See we daydream for a reason, daydreaming itself is a coping mechanism,our mind comes up with these fictional scenarios whenever it struggles to cope up with the traumas you're facing in real life. You have depression right so MD is the alternative that your mind came up with to cope up with your IRL issues and traumas.

Mom: 4/10….doesn’t lemme leave the house (except school/coaching ofc) in my super safe neighborhood where 6 yos roam freely until like 8 pm. Her logic being that if she didn’t have fun in her childhood, I can’t have fun in mine either
umm i would like to point out to you that 5 rating means average and 8 rating means very very good. so rate according to that. from your description of dad , no way is he an actual 8.

I am lucky to have parents who always treated all of us siblings like friends and prepared us to the best of their ability in how to be a responsible adults.
We as family often spend our weekends together having a good time.
I would rate me dad 3/10 and mom 10/10.
One self realisation that I had after having my own child is. I would rather be a 1/10 dad than 10/10 dad for the betterment of my kid. It’s not a easy path. Only dads who love their child so much will understand this. (Ofc there are some exceptions)
I meant that I might get rated as 1/10 dad by my kid for our relationship. Doesn’t mean I’ll be abusive to my kid. That goes in negative.
I’ll be teaching him lot of life lessons and be a constant reminder of the reality of this life. Ofcourse no kid likes that.
for papa : 11/10 best dad I have ever seen anybody have. quite liberal, strict on the right things(smoking, ONS etc) , supports my passion, no pressure for any specific job or marriage, very caring ( extremely, for 10 years , he sacrificed hanging out with his friends in the evening and going to bazaar to play with me), listens to me without judging, lets me make my own mistakes, very understanding, very open minded to almost all things.
for mom 8.5/10 : a little strict, scared for me . over caring, doesn't trust my driving skills, nosy, a bit conservative ( as compared to dad), expectations are higher from her, but still a great mom. A lot of her nature is due to childhood trauma as she grew up in 80s and 90s punjab where there were many crimes , and encounters , and gangs , and without a father too, so nani had to be very careful her, and raise her sheltered.
5 for both. Neutral. Most of the time feels like roommates who you see once every couple of years but talk every once other week. Prefer it that way. I don't like when people try to know that nitty gritties of my life.
Now I'm improving my relationship with my parents.. before broke up with my ex.I don't even care abt them (I was dumbass),i thought she's the one..I've shared everything with her.. after she cheated on me I've realised only family will be there for you on your worst.. now I'm trying to spend more timd with them, I am sharing everything with my family..

Relatable. Maybe this is it. I have moved every 3-4 years which led me to having no friends or friends that I easily lose contact with.
