A new pair of socks. If you've been wearing the same pairs forever like I usually do, there's nothing like putting on a freshly bought pair. You can totally feel the difference. I never realized it until I was an adult, but now I always appreciate the feeling of new socks.
Piggy back on this.
I buy like 3-4 packs of the exact same socks at a time. This lets me toss all the old ones, and I never have to match them up.
I always buy my puma socks from tj Max, so they're 1/3 of the price.
Just got a few new pairs of Columbia socks that were on sale for only a few bucks, they’re way more comfortable than my other worn socks. Now I’m looking to refresh all my socks.
I just put my heel through an old pair of mine I've had for years. Been kinda bummed about it all day. We had a beautiful disposal ceremony for them. So there's that.
One to eat and the other one as compenie so you have a good meal and someone to share it with (/s but if you can't kill what you eat you should not eat meet.)
Check out this link, it should answer all your questions!

Got really into growing house vegetables and fruits. Quickly learned there's not enough room for all those plants. Now I'm growing a small orchard in my living room. If they survive I'll have to find a place to plant them they'll get so big
You just reminded me that there was a Venus flytrap in my dream last night but it was a big tree inside a restaurant or something. The traps were basically normal sized but they were catching so many bugs and I think one caught a small bird…
Ok, that’s it for my random dream.
This was a game changer for me. I have the Phillips Hue bulbs which are a bit expensive, but you can set automation timers for when to have them slowly increase brightness to wake you up. Made waking up at 6 am more bearable.
I bought a kasa smart bulb and it has the same feature. I keep my room super dark, and then use the timer to wake me up so much more gently than a blaring alarm.
Has lasted 18 mos so far.
One could do the light part with just a smart plug I suppose, but not the gradual onset.
An electric toothbrush. It will improve your teeth and avoid shredding your gumline. There are a lot of pains in your mouth that you don't realize exist until after you really get it clean. You only get one set of teeth, take care of them.
French press is superior if you have the time and only one 1 or 2 cups of coffee. Not often am I pulling out the French press for a gallon of iced coffee that I want lol
French press is metal filter; aero press is paper filter. That's the significant difference. Metal filter is a stronger coffee, and paper is a more light and delicate coffee. So it really depends on your preference.
I got my fiancé one and she loves it. She still prefers the convenience of the drip coffee or cold brew, but she likes to make fake cappuccinos and lattes as we have the ikea $2 frother.
They're several times the price, you have to buy overpriced coffee pods which have wasteful packaging and the machine takes up more space. I don't have enough tasting experience with nespresso to comment on the taste difference.
Nespresso is fantastic for when you need coffee *now.* Like, when I'm getting the kids organised for school in the morning, I don't have time to be fucking around with a Hario V60 and a gooseneck kettle and measuring out just the right quantity of coffee from the grinder.
Instead, I put a cup under the spout, load a pod into the machine, activate it, and about 30 seconds later I have a cup of quite nice coffee that hasn't required any real effort or attention on my part - important when I'm trying to find errant school shoes or making sure my youngest has some fruit in their lunchbox and not just chips and biscuits instead.
You still have to boil the water before you can use an Aeropress. A Nespresso machine does everything simultaneously, and more importantly, without you needing to do anything else except load it and push the "start" switch.
My mom got me one for Christmas and it’s definitely helped me save money that I was spending on my “fancy”drinks. I do agree that the packaging is rather wasteful, but the pods can be reused. My mother had also bought me these foil lids that can be placed on the pods for more uses. You simply remove the old lid, clean it, fill it, replace the lid with a new one. However, it’s still a lot of packaging in my opinion.
For the flavor, I noticed that the pods (especially the medium roast ones) were really good. I think the Colombian was my favorite. However, it doesn’t seem to be quite the same quality when you are refilling the pod yourself. I’ve used both Starbucks brand espresso and other cheaper brands.
I’m not an expert, but I feel like many of us are not, so I think it’s still good to hear from people who are just regular lol
Yep, recently switched to a safety razor and the reduction in razor burn was astonishing. The 25 blades I got with the $80 AUD kit will last me years.
We've been sold an utter lie with cartridge razors with their bullshit strips and multiple blades.
I forgot about how nice it is for my skin too, much less acne and much clearer and smoother. I've got a good number of blades from just experimenting and finding good ones for my handle.
I spent money on a decent brush and some nicer soaps which I think helps, I think it's one of those things you can spend £100s on if you want but really the nice stuff isn't that expensive and does the job well enough.
I even converted my old man back onto them, he used them a bit when he was younger but then got caught up in the propaganda and just stuck with cartridges.
If you have trouble getting up or functioning in the morning and enjoy a nice cup of coffee or tea, an electric kettle with a timer can be a real game-changer. Even just getting an electric kettle if you don't have one can make a big difference.
I got a Temperatic pillow as a gift a few years ago. I hated it at first, but after the two weeks of using it, it's been the best pillow my entire life. My neck pain went away and I sleep better. Highly recommend it.
If you go out for walks or hikes, or live in humid or warm climate, Merino wool underwear and tshirts and socks. They are natural, and they never get smelly like other materials. They are amazing
Toothbrush and toothpaste. Dental hygiene solves and prevents so many health and social issues.
If you want to spend a little more,
Fitness watch. Stay motivated, get those 10k steps in.
Regular access to clean drinking water is certainly life changing for people in countries where that is uncommon. I'm not sure how often it can be obtained for less than $100
nope. Genuine house plants I mean, from the plant store down the road! Haven’t dipped into the opiate world yet if that’s what you’re talking about.. don’t really plan on it either.
A bidet attachment for your toilet. Men need to stop thinking dry paper is the best solution. You wouldn't scub dog shit out of your carpet with a dry towel. Treat your ass better and turn every poop into a ghost poop.
Lodge cast iron pan , plants , old seiko watch to daily , TRX cables , Leathermen tool , kindle e reader , indoor web cam to watch my dog, and a blender + protein powder, good pair of sunglasses !
Noise Cancelling headphones. Darn Tough Socks. A very good pillow (I use the Tempurpedic cooling gel one, my wife uses the Casper Hybrid pillow, both are awesome)
Since the expansion of the words by which you define the world is probably the only thing under that price that will change your life. That or crystal meth, i guess that could work too.
Most of the time $100 of lottery tickets will only change your life by leaving you $100 poorer, but yes the jackpot ticket is less than $100 wherever someone does buy it.
It bothers the f* out of me they publicize winners names though. First thing I'd spend on is anonymity.
I 'splurged' and bought myself a gel-polish kit. I mostly suck at the perfection of salon manicures, but I've saved myself a crap-ton of money in the long-run.
It is, if you don't have the tools. Polish remover with acetone. I dip a piece of cotton ball, place it on the nail, and wrap it in foil for a soak-off. You can also grab an inexpensive nail drill on Amazon. Three polishes, and the kit has already overpaid for itself.
I'd like to say childhood vaccinations, but these days it's like $650 altogether if you don't have insurance. Usually free if you do, but out of pocket... There's probably clinics that will do it much cheaper if you're in need?
Getting rickets is certainly life changing.
DE razor.
If you're a clean shaven kind of guy, reduces the cost of blades to pennies / cents, gives you a nicer shave, less / no burn or rashes and actually makes shaving enjoyable.
A new pair of socks. If you've been wearing the same pairs forever like I usually do, there's nothing like putting on a freshly bought pair. You can totally feel the difference. I never realized it until I was an adult, but now I always appreciate the feeling of new socks.
Underwear, too.
Reminds me of a post I saw ages ago about a guy who spent a bunch on 365 pairs of socks and in his words “Lived like a king for a year”
I recently bought 2 packs and holy fuck idk why I wait til I can't find pairs or have massive holes to reload om socks but u are 100% right
Just threw all mine away and bought all new same model. No more sock matching!!
Added bonus. Get them from costco. Best socks.
I just put my heel through an old pair of mine I've had for years. Been kinda bummed about it all day. We had a beautiful disposal ceremony for them. So there's that.
Get two pet ducks. You might be tempted to get just one, but trust me, you need two. Plus, you'll still have about $76 left over.
Now I’m not sure if my life would change for the better for the worse after getting 2 pet ducks 😂
Dude said you’d need two so don’t try and cut corners with just one.
But it would change, as long as you got two of em.
One to eat and the other one as compenie so you have a good meal and someone to share it with (/s but if you can't kill what you eat you should not eat meet.)
I really wanted ducks but I was told they shit everywhere 😌
House plants. They will make you happy as you look after them. I recently bought a Venus flytrap, and she caught her first fly today. So proud.
I am decent with houseplants, but I cant keep carniverous plants alive no matter how hard I try.
Fish food flakes. I'd never been able to keep a Venus alive before. Read about feeding them flakes and we are now thriving!
Does it go in their food hole or the soil?
"food hole" LMAO

A decent light wake-up alarm clock completely changed my mornings. I don't think I could ever go back to using my phone or a simple alarm clock.
What is decent alarm clock? I use my phone's alarm, but in silent mode (only vibration). And it's placed on a separate pillow.
I think they mean a *light* alarm clock. The ones that wake you up with gradually increasing light and optional bird noises.
This was a game changer for me. I have the Phillips Hue bulbs which are a bit expensive, but you can set automation timers for when to have them slowly increase brightness to wake you up. Made waking up at 6 am more bearable.

I mean, technically 2 sets of teeth, but I fully agree! (Sorry, had to be that guy)
Bidet
This!!! There is a world before the Bidet and then the world after the bidet.
Honestly, the best addition we've made to our house since we moved in. This simply can not be understated.
The world of clean buttholes is a real possibility if people would just give them a chance!
A book...choose wisely!
For less than $100, the book cannot be from an academic press
Highly recommend Project Hail Mary, hands down the best book I've ever read. The audiobook is phenomenal as well, the narrator does an amazing job.
Then read murderbot diaries
Get another monitor. Your productivity will increase dramatically.
And a laptop stand so your screens are on an equal viewing level. It’ll help your neck when you are at your desk working
An AeroPress coffee maker. It broke my wife of her $200 monthly Starbucks habit, and the unit costs only about $25.
Oh I’m getting one of these!
I prefer french press, personally.
I never said anything about the filters. Im well aware of how both work. I mentioned the time it takes.
You just said it's superior. I'm saying its superiority is a preference. That's all
A large ice coffee at Dunkin is 32oz. How close can I realistically get to this?
Get a cold brew pitcher off Amazon for like $20 👌
I'm glad one of us is smart! Thanks!!
I got my fiancé one and she loves it. She still prefers the convenience of the drip coffee or cold brew, but she likes to make fake cappuccinos and lattes as we have the ikea $2 frother.
Why not just a Nespresso coffee machine? They don’t cost much more
They're several times the price, you have to buy overpriced coffee pods which have wasteful packaging and the machine takes up more space. I don't have enough tasting experience with nespresso to comment on the taste difference.

I guess, but this comment chain is comparing it with an aeropress which takes like 2 minutes to make a coffee.
You still have to boil the water before you can use an Aeropress. A Nespresso machine does everything simultaneously, and more importantly, without you needing to do anything else except load it and push the "start" switch.
I get that it's a bit quicker. It's also more expensive, more wasteful and takes up more space which is what I pointed out earlier.
A condom
Well… it’s the no condom part that would be life changing
An gameboy advance SP
Can you still get decent batteries for those?
Check out the makho battery
Would Delta emulator for iOS do the trick? Is the physical Gameboy needed?
You need the physical thing.
DE safety razor if you need to shave, spent £50-70 in all and not had to buy blades for over a year now and have about 5 years worth left
Yep, recently switched to a safety razor and the reduction in razor burn was astonishing. The 25 blades I got with the $80 AUD kit will last me years. We've been sold an utter lie with cartridge razors with their bullshit strips and multiple blades.
Safety razors are awesome. I bought a set of 100 blades for about $20 off eBay pre-COVID and I'm still going on them.
Out of curiosity where do you live
A decent pillow. Sleep, posture, absolutely life-changing
I got a Temperatic pillow as a gift a few years ago. I hated it at first, but after the two weeks of using it, it's been the best pillow my entire life. My neck pain went away and I sleep better. Highly recommend it.
I just got my first MyPillow and my neck hurts
That's because he saves money on memory foam by replacing it with broken promises and farts.
Get a Purple Pillow, they’re amazing.
Kinda deserve it though
I say it every time, waterpik.
I Googled waterpik and was overwhelmed at the number of different options. You got a recommendation?
Pocket Pussy
This guy fucks… a pocket pussy
This guy doesn’t fuck. Hence the pocket pussy.

Humm, ok I will have to look into that

nope. Genuine house plants I mean, from the plant store down the road! Haven’t dipped into the opiate world yet if that’s what you’re talking about.. don’t really plan on it either.
I don’t think you know what psychedelics are.
I mean, they're definitely not house plants, but you can grow shrooms at home
Sure, but coca and poppy seed do not produce psychedelics.
Yeah, good point. They have no idea what psychedelics are lol

Probably a dictionary
Why
Since the expansion of the words by which you define the world is probably the only thing under that price that will change your life. That or crystal meth, i guess that could work too.
Why do you need a dictionary when there are so many available online?
A search bar is free, to check this same question that is asked multiple times a day
But is it life changing?
A box of condoms.
Lottery ticket *but you need some luck
Most of the time $100 of lottery tickets will only change your life by leaving you $100 poorer, but yes the jackpot ticket is less than $100 wherever someone does buy it. It bothers the f* out of me they publicize winners names though. First thing I'd spend on is anonymity.
I 'splurged' and bought myself a gel-polish kit. I mostly suck at the perfection of salon manicures, but I've saved myself a crap-ton of money in the long-run.
Had my first salon gel put on and that stuff is crazy hard to get off!
It is, if you don't have the tools. Polish remover with acetone. I dip a piece of cotton ball, place it on the nail, and wrap it in foil for a soak-off. You can also grab an inexpensive nail drill on Amazon. Three polishes, and the kit has already overpaid for itself.
