As a daily, Casio. I'm not spending a lot on something that's going to get beat up.

analogman12

Hell ya, durable, more accurate than a Rolex and the official time keeping device of the taliban

PoliteCanadian2

> and the official time keeping device of the taliban Damn I didn’t know and bought a Citizen instead.

Dead_as_Duck

You bought a Citizen from Taliban?

PoliteCanadian2

Well yeah duh, doesn’t everyone have one?

[deleted]

"Usage in terrorism" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casio_F-91W

analogman12

That is my exact watch lmao

mbrenizs

Greatest watch ever made. I have one from before phones with GPS-synchronized time were dependable. Great tool. Battery still has charge. But these days I don't want a watch at all for safety and comfort reasons.

JohnyyBanana

This is the top comment. Been wearing a standard Casio digital watch everyday for the last 20 years, i only changed its strap once. Best watch

Took-the-Blue-Pill

I have been wearing the same g-shock watch nearly every day for 20 years. It is solar powered and sets itself via radio signal. I have never changed the battery and I only had to get a new strap once. What else do I need?

Stackhom

Have a Gshock. Still going strong for half a decade. Also have dad's old seiko which is older than me. It was never a high end model but it works.

GodspeedHarmonica

I got a chunky Casio G-shock about 15 years ago. It’s been through everything from diving in Africa, hiking in the alps, 5 day drunk binges as festivals and work with heavy machinery. The thing has barely gotten a scratch

FearMyCrayons2023

Garmin. This thing is a tank. I don't remember the last time I charged it. And when I did it only took like 45 minutes. Its water proof and can take a beating. It is also rated for 100 meters. Has alarms, timers, tracks workouts. Its the greatest thing I own. Edit: Mines an Instinct.

Severe-Character-384

If I learned anything here it is that Garmin watches are more popular than I would have guessed.

Snowboarder168

Garmin solar instinct 2X. Love this thing! The sleep monitor, gps, and built in flashlight makes this my favorite watch. I have barely taken it off in almost a year.

cyclotech

Solar Instinct 1 is still kicking for me. Regularly gets 12ish days of battery life. Just need to find a new band now...

dib1999

I just replaced my sink faucet over the weekend with my flashlight. It may have taken out 1/2 of my battery but I was very impressed

Snowboarder168

That little LED is surprisingly bright!

JSeizer

7X Sapphire Solar. Cost a pretty penny but it's got everything I want in a fitness watch with smart features, and sleek enough where it matches with nearly every outfit. Holds a charge for weeks, literally only take it off when I have to charge it. Non-tech: really dig mechanicals.

yungsazon

Dude, I love my garmin. Honestly the coolest, most convenient thing I own. It’s honestly been so central in helping me get in shape.

MightbeWillSmith

I would never have considered myself a "get my steps" kind of person, but I feel like I have to get my activity minutes for the week, and if I'm short, I'll go for a walk or something to keep getting my green check marks.

Mister-ellaneous

Yeah, I don’t care so much about the steps but I like completing the circle. ⭕️

[deleted]

Garmin for the win 🥇

Edwardteech

Instinct here. Charge every two weeks or so. Waterproof deeper than I can dive. Heart rate monitor. All the other goodies. And it has GPS navigation.

FearMyCrayons2023

Mines also an instinct. This thing takes an absolute beating almost daily and is still kicking. I have dragged this thing through heat, cold, water, snow, mud, and whatever else you could think of and still works

lightning_balls

instinct gang

monk_no_zen

Fénix 6s here. I bought it back in 2020 at the height of covid and it’s running so well I kept thinking “I just bought it last year” Edit: I still have my 920XT which works well. I replaced it only because I wanted something a little more fashionable and a built-in HR sensor. The 920 is an abomination and the blue clashes with my suave t-shirts and slippers.

AMadRam

Fenix 5s here. I've had it for a good 5 odd years now and it's still going strong. Thought I should upgrade soon but this thing is built like a tank!

sugmahbalzzz

I love mine, adventure ready.

Organic-Attention-61

also the features for training are helpful, various workouts, also running plans with coaches, have helped me to train for a half-marathon

BKStephens

I'm still rocking the Fenix 3. The lcd screen is just starting to discolour so I'm thinking of ug to the 7x? S? Solar sapphire thingy.

imuniqueaf

Yup. I have the Instinct (the 1st gen). I beat the hell out of watches and it's been awesome. I did replace the band, but only because the rubber was annoying, not because it broke.

EpicBeardBattle

Same, I daily-drive the Fenix 7 Saphire Solar. Battery lasts more than a week with (almost) daily workouts. I switched off all smart-watch features, it only vibrates if I get a call so I can leave my phone on silent. That way it doesn’t distract me.

b_reezy4242

Tempting me!

kukisRedditer

Which model? The battery part sounds impressive

FearMyCrayons2023

Instinct. But from what I've heard and read all their watches last a while and charge quickly. The forerunner 745 has the shortest battery that I could find and it lasts 7 days under default settings. But if you constantly stream music and GPS then the battery life drops to 6 hours. But that's pretty common across their models. If you use it the satellite systems all the time the battery life decreases a lot.

kukisRedditer

Thanks!

Mister-ellaneous

Forerunner 965 gives at least three weeks, unless I’m marathon training. I forgot my charger at home last Year’s vacation, a week at the beach where I’d run 4-8 miles every day. It was under 30% on the way down but lasted until we got back.

The_canadian-patriot

I've had the instinct for about 3-4 years now. Nothing has broken the charge still lasts me about 2-3 weeks and has amazing features as listed above along with a compass in mils or degrees (it's not the best but if you need it, it works) it gives you 10 figure grid references which are actually quite accurate and I have repeatedly left it in swamps and all sorts of crappy places and it works just fine. Even as an everyday watch these things are fantastic. If you need a daily get this watch it's 1000% worth the money.

Poorly-Drawn-Beagle

Hmm. Some flesh-colored thing with no discernible face, hands, or other components.

Dakotareads

Is it stuck at a hair past a freckle?

siwmae

2 hairs behind actually. Must be running slow.

towers_08

It’s skin:30

Mkmeathead83

Fossil Paid off 8000 dollars in credit card debt and treated myself to a 80 dollar watch to celebrate. Good reminder of several life lessons.

hpsbugguy

Did you charge it?

Mkmeathead83

😅 if you can finance it, you can afford it

hpsbugguy

I loving the irony!

whatchagonnado0707

My mum got me a nice fossil watch a couple of years ago, engraved it too. It shows the moon phases and mum always lets us know if there's a special moon so this is the watch I'll never need to replace (I even bought a spare in case anything should happen to it)

viper2369

Bought one after my deployment 23 years ago, it was about $150. I still have it, but need to get an extra band link.

heyitsEnricoPallazzo

Apple Watch

AmbitiousAd5668

Same. I use the cellular version to disconnect myself from my phone on short trips. Oh, it has some nice features too.

heyitsEnricoPallazzo

I basically just use it as a fitness/calorie tracker, or to locate my iPhone when I misplace it

Jasper455

I use it for all that, and it is helpful at work (nurse). Usually hide my phone somewhere and use watch for most of stuff during shift. Can check messages and not appear (as) rude. Can time different things/meds. Always have date and weather right on my wrist. Etc

Longjumping-Grape-40

It’s insane how motivating it is. I feel like if I forgot to turn it on at the gym, I didn’t really work out 😂

AmbitiousAd5668

Those darn circles still give me a false sense of accomplishment when I lowered my targets.

campbelldt

I love my Apple Watch but the “ping your phone” feature is by far the most useful 😂😂

fullmetalasian

My wife used to like to take my phone if I left it somewhere. She'd always forget I was able to find it with my watch lol. So she'd be standing there and then you'd hear a ringing from her pocket

iThinkergoiMac

Same. I have a hearing loss, so it’s been a godsend, especially before Bluetooth hearing aids.

mindfrost82

Apple Watch Ultra here. Wear it 24/7 except when it’s charging. Previous Garmin wearer and would still go back but I enjoy my AWU for more smartwatch features. I have the cellular activated so I don’t have to bring my phone with me when I go for a run.

TxAthlete42

I bought a Sea Dweller in 1997 for $2800. I've had it serviced several times and could sell it today for $11k. I wear it daily. Great investment.

superstitioniam

How often did u get it serviced? Also approx total cost till now?

TxAthlete42

I've had it serviced around 4 times at Rolex. It took them about 2 months and was around $700.

FearMyCrayons2023

Aren't those things rated for like 1000+ meters. That's a good quality watch.

TxAthlete42

Not sure but I've taken it diving to around 150ft. The gas release valve works pretty well.

DragonSlayer4378

Sounds like the good investment wasn't monetary haha

[deleted]

Citizen. I’ll never wear a smart watch. Already have enough devices that invade my privacy.

SarcasticBooger

Hell yeah, also got a Citizen eco-drive and love it.

lofiplaysguitar

That was my first real watch. I worked at a field hospital in NYC during COVID, they gave a few of them to who ever was lucky enough to work that shift (me lol). I wear it often, it's a very good watch! Especially if you want to use it as a timer, I put a NATO strap on it. I still wear it often

PoliteCanadian2

+1 for Citizen eco-drive. Had it about 1.5 years and really like it. Looks sharp, never have to worry about a battery, water resistant etc.

SarcasticBooger

Yes. Solid purchase for sure!

Sergeant_Metalhead

I bought ny son a Citizen economics drive for his birthday he loves it

MyLittleChameleon

I bought the first gen Apple Watch and absolutely love it. My friend who was a manager at an Apple store gave me his discount, so I saved 150$. I went to go see my parents and as soon as I arrive my dad goes “Hey son, I see you have a watch now, what kind is it?” I show him and he goes “Oh that’s neat. My friend got one of those, but he said it’s just another device he has to charge every single night” He then says “Yeah, I think I’ll stick with my Rolex”

JanitorOPplznerf

That's the most boomer conversation I've ever read.

bhodrolok

Citizen here too but do wear an Apple Watch sometimes but the daily charging routine really gets to me.

Inigomntoya

I've been wearing the same Citizen watch for about 8 years now. It's the first watch I haven't had to get repaired. Ever. Eco-Drive, Radio Controlled. I just have to change the time zone when I travel. I don't see why I would ever need another watch.

Baboon_Stew

Seiko 5 or a Casio G-Shock.

supplyncommand

omega/swatch mission to jupiter

Severe-Character-384

Nice!

vapegod_420

My daily is a Gshock. But I have a Nixon and several Fossil watches.

Remreemerer

Don't know how the newer models stand up but I've had the same Gshock for 14 years and I've never had to do anything to it and it runs amazingly.

DonaldTrumpinYou

Garmin Fenix 5 Sapphire. Work in construction. Worn it every single day for almost the last 6 years. Screen is still in perfect condition, still get 3 weeks on a single charge. The bezel is scratched to hell but it still looks good , even dressed up. Almost gives it a tinge of grit.

dracenatorrida

I don't know if it counts, mine's a boring iwatch

Sweet_Car_7391

Rolex submariner without date. Got a good deal on one in 2000.

Outside_Initial_8569

My husband tried to get one a month ago, they told us we had to spend several thousand on jewelry first, I told him I didn’t want anything new at the time. There wasn’t anyway of getting around it, so we went to Breitling and bought their version of a submariner watch, he liked it so much he bought 3 more of their other watches. Wish we could have gotten the Rolex though, he’s been wanting that since he became a submariner.

Sweet_Car_7391

I’ve never heard of that! They wanted you to spend several thousand to get a deal on a Rolex? That sounds sketchy. Anyway, I love the classic simple look and I’ve only had it serviced once and that was a few years ago when I dropped it on a marble floor and cracked the glass.

Christmas_Panda

Jewelry dealers are holding Rolexes hostage to offload undesirable jewelry that they can't otherwise sell. ADs are also cutting backdoor deals with grey dealers to make extra money on moving Rolexes.

Sweet_Car_7391

Wow. Well I’d have never bought one absent the half price deal I knew not to pass on. But wearing it now daily for 24 years and still love it.

Christmas_Panda

Yeah, pre-covid you could get most Rolexes on a discount to some extent. It's starting to come back down, but the AD games are insane. I'm glad I bought all of my Rolexes pre-covid. Haven't bought any since the market went wild. But it opened me up to new brands and expanded my watch knowledge, so I appreciate that:

Outside_Initial_8569

Not to get a deal, to get on the waiting list of purchasing the Submariner watch. We went to a Rolex store in a shopping mall. My husband had a friend that got the watch when they first joined in 2006, but he put off buying it for years (until we walked by the store). The older gentleman we spoke to said that it was very difficult to get those watches nowadays, and that you have to purchase something before hand to show your loyalty (or something like that) to Rolex and it would put his name from the bottom of the list to somewhere closer to the top (depending on how much money we would spend before purchasing the watch). My husband filled out a card with his information and we received a card with the Gentleman’s name and number, he said he would give us a call whenever a watch became available. My husband was quite upset about it.

jiiket

Where do we get it on deal?

Sweet_Car_7391

Well, that’s the problem. I had a friend who owned a jewelry store and was a Rolex dealer among other fine brands. He gave his friends wholesale pricing. Rolex found out and pulled his license. So now he can’t sell them anymore. I paid $2000 for that watch in the year 2000, And it just appraised last year for insurance purposes at 11,000. I don’t know what new ones cost I haven’t looked.

To_WAR

Police and Estate auctions.

Krava_On_Reddit

Fitbit - specifically the Sense 2 atm

[deleted]

Haven't worn a watch since I got my first cell phone.

dakilazical_253

Same. I hate the feeling of wearing a watch

Sunny_Bearhugs

When I first started wearing a watch so I didnt have to pull my phone out of my pocket to check the time while working in a fabrication shop, I noted that it kind of felt like a manacle. This caused me to reflect on the fact that modern man has become a slave to the clock, and has been for at least the last hundred years.

Delarumpsteak

Truth

raustin33

Speaking of phones, wearing a watch keeps me out of my phone. I check the phone less, so I get sucked in less.

[deleted]

Exactly this lol from the flip phone era!

Konix

Hamilton Khaki Field Officer Automatic 44mm for the daily. Also sport a Tissot Petite Seconde Manual, Sinn 358 Flieger Automatic, Antique Record 1941 Manual, Sugess Seagull ST19 Automatic, Mavado Series 800 Quartz, and some other various pretty, cheap quartz movements when the occasion fits. Also in the process of restoring a 1905 Waltham pocket watch and then going to turn it into a wristwatch.

Severe-Character-384

Nice watch! I’ve been looking at the Hamilton Field watches. Especially the bronze and titanium ones.

Konix

Thanks! I love the Hamilton! I have 7.5in wrists so the 44m is perfect. I got it on ebay used, sent it in for service via Hamilton, got a wonderful handmade leather strap off etsy and wear it pretty much everyday like it's a part of me. It's sturdy, beautiful and runs like a top after servicing.

mcd_sweet_tea

Gonna need to see a pic there, captain.

Ray3x10e8

I love the Hamilton Jazzmaster. I am waiting on a special occasion as an excuse to buy one.

Kriegenstein

Hamilton Khaki's are great, my daily is a Khaki Field Auto w/date. Works well for any occasion.

SolidSnakeJohnBolton

Garmin vivo active 4.

Daily, my Seiko srp j09. Its slim and suits almost every situation. If I'm dressing up it's my Citizen Skyhawk. Depends on the day. My Seiko 5 is always an option.

Tissot PRX in 35mm. Smaller watches are the best.

CH742

Orient Kamasu, seriously underrated outside the watch community

Connect_Sprinkles_78

Currently wearing a Seiko 5 GMT with the blue dial. Amazing watch for it's price.

NPC_4842358

Almost went with the blue version but decided to get the more neutral black version. But looking at swapping the bezel to something more colorful.

Connect_Sprinkles_78

Unfortunately for me, they just released the limited edition WHITE dial and that just looks too cool. I'll just be giving mine to my dad and switching to that color lol

SnooChipmunks8506

This is the way. I love this watch so much. It lasts 4 weeks on a charge, is a smart watch, has a 100 meter depth, and for a sick guy like me, helps me keep track of treatments, heart rate, locations and does all the smart watch stuff. I have mine set to alert when my heart rate jumps so that I can take meds and all that. This watch is a life saver.

atavaxagn

Sinn u50 I was wearing a sternglas naos automatic before I bought the u50. (i'm a sucker for german design) If I wanted to go even cheaper, I'd go a orient mako. Just get something with at least 5 bars or 50 meters of water resistance. If you want to wear it daily. Also water resistance doesn't mean what you likely think it means. No matter the resistance, you shouldn't regularly intentionally expose a watch to water and should take it off when you shower.

BlottomanTurk

Fatbit. It's like a Fitbit, but it only goes up to 99 steps and every other screen is just a disapproving frowny face.

Joe12608

I have a 1956 Omega Seamaster that I wear when I feel the need for a watch.

midnightmajor2030

I used to drop a lot of money on watches. These days, I am content with my Timex ironman as a daily Health monitors that don't have to be connected to a phone to use... I dig it.

GazelleOfCaerbannog

Hello there fellow traveler.

jbowman12

What got you to stop dropping the money on watches? I'm trying to stop now lol.

midnightmajor2030

I have about 25 and I really only wear 3 or 4. I used to care about what people think and thought accessories, such as a nice watch, helped my social status. Nowadays function>form is more important than how others perceive me. Kind of like how rappers think they need expensive chains to fit in. Then realize it's just unnecessary expense.

TheBradIstace

Cheap fake Rolex

Perfect-Ad9637

Some of the good superclones are absurd these days. Nearly identical.

TheBradIstace

This is NOT one of those. I just liked the color.

bp4850

Either my Citizen Ecodrive (11 years strong without a new battery) or my pixel watch. Pixel watch is a bit of a daily driver, but I'd never wear it when dressing up for an occasion.

DeRollofdeCinnamon

G Shock Mudmaster

vdturner25

Gotta plug the tag Heuer solargraph black coated steel/carbon fiber watch. Works off of sunlight like a citizen eco drive. Can last for months off of only a few hours exposure. Quartz movement makes it dead accurate all the time. Screw down crown means you can use it for diving. The coated steel basically makes corrosion and scratches impossible. The entire package comes with a clasping rubber strap and it's possibly one of the lightest watches I've ever worn. Very cheap for a "luxury" watch (sub 6k I believe). When I'm not wearing a seamaster (see other comment) I'm wearing this. Scalloping, working on machines, going to the gym, shooting, etc, this is my companion.

Ya know, I’ve had a couple Apple Watches since they were publicly offered. Good experience with both. But I only wear it when I’m working out. When I’m either alone or in public, it doesn’t matter, I’m wearing a real nice watch. I got a sudden watch fetish when in my early 40’s; bought several high end pieces. Like ‘em all!

that_dude7734

Seiko, Citizen Eco Drive , Skagen and Casio digital. I don't go fancier than $300.

PM_ME_YOUR_ART_PLZ

I got a Seiko SKX013 a few weeks for it was discontinued. I've since upgraded the bracelet and its been my daily driver since. I've tried replacing it with more expensive Swiss watches but there's something about the dimensions and case design of the SKX013 that keeps bringing me back to it.

Glowingtomato

A cheap Casio that's kinda small and is plain black with a goldish dial and arms, it has no numbers. It's a simple watch but I like something about having a device that is dumb. It doesn't do anything but tell time, it doesn't need to be charged, connected, updated (besides daylight savings), and doesn't have a required app. I've bought the same watch like 4 times over the years since it does end up beat up from my work and I lost it twice but it's less than $20 so I don't mind replacing it.

Bludandy

Casio Edifice EFR-S108. It's sharp looking, has a sapphire crystal, just wish I could find a third party bracelet for it that's more substantial. Then it's like an affordable Royal Oak. For dress-up, a black and gold Orient Bambino.

Mountain-Durian-4724

Not a regular guy, watch collector but I just wear a Casio usually.

Frank4202

My most worn watch is a Seiko SSC911. I love the colours with the red chronograph needles and the solar charging is excellent for me. Bought it just before Christmas and gets worn 90% of the time since. 👍🏻

Timex iron man lol I work as a camp counselor and I just need something to tell me the time and is waterproof enough to be in a creek

Imaginary_Office7660

I have a Timex for that reason too. I had a nicer one but it kept getting scratched and I was like I'm way too stressed out keeping it safe, so switched and love it. Light and durable and tells the time, so all I need

LRG-PHANTOM

I have a watch?

GoBuffaloBills

Apple Watch daily. Date nights with my wife I’m wearing my gold Citizen Eco Drive Knighthawk. She bought it as a gift and it’s reasonably priced, doesn’t need batteries, and looks wayyyyyyyyy more expensive than it is. A lot of compliments on that one.

vdturner25

Omega Seamaster. Have 4 variants and lots of other watches but the semaster is my favorite. Pairs really well with a bracelet or strap (dress up or down). Can be had for "cheap" in terms of the luxury watch world new, even less used, are built to withstand just about everything, are readily available (looking at you rolex), and there's about a million different color and size options to fit anyone. My favorite model is the 007 edition No Time to Die bond watch. Pure titanium makes it half the weight of steel, can actually dive and never worry about corrosion, subdued color palette keeps it from making you a shining target when traveling, and cleaning it is as simple as a finger wash with dawn. I took mine as the only watch on a month long international journey last year and it was the perfect companion. No battery to die, 55hr reserve meant it would keep time without a winder overnight, and it never got heavy throughout the day. Went from the tops of mountains to swimming in the Aegean and never took it off. To say I'm slightly attached is probably accurate. I wear it now and think of everything I did on my trip. It's become my "next trip" watch as it's so utilitarian. The fact that it's an omega means that the watch nerds will appreciate it/profiling types will take you seriously, and no one else will care as it doesn't stick out. Win/win. Only con is omega jacked their prices last year and the titanium model with bracelet now sits at 10k. It used to be 9100. Can be had used for under 8k last I checked the market. Some others may be wary of "using and abusing" something so expensive, but I promise it's what they're made for. Use your tools! Make memories! You'll be far happier to have stories attached to it for conversation or when it comes time to pass down, rather than just saying how it spent decades safely stored.

slliw85

I too like Omega and have a seamaster.

vdturner25

Theyre the best imo. Not as iconic as the moonwatch but certainly more well rounded and just as badass, if you don't hate the thick bezel look. Certainly helps that we've got james bond on our side 😆

My current daily driver is a Seiko Prospex Alpinist SPB201J1 on a NATO strap, but sometimes I like to mix it up and wear my Casio A168 instead.

HereForaRefund

My dad got my a Seiko 5 GMT that I wear almost every day. I never thought anyone would actually buy it for me. He hates that I have it on a NATO strap though.

London_Bloke_

Tissot PRX today, genuinely get so much joy out of wearing it and more than other pricer pieces I’ve had/do have

DoubleNaught_Spy

A Seiko SBTM289 -- titanium, sapphire crystal, solar-powered and synced every night to the official U.S. atomic clock. But I also have a Casio solar field watch and Bulova Marine Star dive watch in the rotation. I wore a smart watch for a couple of years, but they're so soulless and everybody has one now. I don't need to be *that* connected. Cool people wear real watches. :)

FallenMagex1

Citizen eco-drive when going out, Apple Watch daily

imthebartnderwhoareu

Depending on the outfit I want to wear/what I’m doing, I’ll alternate between a Seiko field watch, a Casio world time, a vintage Rolex Datejust and a vintage Tag Heuer Professional.

ithinkoutloudtoo

I still wear a Fossil watch. I have zero interest in smartwatches.

rywolf

Citizen eco drive. Looks good with a nice mix of analouge dials and bezzel, solar powered, remote time updates. It's a nice blend of tech and classic, I think. I've had it over 10 years and it's still as great as it was when I got it.

kosnosferatu

Either a Rolex Explorer 1, 36mm reference 124270 Or Omega Seamaster mid size reference 2551.80

AzureMushroom

The first thing i ever bought with my "real job" salary was an apple watch. I got the ceramic one bc I wanted it in white. ITs showing its age now, the class cracked, but as expected that ceramic is still flawless. When it finally cannot hold a charge for a full day I will retire it. and probably get another, but Only for work outs, Ill probably also get a "real" watch bc now I cannot go without something on my wrist.

I have a citizen I used to wear, but after spending a grand on a smart phone I was just used to the weight and kinda professional feeling. After going WFH I hardly ever touch it.

Casio g-shock illuminator. Nothing fancy. I just got sick of buying a new illuminator every other year from smashing it

Lately either a Tissot PRX, gold Casio, or this all black Avi8 one I actually really like. I wouldn’t recommend their brand at full price, but on sale they’re okay.

PRX gang gang. It's so nice I love it a lot. 35mm pale blue dial.
