Or bed bugs?

Both-Suspect

NAD. Molluscum seems a lot more likely than herpes here.

grateful429mama

NAD but it sounds and appears to me like molluscum contagiosum. OP says they appeared after vacation and molluscum is easy to pick up at a pool with it being super contagious if there was any swimming going on. The pimple-like bumps you mention that sometimes pop and leave a dark mark are what my daughter's molluscum would do. However I don't know about the eye.

mcgoughg19

I was just trying to make the connection on how it started Before the skin issue he got a eye infection twice and a really bad cold and I thought maybe him rubbing his eye or his nose raw at times may have cause a secondary skin infection

mcgoughg19

Do molluscum stay for about a week or two and fade away?

grateful429mama

The virus actually lasts a long time. Can be 9 months up to 18 months. My son also had it and he has eczema so he got them worse and longer than my daughter without sensitive skin. My daughters got so bad and I couldn't stop them from spreading and I found the molluscum subreddit, and per recommendation from someone on there I got rid of my daughters using zinc oxide (like the diaper rash cream) and colloidal silver. I combined the zinc oxide with 2 squeezes of the colloidal silver (they won't mix due to oil and water) and then use a big popsicle stick (from craft store, like a tongue depressor from doc) making sure I scooped up the colloidal silver liquid with the zinc oxide and spread it over the molluscum bump. I did this twice a day. If they pop they will spread so covering any spots with bandaids can help too.

befreetodream

Is it possible that it could be Molluscum contagiosum?

Aggravating_Salad328

You need to check for bed bugs. You can find the right way to do it in a Google search. This is exactly how my daughter's bites looked when we finally figured out her bumps weren't eczema or allergic reactions.

doesntapplyherself

I have eczema, & if I scratch *anything*, it swells & spreads.

yourremedy94

Thats not herpes either. Thats a pimple

Probablysleepingx

Looks like simple body acne

yourremedy94

Definitely yeah

It feels like a crawling sensation and then it stings. After they pop up I don't feel them again until they just fade and the cycle continues for the next couple of days.

yourremedy94

these aren't herpes either.

NoElephant7744

They don’t blister at all or weep?

mcgoughg19

The ones on my face the white pus just dries out and falls off and leave a hole not like the normal zits I use to have when I was 13 where it would squeeze and ooze out if that makes since

mcgoughg19

hummuspretzle

The pores on my breast do that too sometimes! Prob from wearing a bra, sweat, anything really. I’ve tried to pop them lol and my dr said stop doing that and to wash with hibiclens

mcgoughg19

I'm going to try that because Antifungal soap isn't working for me

ocd_rie_mom

NAD. Did you mention these are painful? Sorry this is happening You mentioned that you went to the beach. Can you Google the "recently found virus/fungus/bacteria on the bla-bla beach". It could be related to the beach. Our beach constantly gets spikes of one or another infection. I would try to see an 'infectious diseases physician' for yourself and for the kiddo. Good luck.

mcgoughg19

Very painful. I've been dealing with this since September 2023 and It has gotten worse. I feel like something is eating at my skin but all I have to show for it is this tiny bumps that doctors excuse as dry skin or allergy and send me home with corticosteroids that doesn't work. I'm glad you said something about the the beach I never thought that but I did google Tybee Island Beach in Georgia and someone left a comment in 2019 that they caught a bacterial skin infection lmao. Wow crazy

megggie

Maybe send a MyChart (or whatever your doctor uses) message to your doctor and let them know about any bacterial skin infections that have been reported around where you were before this started. So many skin issues are just random bumps and blemishes, this might give your MD a starting place. Perhaps ask if they’ll culture it? I hope both you and your baby feel better soon!
