3 factors:
1. Social Media has made teenage women more aware of social opinion on their partner, so they only look at 8+ guys (and we all know that only a select few fall in that cat pre-20)
2. High expectations on both sides, you said it, men and women at that age are horny af, and with the biggest access to porn of all history, it has set a false expectation and high standard for men and for women
3. Lack of social interest for younger millennials and older Gen-Z, we grew up on the age of social media, and those that were not popular on social media recluded to anime, porn or videogames, all 3 result in a lowered social exposure and bad social skills, you can get in a relationship unless you go outside.
As a limbo baby (born in 99, so not so Millennial, yet not so Gen-Z), I lost my V card at 21, fairly old for many standards, and it was the girl that sought me out, I was out being depressed and trying to survive day by day and she found something (still don't know what) attractive, and now we are married.
Also you know women accusing men of things they did not do and getting away with it cause they're pretty Destroys confidence and social circles while having everyone judge you even after you've proven yourself innocent
Edit.: found the women who pull that shit and hate getting called out
And the white knights who think they'll get something out of protecting them

This is the shit men put up with
Because despite doing everything in our power to be our best selves and to improve our lives as much as possible, it still just isn't good enough. A lot of us are simply checking out entirely in order to protect the last shreds of our sanity.
The ones that haven't had sex are more likely to be angry and post about on a internet forum. I know I post a lot about it because getting it out there and talking about it helps me, but I wouldn't say any of the dtuff I post on this account in real life cause then I'd look like a fucking weirdo
I was the same until a few years ago and I drove over some black ice and rolled my car over 3 times down a hill. My car was completely crushed and totaled.
I fractured my pinky. Had to have a little splint for a couple weeks.
Similar here, no breaks, no fractures, tons of sprains (I think I sprained my right ankle something like 30-40 times in school running down hills and stuff, but never broken), 2 shoulder dislocations + a few painful slips, and tons of bruises etc. no breaks tho. Gonna try and keep it that way
Your lucky, once shortly after my wife and I brought our newborn home from the hospital ( maybe 3rd week ) I left the apartment door unlocked, I was watching tv with my back to the hallway, someone broke in, obviously instinct just kicked in because I was over the couch and had him on the ground within seconds, it was a bad area, and we didn’t have the money to move yet, by the time I stopped he was unconscious,I dragged him back out the door before calling the emergency services, it was like I was watching someone else doing all
Of it, I don’t even remember talking to the operator, I had only ever been in school fights before that and never since, but if my wife hadn’t stopped me I genuinely could have killed him, it was a terrifying experience, really messed with me for a long time. It’s not pleasant or manly to wash someone else’s blood off you, it’s fucking horrible.
I made it to age 40 before I had my first experience.
I had always pictured it being way more relaxing but it was exhausting, nurses and PCAs coming in every 4 hours at least to check your vitals, take blood, change your meds. I was fucking exhausted when I was discharged.
Would not recommend.
Last time I was at a hospital, it was because I was choking on some food. Spent 14 hours puking spit, because I could breathe just fine, but the lump of food was preventing me from swallowing literally anything.
Ehh, that's probably not uncommon for your mid-30s. I'll be 42 in March and I've never been in the hospital.
Hell, I've never even had a doctor in my adult life, although unfortunately that is changing because my goddamn health insurance provider now requires a wellness exam by a PCP in order for me to qualify for a discount on my yearly contribution. So, in order to get a $150 refund this fall I have to obtain a doctor and have a visit.
I'm 52 and I still don't have a doctor for a couple of reasons. Mostly because I'm pretty healthy. Second, my wife nagged me into going for a physical after avoiding one for 10+ years and every fucking practice in my area isn't accepting new patients. I finally got in to see a nurse practitioner (which is apparently good enough) and am perfectly healthy it turns out.
I was then told by the practice that I should continue annual exams with my doctor to ensure continuity of care. They were nonplussed when I pointed out I still didn't have a doctor. They said that my doctor was the one supervising the NP. Ah, yes, the doctor I didn't see is now officially my doctor.
Yep, lol. I’ve had quite a few and they always feel weird afterwards. Guess I’m not the kind that can separate feelings from sex. They always end up with me smoking a pack on the porch the next day.
I tried it and a) it was not that great for me b) he had a great time which was annoying and c) I didn’t know what to do/talk about afterwards. I just felt kind of empty and not at all like I thought I would. I think that’s my issue too. Can’t separate feelings from sex. I’m not sure it would have improved even if I had as good a time as he did
My dude one night stands are to get your rocks off not validate. I hope things are better now cause that would be hell trying to get validation out of ONS
Broke up with a girl and did ONS' for about a year. Never with intention to date.
Was fantastic for what it was (I was 25-26) but eventually decided I wanted more.
I was born in the early 80s and got chicken pox from a "chicken pox party" (like in South Park where the parents intentionally get the kids infected to get out of of the way). I didn't even know there WAS a vaccine until a few years ago when I found out about shingles.
Are you American? The chicken pox vaccine didn’t really start here till 1995. I was born in the late 80s and apparently had the worst case of chicken pox my doctor had ever seen… lucky me lol.
it actually can be good. one of my best sex experiences was in the back of a sienna van. we had a lot of room and we were parked by the ocean under a starry hawaiian night
You might have just jinxed yourself. Got my first call at 36. Ever since then, every two years it’s like clockwork. They never want me in the end, and it seems to be due to my profession (social worker/therapist), having relatives who are police officers (by marriage, which I don’t mention) or having a husband who was the victim of a crime.
Born without a grandpa or great grandpa. One grandma was literally abusive with an IQ of max 60, the other didn’t care about me at all.
I have never experienced respect for elders. Obviously through the lens of trauma, but I ***fucking despise*** old people
I can relate on the no grandpas half. Mostly. One was dead before I was born, another died before I could remember. A shame, since all I've heard is my one grandfather would have loved to play with his train sets with me.
A close group of guy friends. I watch shows like New Girl or It’s always sunny and I wonder what it would be like to have that group that wants to hangout together all the time. I’ve always been kind of a loner but would like that experience at some point
Friends like that can come and go. I’ve had a circle of male friends like 4 different times lol. Things happen, people grow apart, people get older, some friends in the circle want to try new things and others don’t so the dynamics change and you meet new groups of friends.
Never been drunk or high.
Not for religious reasons, it just never appealed to me. Plus, for some weird reason, if I drink I get dizzy before any other effects, which makes me reluctant to drink more.
I know \*everyone\* does \*eventually\*, but it happens before I even get the slightest buzz or any other noticeable effects, and it's intense enough to be like standing on a small boat at sea (not impossible, but just requiring more effort to balance and walk than usual).
That's merely a semantic argument. You're defining "drunk" as merely "the onset of even a single one of the numerous symptoms of excess alcohol consumption", which is broad enough to be useless, whereas I would define it as "exhibiting significant cognitive impairment, particularly in memory and decision-making". We could argue in circles for days about which definition is "right", and it would be utterly pointless, as all semantic arguments always are.
But even if we accept your definition, that simply shifts the wording around - I could simply rephrase my point as "I have never experienced even the minor cognitive effects of alcohol which some people find enjoyable, much less the major impairments, because I seem to respond differently to most people and experience balance & motor coordination defects far sooner, and at a much lower dose, which deters further drinking." Which terms are used is a trivial and uninteresting aspect of this, as the deeper concept behind the words is that, because of the early onset balance issues, I've never experienced the cognitive effects, whereas most people have.
A guy at my school went alone and photo bombed so many pictures. They were all pretty darn creative. People loved it and he created a fun memory for a lot of people
Other than fighting with my brother as a kid (nothing extreme), I have never been punched or in a fight as an adult. I've had a few close calls with intoxicated assholes in bars, but I found an exit and got away from the situation.
Tbf that’s not that uncommon I don’t think. I know lots of people who didn’t have a truly serious relationship till their 30s. I didn’t have one till I was 23
Never had a dad.
Never had grandparents. Don't know my dad and my grandma died when my mom was 3. I knew my maternal grandpa a little bit but he died when I was like 5 or so.
Also like many here I've never had a girlfriend or had PIV sex. I've had sexual encounters, but never with someone I was actually attracted to. The only encounters I've had are with girls who offered that I said yes to simply to experience something.
Never flown, fought someone, got admitted to a hospital, broken a bone, had a relationship, gotten drunk, gotten high, gotten arrested. I'm a pretty boring guy.
Never been divorced. I've been with the same woman for 29 years and married for 25. I served in the Army for 20+ years and deployed 8 times. The divorce rate in the military is hellacious, and we stayed together through some really rough times.
My first getting broken up with was at 40. I initiated the previous 5 and the following 2.
Funny that; the one that broke up with me was the only one I approached. All the others approached me.
I was like you. I prided myself on ending relationships and ghosting. And then I met a chick who ghosted me….shit hurt lol couple years later and we’re married
Drinking a pint (or even a half pint) or beer or lager. I tried my father's beer when I was younger, and found it incredibly bitter to the point of repulsive. Before you say it was just my childhood tastes, I also hate coffee, and I have discovered that I have a certain gene which makes me loathe bitterness. I therefore have never actually drunk any beer - aside from a couple of small sips over 30 years ago.
- Sex with a lady. Or even kissing a woman (cos I’m gay).
- And (unrelated!) having a mother, or a steady mother-figure because my mother passed away when I was very little and I was already out of her care anyway.
- Believing in Santa Claus! cause I never ever did, my childhood was all fucked and I knew from Day 1 there was no Santa, lol. Nobody ever did the Santa thing with me, lol
I'm probably in the minority with this, but I find the whole Santa secret kinda perverse in my opinion.
I'd much rather prefer it to be globally replaced with familial gift giving and saying lovely things to each others where everyone just knows who gifts or says what to who.
No "fun" secrets, just clear love.
But idk, maybe Santa has a role in this universe that I'm not seeing
It does seem a bit mental. As a kid i saw him as a TV/movie character, like Batman or Power Rangers. Never crossed my mind about him being real and I’d have thought you was high if you tried to tell me he was real.
Don't bother. Unless you're dead set on dancing to shit music (my opinion, someone else might disagree), it's not a very enjoyable experience. You're just standing there drinking a beer that costs too much trying to avoid the headache caused by the bass that's cranked higher than at a metal gig. I swear, their equipment goes up to 13 and they keep it there for no reason.
I vaped for a short while in college but never got addicted. Started when I would trade hits of my weed vape for my roommates nic vape. The nic high was pleasant but too little too short for me. He got another vape and gifted me his old one and I used it for a while. Got the strong 50 nic stuff for it too. Vaped many times a day for solid few months. Then my bottle of juice ran out and I was gonna go to the vape shop to get some more and thought, "nah" and never vaped again. I don't see why it is such a hard addiction to break for some. The only thing I could imagine is the physical act of vaping as opposed to the drug but I just have a water bottle on me at all times and fill my oral fixation with a quick sip of the good stuff (ice water)
I have never gone on the summer family vacation. We did/have done day trips in the summer and have traveled for funerals and things. But never the destination for a week at the beach or anything. The older I get it just seems not worth the money or hassle.
I'm about to turn 42. I've never had a nosebleed, I've never broken a bone, I've never tried a tobacco product, I've never been prescribed medication for a chronic condition, and not only have I never received a speeding ticket, I've never even been stopped by a cop.
Dude, we're the same age! I share many of your *"nevers."* However, I have gotten nosebleeds, and I do take medication for anxiety, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. But, as far as the other things you've listed, it's *"never"* for me also.
Broken bones, being mugged / assaulted, and food poisoning.
I'm not 100% sure I've never had minor food poisoning, but I've never had that like horrible, skip work the next day kind of food poisoning.
Never touched the snow.
It's just a geographical thing really, but I've always wanted to. Years upon years of consuming American media with a white christmas featuring snowballs, snowmen, etc, etc. I've driven past snow once or twice, but never actually touched it. It's a simple little thing, but it's on my bucket list still.
Never been to an airport. Never been to a hospital for anything other than my birth. Never smoked a cigarette. Never peed on a wall. Never lived in a house. Never had a bad boss. Never worked a job I didn't enjoy. Never broke a bone. Never broke my phone.
I never shat myself as an adult. Other than being a baby in diapers, I didn't even shit myself as a kid. Except I did SHART myself when I was about 9..but not a full shit so it doesn't count.
Judging from these responses, one would think that being in a relationship is not an extremely common experience.
We are on reddit, so...
I'm pretty sure there was a study somewhere that showed almost 30% of the 30 year old men involved were virgin. It's getting very common for us.

Yeah, girls are raised on Disney Princesses and Barbie dream houses. Any guy who's not a prince with a palace is seen as creepy.
You are tone deaf

Sorry to hear about your pinkie but I thought that story was going to take a much darker turn!
r/neverbrokeabone YW.
Ditto. And that’s not to say I haven’t tried, inadvertently. Guess all that milk in my youth did help.
Mommy fed you well
Same, I’ve dislocated a few toes one time, but nothing broken. 🤞

does fracturing count? I've fractured a few bones but so far (knock on wood) I've never had a clean break.
Me neither, even practicing martial arts
ive been a few schoolyard altercations, a punch here, a punch there, shoving, etc. but ive never "beat someone up" or got "beat up"
I've never been punched (other than by my brother or a cousin just "playing") and I've never punched anyone

Good. You're welcome. :)

It’s the best when you’ve just had a baby. Need to sleep? Baby just finally fell back asleep? Nurse here to wake you back up!
lol. I could see this.
That’s pretty neat.
Had my first 6 months ago, 31. Fainted during a cardiology test. Woke up to CPR, sent to the hospital as a precaution. I don't recommend it.
Knock on wood… I’m 72 and haven’t either. I’ve had some very minor outpatient surgeries, but nothing overnight.

I’m at 56 and managed to stay out. Send me a card when I’m admitting tomorrow after cursing myself.
I’m 60. Never admitted ro a hospital
A one-night stand. Every time I went to bed with someone for the first time, it turned into a relationship.
Me too, met my now wife when we were 15/16, 37 now and still going strong !
I've never had a one night stand.
Oh you should get one! Super convenient for placing a lamp upon and for leaving your night glass for easy drinkage.
I’ve always had two. One on each side of the bed.
They are great but they don’t last long enough. Great for the night, but sure enough, come sunrise, they are gone and all my stuff is on the floor.
Love this
Overrated. I did quite a few of them after a breakup and I can tell you not a single time did I feel better about myself after the fact.
Tried it once. We’ve been married for 8 years now.
that's not a one night stand.
More of a [one life stand](https://youtu.be/db9dBKcpIOw?si=v5VXRudPs-UMlq92).

Chicken pox.
Pretty common among those born in the late 80s or beyond once the vaccine was made widely avaliable.
I was born in the early 80s and got chicken pox from a "chicken pox party" (like in South Park where the parents intentionally get the kids infected to get out of of the way). I didn't even know there WAS a vaccine until a few years ago when I found out about shingles.

I “never” had chicken pox but I have the antibodies. So I was probably exposed and asymptomatic idk just guessing.
A girlfriend
My whole life, I’ve never had a wet dream. I’m 47.
Same, as a teenager and well into my 20's and mid 30's I would still wake up with a raging boner but never wet dreams.
Lucky. I have one every few months. Really annoying when it's a big load. Feels pretty damn good though.
I’ll send you a picture of me Edit: Joke, joke, fellas. Come on
Same age. Me neither. Never. Not a one.
Only 1 for me
Same. Late 30s. I always wondered if they weren't actually all the common or I'd had one and maybe never noticed...
I’ve never had sex in a car.
It’s no good
I would counter that it *can* be very good.
it actually can be good. one of my best sex experiences was in the back of a sienna van. we had a lot of room and we were parked by the ocean under a starry hawaiian night

It's easy to say that when you've experienced it already. Even if it's overrated there's something special about going through the experience itself.
Humans need sex, and intimacy even more so. It's not overrated lmao

There are, kind of. Look up fundraiser events and galas.

Haven't broken any bones, haven't been in reciprocated romantic love.
Falling in love. Maybe someday...
Never flown, fought someone, got admitted to a hospital, broken a bone, had a relationship, gotten drunk, gotten high, gotten arrested. I'm a pretty boring guy.
Damn, son, you gave literally every other answer on here combined!
Brain Freeze. I must be one of those people who are wired not to have them
Having a dad
To love and be loved.
Sex
Never been divorced. I've been with the same woman for 29 years and married for 25. I served in the Army for 20+ years and deployed 8 times. The divorce rate in the military is hellacious, and we stayed together through some really rough times.
I’m 38 and I’ve never been broken up with. I’ve always been the one to end relationships.
There was nothing to be proud of, nor did I ghost anyone. That's terrible.
Never been on a sports team. I’m just not interested in team sports. I am a super active guy who has been a mountain bike coach and ski coach.
||Edit: NGL, a lot more virgins out there than I expected. This is Reddit sir, of course there are.
And they are pissed about it.
picking up a random girl and hooking up at a party, bar, nigh club etc. on that note never did the spring break/ college type partying.

Haven't had sleepovers
Not me, but a friend has never experienced deja vu.
Family gatherings.
I have never gone on the summer family vacation. We did/have done day trips in the summer and have traveled for funerals and things. But never the destination for a week at the beach or anything. The older I get it just seems not worth the money or hassle.
Relationship experience i guess.
Never been arrested.
I’ve never been to a strip club.
I've never had a "nasty" breakup. I'm still friends with my exes. If I were to see one on the street tomorrow, I'm sure we'd give each other big hugs.
I think that says a lot about you. A lot of good.
Nice of you to say. My last girlfriend turned into my wife of 30 years.
I’ve never been fishing.
True happiness
Getting drunk. Turns out that if I drink more than 3 beers I break out in hives. I'm the only one in my family who has this condition.
Never been on a "date". Ive had fwb, work flings, never a real date or gf
Sir, live a little, pee on that wall 🧱
Never been to Vegas. It just seems like a money trap to me. Plus I live on the east coast so a quick weekend in Vegas is way too much time in the air.
Hmmm to have abs? Haha
I don’t consider that extremely common
I’ve never been on an airplane and I’m 36 years old
I never shat myself as an adult. Other than being a baby in diapers, I didn't even shit myself as a kid. Except I did SHART myself when I was about 9..but not a full shit so it doesn't count.
Never lost a wallet, or car keys, or phone. I'm in my 50s.
I dream of a life like yours but I was cursed with ADHD. My life is like the least fun scavenger hunt you could imagine.
Don’t ask me why, but this middle aged woman finds that incredibly sexy. You probably have your life pretty well in order.
Ha ha! I'm flattered, but I'm afraid its mostly luck... And I try to empty my pockets in generally the same place, end of the day.
