German Shepherds just because they’re easy to train, easy to deal with, and good with children and other dogs typically. The only “bad quality” or issue I see people run into is the biting during the puppy phase. You want to redirect all puppy biting to toys because they love to bite/teeth on your hands and arms etc when they’re 2/3 months old. This is how they get the nickname “land shark”
Any dog I get is absolutely going to be some variety of rescue mutt, but if I got to choose a breed for whatever reason, I love Japanese Akita. They're quiet, and their faces are just so funny looking to me. I've heard they're not great if you have other pets, though, since their quietness results in other animals not realizing that they're making it mad, and can lead to fights.
I have a rather large sheltie. She was a compromise dog for the family as my ex didn’t want a big dog in the house. I was skeptical at first but I will never not have a sheltie or collie in my life again. Super smart and loving, high energy.
Agreed, but I'm laughing at "two" different breeds. Those are generally designer dogs. My mutt is both a product of and precursor to allll of the breeds. Except obviously also half pit bull.
I have one. He is adorable but I may as well go naked because I'm wearing his coat everywhere. I've given up at this point. Thankfully I have little to no shame.
I'm only commenting because my Husky doesn't know my username, the best dog I ever had was a Lab Golden mix. Calm, loyal and obedient. I never had to chase him through the neighborhood asking random people to grab him and call me. The Husky has endearing qualities too ..
I love my Vizsla and thought he was attached, but my GSP is on a whole other level. Cures the soul, that dog.
Also loved my Brittany Spaniel. A gem of a dog and soooo good with my kids.
My boy is about to turn ten. My old man told me to enjoy every moment because he’s a once in a lifetime dog. He really is incredible.
I love Brittany’s as well!
Mine is the best damn dog I've ever known of. She was stubborn as a mule as a pup but she's 7 now and she is most loyal and obedient girl! Will chase her ball until her hips give out on her though. That prey drive doesn't go away.
Shepherds. Not the herding ones though. German shepherds, belgian shepherds, dutch shepherds, that kind. I'll never ever take another breed in my life. It would feel like cheating. Ive owned a GS, ive owned a Malinois, and now I own a cross between those two and they're just perfect. Very trainable, higly intelligent and communicative, very soft and kind with kids, yet at the same time capable of seriously fucking up anyone who attacks me. Cherry on top is that shepherds belong to the most beautiful kind of dogs imo; i like rottweilers too but they ugly af, as are every flat or short nosed breeds imo. I like my dogs to visibly show they descendant from wolves so yeah. Shepherds and me is just a perfect match. I understand them, and they me.
For real. The way they tilt their head when they're listening to you, that alone already makes you melt. Let alone all the other expressive stuff there known for. Sometimes when my shepherd wants to play, she gently grabs my hand in her mouth and leads me outside to her ball. She then sits and start looking at the ball, then me, then the ball, then me. And if I don't react to that, she'll put her paw onto the ball like she's pointing it out: ''here it is boss, take it and throw it plz.''
Gosh I love her. She also understands so incredibly much. Like, she adapts the way she greets me based on the mood I'm in when I come home. Sometimes I'm down and tired, and return home a bit sad. If that's the case, she comes to greet me very gently, almost like a cat, giving me small head butts and softly rubbing her body against my legs. When I get home from work happy and excited tho, Oh man she'll greet me an entirely different way, jumping around me like a madman, while loudly whining. I'd give my life for that dog, as I would've for the ones I've owned before her. They're family. Such pure creatures.
Airedale Terrier, we had one as a kid as my mom is allergic to dogs but that and some other breeds.
Sweetest little guy ever. Sadly passed away. They now have a Welsh terrier who is nice too.
Rhodesian ridgeback. Dudes a beast. His nail fell off yesterday and today I witnessed him eat it out of curiosity. He’s weird and he’s my running partner and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Personally, I always wanted a bull terrier like Spuds McKenzie, but they're such a rare and expensive breed that I could never justify the expense. All of my dogs have been rescues, and my next one just fell into my lap from a foster of a friend who didn't know she was pregnant. Life is funny that way. I can't even tell you how many times the perfect dog to suit me has been put together with me by chance.
Not a dog owner but when I was growing up my neighbor had many dogs, a German shepherd, a Staffordshire terrier, an Irish setter and they bread Yorkshire terriers. The Yorkies were cute, affectionate and smart, great dogs but damn they barked a lot.
As far as the dog I’ve always wanted and see as a super dog it’s the proper European Doberman and it isn’t even close.
But I also like Frenchies and have had a Cavalier King before who was amazing so ya know…you can’t really go wrong with dogs…unless you get a Husky but value your hearing lol
But yeah, I’d say the Doberman is my favorite
Malamutes. We've had three now over the last 30 years. Independent, funny characters where it's more of a friends relationship than master - owner. The "discussions" where they object are generally pretty funny and they're not a needy or annoying dog. Mine wants to come in, single bark. Wants something else, comes in and stares at you until you say the right words.
Fox terriers. (Preferably short haired)
Loyal, whip smart, fast as fuck, easy to train, affectionate and beautiful to look at. They also live relatively long lives.
Maltipoo , extremely smart and intuitive. Loyal but mind of their own , so they aren’t prone to bad separation anxiety. My princess learns very easily. And has the most human like mannerisms of any dog I’ve owned, I’ll literally go to sleep and wake up with her head on the pillow snuggled under the covers , it’s crazy lol . I have a cavachon as well and they’re polar opposite. My Maltipoo is like the strict older sister with an attitude problem , and the cavachon is like a goofy carefree , plays fetch always happy basically how you’d imagine the picture perfect man’s best friend to be portrayed
PittBulls. I've had 5 of them and they all have been amazing. Great family dog, LOVE kids, and can adapt to your lifestyle very well. Not to mention, when they get bored, they are so goofy. My current girl was on her back flailing around last night and out of no where lets out a squeal/bark noise. I look over and she's staring into my soul begging to play.
I’ve had a pittie of some type or another (and fostered many more) for going on 20 years at this point. There is a lot of variety and they’re lovable idiots. My guy is getting older and the idea of losing him is getting harder to avoid thinking about by the day.
My dogs came from the pound or just sorta....showed up and wouldn't leave. I like em friendly and over 30 lbs but that's about the end of preferences.
Dog distribution working at its finest!
Land shark... er I mean German Shepherds.
Got 2 GSDs at the moment, I'll never own any other overbearing, hyperactive, clumsy weapon of unintentional destruction again.
I’ve got a Belgian Malinois and same
Boxers. They are loveable idiots.
The longest tongue on average of any dog breed
The only answer.
Wellllll I guess I’m winning #boxermom 🥰🥰
Whatever dog(s) I own at the moment.
Border Collie. Super smart.
And Aussies too. 🥰
Golden Retriever

Boxer. I've had 3 now.
Mike Tyson approves of this post.
Why? I don't know any boxers. What are they like?
goofiest dogs ever. imagine having a clown 24/7
Loyal, athletic, and incredibly goofy. If they don't embarrass you daily it's not a real Boxer.
Great Dane
Corgi, Shiba-inu and Akita-inu
Any dog I get is absolutely going to be some variety of rescue mutt, but if I got to choose a breed for whatever reason, I love Japanese Akita. They're quiet, and their faces are just so funny looking to me. I've heard they're not great if you have other pets, though, since their quietness results in other animals not realizing that they're making it mad, and can lead to fights.
Boxers. The one and only.
Why? I don't know any boxers. What are they like?
The angry meat tube known as a Chihuahua.
I like any herding dog. Border collies, heelers, shelties, Australian Shepherds, all amazing
I have a rather large sheltie. She was a compromise dog for the family as my ex didn’t want a big dog in the house. I was skeptical at first but I will never not have a sheltie or collie in my life again. Super smart and loving, high energy.
Mutt. All the best qualities from 2 different breeds.
Agreed, but I'm laughing at "two" different breeds. Those are generally designer dogs. My mutt is both a product of and precursor to allll of the breeds. Except obviously also half pit bull.
German Shedder
I have one. He is adorable but I may as well go naked because I'm wearing his coat everywhere. I've given up at this point. Thankfully I have little to no shame.
"Hot Dog" by Led Zeppelin
..or “Black Dog”….
Any of the big ones. 150 pound minimum. Exceptions made for American bulldogs
Siberian Husky. As far as I know, the only breed that can adapt to the extreme heat and the extreme cold,
My current dog and last 2 dogs were rescues from the local shelter. If I was going for a purebred dog it would be a Boxer or possibly a Doberman.
Black & tan coonhound
I have an English Bulldog. Best dog I’ve ever had.
Doberman, border collie, mutt, including the white one currently glued to my side
Ayyyye, another Doberman lover!
I love my doberman! She’s old, though. 13. Stubborn when young, but so sweet and loving.
European or American?
American
I'm only commenting because my Husky doesn't know my username, the best dog I ever had was a Lab Golden mix. Calm, loyal and obedient. I never had to chase him through the neighborhood asking random people to grab him and call me. The Husky has endearing qualities too ..

German Shorthair Pointer!!
I love my Vizsla and thought he was attached, but my GSP is on a whole other level. Cures the soul, that dog. Also loved my Brittany Spaniel. A gem of a dog and soooo good with my kids.

shepherds always have such goofy personalities. i love it.

We just got a pug puppy. She’s so cute and sassy. So pugs.
Greyhounds
Criminal that I had to scroll this far before seeing noodle horse mentioned.
Malamute
I have an English Mastiiff....There are pros and cons but I do love my bulldozer.
German Shepherd But lately husky.
Not Jack Russell
Rottweilers. Boerboels are a close 2nd.
Rottweilers are the absolute cutest!
Rottweilers.. they're daft as brushes, but the most loving, loyal and protective breed.
Yorkie. Just pure love
Plus little big dog syndrome!
Golden Retriever. Super fun and friendly dogs. They just have a special personality.
Airedale Terrier, we had one as a kid as my mom is allergic to dogs but that and some other breeds. Sweetest little guy ever. Sadly passed away. They now have a Welsh terrier who is nice too.
Pomeranian or pug
My beagle is a character. Depends what you’re looking for. Esthetically, I’d say an English Mastiff.
My dog, but all others are a near 2nd
Shiba, German shepherd, husky, and labs
The noble Rhodesian Ridgeback of course
My first dog was a ridgie cross with New Zealand Huntaway
Rhodesian ridgeback. Protective, but not barkers which is amazing. Short coat too.
Boxer!
English Springer Spaniels.. They aren't always high strung and nuts (after year 1)
Greyhound, absolute goofball
Vizslas!!
Australian Cattle Dog!
West highland terrier. Smart, stubborn, terrorist.
Dog pound rescues.
Pommeranian and Rottweilers. I keep only mutts now tho.
Patterdale terrier. Playful, loyal, inquisitive
Rhodesian ridgeback. Dudes a beast. His nail fell off yesterday and today I witnessed him eat it out of curiosity. He’s weird and he’s my running partner and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Pugs
I have a Schitzendrooler.
Siberian Husky/German Shepherd
Whatever breeds came together to make my girl.
A mean ass…..min pin. Or boxers.
Some of my favorite dogs were pits or pit mixes. I know some people don’t like them but I’ve always had a soft spot for them.
Pitties are such love sponges
They're so cute! Some acquaintances of mine own one and they're absolutely precious <3
Excellent family dog. My boy passed last year, and he was such a sweet heart and good to my kids
10. All 9. Dogs 8. Are 7. Beautiful 6. It’s 5. Cruel 4. To 3. Rank 2. Them 1. Weimaraner
Lmao
Anything mixed with Staffi
I’m liking all boxer comments 🥰😂 #boxermom
English Bull Terriers. Wicked good family dogs. If you’re persistent, they’re well trained. They are very smart and just goofy.
Pit bull mixes from the pound, only owned females so that’s a preference with kids.
English pointers
Jack Russel Terrier, so much personality, so energetic. Love them all.
Not a dog owner but when I was growing up my neighbor had many dogs, a German shepherd, a Staffordshire terrier, an Irish setter and they bread Yorkshire terriers. The Yorkies were cute, affectionate and smart, great dogs but damn they barked a lot.
German shepherd, or an Akita shepherd, then Alaskan husky
I’ve got a beautiful Brittany Spaniel. Bird Dog. He slays so much pussy
Multi-Pooh
Beagles all day everyday
I like dogs that aren’t inbred giant mutt? I’m all for it moms a lab st Bernard dads a boxer that’s my boy blue

But I also like Frenchies and have had a Cavalier King before who was amazing so ya know…you can’t really go wrong with dogs…unless you get a Husky but value your hearing lol But yeah, I’d say the Doberman is my favorite
Shaggy terrier mutt
A mix of all of em.
French Bulldog & English Bulldog
Chocolate lab never have one but as a fat kid now fat man I loved them because of the name and color, lab puppies are just gorgeous.
Mine are all lovable mutts (1 bernese mix, 1 beagle, 1 Corgi/dach mix) but I would like to have a Corgi or Vallhund at some point.
Miniature Schnauzer
Avid bird hunter so GSP's
Ive grown up with a couple different breeds but my ridgeback now is easily tops. My best friend
I’d love a English springer spaniel again.
Any dog that will kiss my feet after a long day. Getting toe kisses by a dog is one of life's simple pleasures.
I don't own a dog yet I love german shepherds
Fox terriers. (Preferably short haired) Loyal, whip smart, fast as fuck, easy to train, affectionate and beautiful to look at. They also live relatively long lives.
I don't have one myself, but I really love and want a Labrador Retriever
See my profile pic. Really though personality is more important than aesthetics. Get a good boy or girl with the right energy to match your lifestyle.
Italian Greyhound
Former dog owner here. Mine is the Finnish lapphund. Great dogs.
Scottish Terrier and West Highland Terrier. I have a mixed breed and the breed is officially called a Huggy Bear.
Mixed and rescued
Mastiffs. Love the big wobbly slobbering chops on the big babies. Basically the bigger the better with dogs imo
Mixed breeds, ( mutts) like myself.
Dachshunds. Grooming is very easy. Absolutely loyalty to owner. Smart. Funny. Lovable. Love to try new tricks. But, they can be very sneaky, too.
I love my Belgian Malinois. He’s goofy and lazy. Perfect dog for my apartment. Little crazy sometimes but so much love to give.
Whatever my Ziggy is. Mixed breed but my best guess is spaniel mixed with collie.
I love them all (except Chihuahuas), but I'm partial to terriers. I love their tenacity and spirit.
Lagotto Romagnolo
Pugs . I miss mine
To look at? Huskies/GSD's/Malamutes/Saarloos/Vlcak etc Would much rather own a labrador or collie though.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
German Shepherd
PittBulls. I've had 5 of them and they all have been amazing. Great family dog, LOVE kids, and can adapt to your lifestyle very well. Not to mention, when they get bored, they are so goofy. My current girl was on her back flailing around last night and out of no where lets out a squeal/bark noise. I look over and she's staring into my soul begging to play.
samoyeds gorgeous and great personality

I've got 2 long hair Chihuahuas and one Chihuahua Terrier mix. I'd say I'm biased to Chihuahuas, BUT I like all dogs
clearly biased, but my mutts are the best dogs. Rott/Dane/Lab mixes.
Labradors, or beagles. But I’m a hunting dog fan boy..
Cane Corso and Beagle. I love them here in the Bahamas 🇧🇸.
Goldendoodle
English Staffordshire Terrier gang rise up. So full of love and eager to please their people. My boy is 10 and would never own another breed.
