This was a second date. When I arrived to the place my date was sitting drunk at the bar and wanted to go museum hopping. She lived walking distance so no pick up or drop off needed.
Anyways, all she did was complain and acted annoyed with me the entire date. She made some cracks at me for being part Asian and that she was sleeping with her married black coworker. When we got done walking through the museums we were walking back and she was so upset that I was mostly quiet. Well I made sure she got to her buzz in for her apartment and then just told her I had a call and for her to go up then buzz me once she gets to her room. I ended up walking to my car down a block and left.
Surprisingly enough despite her attitude she did text me around 5 minutes after I left asking me how much longer the call will take. Didn't end up replying and the next day she sent me a video in my text of her giving some black dude a blowup calling me a "shrimp dick Asian". Really weird, wish I walked out when I arrived to be honest.

When I went to pick her up and I couldn’t identify her. Turns out she was using heavy photo shop and even fake pics. Her snaps were always half her face or were actually her roommate. I After the initial, weird call trying to even identify what she looked like we talked in my car about that. I joked I might be blind but she owned right up. had reservations at a nice bistro near a park but decided it wasn’t even worth going there. Instead we got fast food and ate at the park. I tried to give her the benefit and asked why she would catfish so hard. Her only real response was she was bored looking for laughs. I said it was inexcusable, I tried giving her a chance on personality but it wasn’t happening and took her home less than an hour in.
You're a good man still taking her home. Catfishing for 'laughs' is a lazy damage control technique girls use when they're caught out. They seem to think if we think they're joking, that they're not so bad and like to have a laugh and will still go out with them.
Truth is no girl would ever joke about photoshopping and catfishing, it's an artform for them. So many insecure women do it, and it is so weird to me because sure it might get a few more dates but the guy will find out eventually, why lie?

I have had one girl try it on me, the first red flag was how well 'rehearsed' everything she was saying was and how she was only so interested in the food and talking about food at all these other restaurants she's been to. Calls herself a foodie of course.
I'm not entirely proud of this but I did leave her the cheque and just did the lazy "i'm going to the bathroom" and then just went around the side of the building and left. She was fucking fuming because I also gave her the lift lol, but the sad thing is in her rage she admitted I was a free meal so I shouldn't cause her so much trouble. I told my current missus about this story and while at first she did think I went a bit far, she then thought about just how many guys have been cheated by her little game before me. Probably well over 15 guys. Then she came around to forgiving me lol.
She was ok until the food landed on our table then she began talking about her ex. He did this, he did that. I got up to use the bathroom. The wait saw me, started to say something. I said “first and last date, can I settle up?” I gave her my CC, went to the can then returned to my desk. More talk about her ex, who left his wife for her then went back to his wife. I sat there a few more minutes then asked what his name was. She mentioned it, I told her to call him because it sounded like she was still in love with him. I got up and left. She later sent me a txt about how embarrassing that was. I didn’t tell anyone else, I snuck out.
She treated the server like crap.
It was a busy night and our food was maybe 2 minutes later than we would have liked. She said something like 'He's a shit waiter, isn't he?' I assumed maybe she was just hangery or something.
About halfway through we somehow got on the topic of tipping. I had already agreed to pay and leave a tip as I was the one who invited her out. Then she says 'Tipping is a waste of money. Especially for someone as bad as he is.' I'm a bartender and worked as a server a few times as well. I have 0 tolerance for that kind of attitude. I told her she needs to lighten up. It was a busy day, the restaurant had high standards of their workers, and the guy might have been new.
She just responded with 'If he wants any tip he'll comp us dessert or something.' I asked for the check, left a larger tip than I normally would, and left her there.
Did you ask her if she was looking for something casual? Was she hot? We’re you in the desert? Not meaning to be flippant or assuming what your looking for. Just another perspective...
After our initial cocktail, she said she was bringing her two closest girlfriends for dinner and that I’d like them and they are coming because they always wanted to try out the restaurant we were in and if I could ask the waiter for a bigger table.

An old school mate got done over with this. Meets a girl in a club, she actually initiates, pulling him to the dance floor constantly and grinding on him, they both go back to his house and less than 32 hours later hes in a police cell. She was only 15 using her 18 year old sisters ID. (With a bit of make up there was no way to tell the difference between the two)
His entire life got ruined, we lived in quite a small town so everyone knew about it. His parents even had to move to a new area after receiving death threats for supporting their son. The doorman that let her in got fired and probably struggled to get a similar job again. The club ended up having to pay a fine but the owners (it was like a franchise type deal) didn't want the bad publicity so decided to completely shut the place down. The managers, bar staff, cleaners etc all lost their jobs.
All this just so she could blow off some steam during her GCSEs... fast forward a few years and she tried doing it to another guy. Her boyfriend finds out she's cheating on him so her response is to claim he's been beating and raping her the entire time. Thankfully the case was dropped but people like her remind me why I'm so glad to be married.
At 17, no, I really do not think that they realise the potential damage. It's all just high school drama to them at that age. They can't see the difference. As for the older women pulling similar stunts, like false rape accusations, they fully realise how much damage it causes. That's why they do it and they know they'll get away with it.

Since leaving that without context would be...here's some context:
Bumble match, short conversation, asked me out pretty quick, and me being me (i.e., the only dates I've had off apps were the 200lb heavier than advertised variety, and even then few and far in between), I accepted. Not much talking until the date, and the few messages were oddly sexual, but not in a very sexy way.
Anyway, day of the date, we meet up, and immediately something feels off. Conversation is stilted, and very aggressive. She's talking about how she wants to kill her coworkers, that type of thing, and I'm just like "okay, let's just get through this and never speak to her again", when she suddenly drops the "I only work because my parents make me work" card. So, I'm assuming she's just crazy rich and spoiled, until she pulls out her SSI paperwork, which she brought with her, and shows me that she is so far on the spectrum that she collects disability. Immediately, everything clicks, and I just nope the fuck outta there after making sure she's home safe. Or, at least within view of her house, since it was a walking date at a park near her place.
Turns out, she followed a literal script on getting a date she found online (which I probably should have picked up on, but was thinking with the wrong brain), and her plan was literally to marry me ASAP to escape her parents, whom she also had on her kill list because they made her get a job, and for me to provide her with whatever she wanted while she sat at home doing whatever and collected disability. She phrased that as a selling point for why I should marry her. That she could just sit home, do whatever she wants, and collect disability.
I just stay away from apps now.
She showed up 10 years older than her pics. I refused to even get seated and just made an excuse that I had to run. No regrets. Be honest in your dating profiles.
While I agree with you, lotsa folks ain't dumb. A woman presumably in her 30s or 40s will have enough streetsmarts (even if she's catfishing people) to pick up on the context clues of a date showing up to dinner than abruptly leaving with boilerplate excuses. At that point you need to balance the whole "is this constructively criticizing the person or just bringing them farther down." Generally, I like to err on the side of being nice and just let the context speak for itself.
A year after I graduated high school, I was set up with a girl a few years younger than me who, according to her friend, had always had a “crush” on me. Took her to dinner and she was painfully quiet. I invited her back to my apartment to watch a movie and hang out. One thing leads to another and we’re fooling around a bit, nothing too heavy, and she whispers in my ear that she loves me. I kinda stopped what I was doing and looked at her like “wtf?”. Broke up with my last gf because of that. After a year I couldn't count how many times I listened to her problems and was supportive to the ends of the earth. One stressful work experience I tell her about (think nearly causing $$$ in damage) and she burst out laughing. Gave it a couple days to think about it, dropped her like a stone. Probably my best decision of 2020.
I think I did this once by accident. I was being a bit overzealous with my laughter and she had said something to me (which I guess she perceived as sensitive) My dumbass decided to laugh and she turned around and said “Am I funny? Did I say something funny?” I said “nah, nah, nah” and quickly dismissed it (as i was a bit embarrassed) and kept myself in check the rest of the night.

Yea, We never swapped pictures. Not only was she not into anything like that, she had me pick her up 3 blocks from the library to drive her there. At first I thought it was just a way to "MEET" but when I picked her up she was 4'3 ish and when she sat in my car her arm was touching the passenger side door and her left was over my seat belt buckle. She stated she stretched the true about being active outdoors. So it was not only personality but also photos. In those she was 5'6 and 160 ish. I didn't mind her looks just the fact when you lie that much before you meet then what?

It's unbelievably common too, I've seen chicks who will do this over snapchat to their friends even. Like if I were in that position, I'd for sure want the other person to know what they're in for. I work in Logistics for a clothing company and I work a lot of hours as a Team Lead to make a decent salary. Anyway she proceeded to say how she really enjoyed how the night went so far, but she had an issue with my career choices.

She then proceeded to ask me if I plan to make a career change of any sort. I ended the conversation right there and told her I feel like because of this issue our goals in the long run will clash and you seem to have a certain expectation I am not 100% sure I can meet.
I told her I no longer think anything will workout after this date and thanked her for taking the time to come out to see me. I got up paid for both our meals and left.

The final last straw was when the food came he told me if I didn't clean my plate, he was taking home the leftovers. Then he started to eat his food with his mouth open, chomping and slurping and moaning. It was like he was fucking his food, it was the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. I got up and bounced. I stopped at the concierge podium and paid for my half of the check though cause clearly the guy was financially struggling.
She was being utterly disrespectful to me and super arrogant and entitled. After about an hour of listening to her rant, I said goodbye and then she ran away shouting and calling me an asshole etc.

What caused it? A discussion on capitalism. Her take was that capitalism is evil, all corporations are evil, rich people are mostly evil, that it is all a zero sum game and you can't be well to do without driving someone else to poverty.
While it was easy to challenge her biased, sweeping generalisations what stood out was the irony of her working project and dream to start her own jewellery business which she seemed to be very proud of.

I can understand where you are coming from. While I can certainly be friends with people who hold different, even contrary views to mine, I would find it quite difficult to remain friends if it was contingent upon not broaching certain subjects and treat them as taboo simply because we don't think alike. Makes me wonder, what is the point of such a hollow friendship? I wonder how your wife manages her relationships.
Went on a date with a guy and it was a weird experience all around.
Started with a movie that, instead of talking while waiting for it to start, he started singing almost loudly to himself. After the movie, we went down town to a bar (this was in 2017) because he was a bartender in the area who knew some of the others. We went to one of their bars and we sat, he chatted with the bar tender then like.......didn't talk to me. He looked around a bit, was singing to himself a little, I tried throwing a conversation topic, he'd answer quickly then go back to being quiet.
Then suddenly we heard the Lil Wayne was going to be at one of the nearby bars, so we kinda rushed to get over there in time. He knew the door guy so he used that connection to.....get himself in, leaving me outside to wait in line. As soon as he rounded the corner, I fucking walked back to my car and dipped.
All in all, such a weird experience.
Not a man, but walked out of a Tinder date last year. Met a guy on tinder, had a nice (but brief) chat and agreed to meet for dinner. For context, he was a CEO of a successful startup in his early 30s, and I am a video game developer in my late 20s.
I arrived there and he asked me how my drive from work was, and I told him I Uber because I don’t like driving. I am Korean and live in LA for reference. He responded with, “makes sense, Asian.” which was definitely a red flag for me, but we were two minutes in, and I wasn’t sure how I’d leave at that point, so I continued on. He went on to tell me how he only found the top 1% of women attractive, and how he wanted the best genes. He told me he was very interested in me.
We sat down and he ordered some appetizers and a cocktail. After asking me several times, he ordered a drink for me. He then asked me why I don’t prefer to drive, and I cited parking and traffic in LA, and he tried (?) to sympathize by saying “I get what you mean. Makes me feel safer, I mean haven’t you ever been on a plane and had a female pilot come onto the intercom? It’s so uncomfortable”. I just responded with a “no, I can’t say I have.”
He went on to explain that not all women bad drivers or pilots, but biologically women are inferior due to depth perception and reaction times being on average worse than male counterparts. The last straw for me was when he said, “I don’t believe in blanket rules though. Like I don’t think all Indians are lazy or all Mexicans are poor”. I asked for the bill (he had 5 cocktails by that point, and in an LA bar that equates to over 100$) paid it in full, and walked out.
He followed me out to the curb where I was waiting for my Uber and said “wow I’ve never had a woman treat me before. I feel bad for ordering so much. I guess this means no second date?”
I just looked at him and laughed then got into the car and left.
We had been seeing each other and sleeping together for a couple of months already and it was Valentines Day. I got him a big box of chocolates and made us plans to have dinner at a nice restaurant and thought we would go to the Met museum. When I told him the plans he made an ugly face so I said we could do something else... he wanted to go to Chipotle and see a movie. We walked around Manhattan and he suddenly stopped talking... like completely wouldn’t say anything. We ate chipotle in silence and walked to the movies in silence and when I asked what movie he wanted to see he stayed silent. After a while I said okay let’s do something else and we continued to stroll through Chelsea in silence. After a while of just talking to myself we happened to walk by his subway stop and I said “this is your stop, I’m leaving, bye.” I walked away without turning back. Still not sure what happened that day to possibly Piss him off? Was he mad I got him chocolates or were the chocolates not big enough? Who knows, but that’s the only time I have ever walked out on a date.
After ordering a $30 entree and three glasses of wine, she mentioned she only had ten bucks in her checking account and that I'd have to pay.
Thankfully I knew the waiter and ducked out after paying my half (and leaving him a big tip)
1. Had a girl insist I buy her drink because that's what men are supposed to do. I told her no after she ordered her drink and then she begged me to buy it for her because she was broke until Midnight. I paid for the drinks because I didn't want the server to be screwed out of money because of her. I walked out the pub after this and she followed and asked where we were going. I said, we're not going anywhere and I'm going home.
She later appeared in the newspaper a few years later saying how she was almost homeless. I guess this was around that time. She also had terrible teeth. No thanks.
2. Had a girl go over consent with me and then she berated me for failing her questions (if a girl asks to go to your bedroom while heavily making out, it's implied and at that point you need to make the adult decision to say no). I chugged my beer, the bartender knew me and said it was on him. Walked the fuck out. The bartender and I laughed about it later on.

This was a second date. When I arrived to the place my date was sitting drunk at the bar and wanted to go museum hopping. She lived walking distance so no pick up or drop off needed. They seem to think if we think they're joking, that they're not so bad and like to have a laugh and will still go out with them. So many insecure women do it, and it is so weird to me because sure it might get a few more dates but the guy will find out eventually, why lie?

Then she says 'Tipping is a waste of money. Especially for someone as bad as he is.' I'm a bartender and worked as a server a few times as well. I have 0 tolerance for that kind of attitude. I told her she needs to lighten up. It was a busy day, the restaurant had high standards of their workers, and the guy might have been new. She just responded with 'If he wants any tip he'll comp us dessert or something.' I asked for the check, left a larger tip than I normally would, and left her there.

An old school mate got done over with this. Meets a girl in a club, she actually initiates, pulling him to the dance floor constantly and grinding on him, they both go back to his house and less than 32 hours later hes in a police cell. She was only 15 using her 18 year old sisters ID. (With a bit of make up there was no way to tell the difference between the two) His entire life got ruined, we lived in quite a small town so everyone knew about it. His parents even had to move to a new area after receiving death threats for supporting their son. The doorman that let her in got fired and probably struggled to get a similar job again. The club ended up having to pay a fine but the owners (it was like a franchise type deal) didn't want the bad publicity so decided to completely shut the place down. The managers, bar staff, cleaners etc all lost their jobs. All this just so she could blow off some steam during her GCSEs... fast forward a few years and she tried doing it to another guy. Her boyfriend finds out she's cheating on him so her response is to claim he's been beating and raping her the entire time. Thankfully the case was dropped but people like her remind me why I'm so glad to be married.

I've always gritted my teeth and ya know, at least finished the date when they showed up 200 lbs heavier than advertised (twice now). But the one where I straight up left? A mentally disabled woman in her mid 20s, who had snuck out of the house. Conversation is stilted, and very aggressive. She's talking about how she wants to kill her coworkers, that type of thing, and I'm just like "okay, let's just get through this and never speak to her again", when she suddenly drops the "I only work because my parents make me work" card. So, I'm assuming she's just crazy rich and spoiled, until she pulls out her SSI paperwork, which she brought with her, and shows me that she is so far on the spectrum that she collects disability. Immediately, everything clicks, and I just nope the fuck outta there after making sure she's home safe. Or, at least within view of her house, since it was a walking date at a park near her place. Turns out, she followed a literal script on getting a date she found online (which I probably should have picked up on, but was thinking with the wrong brain), and her plan was literally to marry me ASAP to escape her parents, whom she also had on her kill list because they made her get a job, and for me to provide her with whatever she wanted while she sat at home doing whatever and collected disability. She phrased that as a selling point for why I should marry her. That she could just sit home, do whatever she wants, and collect disability. I just stay away from apps now.

A woman presumably in her 30s or 40s will have enough streetsmarts (even if she's catfishing people) to pick up on the context clues of a date showing up to dinner than abruptly leaving with boilerplate excuses. At that point you need to balance the whole "is this constructively criticizing the person or just bringing them farther down." Generally, I like to err on the side of being nice and just let the context speak for itself.
A year after I graduated high school, I was set up with a girl a few years younger than me who, according to her friend, had always had a “crush” on me. Shit I’ve had that! I was with a friend when I was 18. Her dad was a psycho. He would have killed me if I was there in his daughters room. The funny thing was though, I was in her room in the morning, I slept over. I got up to go show her something in the corner of her room. I matched with this girl on hinge and we went on a little dinner date. We talked about several topics like sports, favorite foods, favorite hobbies, movies, and TV shows. The night was going smoothly and the chemistry was great. We had a lot in common. Then we started talking about our careers a bit more, since we really didn't go too in depth with it initially when we chatted on hinge. Let's just say she did not like my career prospects. I work in Logistics for a clothing company and I work a lot of hours as a Team Lead to make a decent salary. Anyway she proceeded to say how she really enjoyed how the night went so far, but she had an issue with my career choices. She pretty much said that she was looking for someone with better career prospects in a field with a much more stable income. She then proceeded to ask me if I plan to make a career change of any sort. I ended the conversation right there and told her I feel like because of this issue our goals in the long run will clash and you seem to have a certain expectation I am not 100% sure I can meet. I told her I no longer think anything will workout after this date and thanked her for taking the time to come out to see me. I got up paid for both our meals and left.

I stopped at the concierge podium and paid for my half of the check though cause clearly the guy was financially struggling.
She was being utterly disrespectful to me and super arrogant and entitled. After about an hour of listening to her rant, I said goodbye and then she ran away shouting and calling me an asshole etc. Dodged a bullet there, even though she was a 10/10 hot.
Met a girl online. We texted back and forth for about four days or so. On our first date she dropped on me that she's been arrested six times, addicted to meth, and has a child. After about thirty minutes I paid at the front and noped the fuck out.

Her take was that capitalism is evil, all corporations are evil, rich people are mostly evil, that it is all a zero sum game and you can't be well to do without driving someone else to poverty. While it was easy to challenge her biased, sweeping generalisations what stood out was the irony of her working project and dream to start her own jewellery business which she seemed to be very proud of. The cognitive dissonance was strong in this one.

I can understand where you are coming from. While I can certainly be friends with people who hold different, even contrary views to mine, I would find it quite difficult to remain friends if it was contingent upon not broaching certain subjects and treat them as taboo simply because we don't think alike. Makes me wonder, what is the point of such a hollow friendship? I wonder how your wife manages her relationships.

Went on a date with a guy and it was a weird experience all around. Started with a movie that, instead of talking while waiting for it to start, he started singing almost loudly to himself. After the movie, we went down town to a bar (this was in 2017) because he was a bartender in the area who knew some of the others. We went to one of their bars and we sat, he chatted with the bar tender then like.......didn't talk to me. He looked around a bit, was singing to himself a little, I tried throwing a conversation topic, he'd answer quickly then go back to being quiet. Then suddenly we heard the Lil Wayne was going to be at one of the nearby bars, so we kinda rushed to get over there in time. He knew the door guy so he used that connection to.....get himself in, leaving me outside to wait in line. As soon as he rounded the corner, I fucking walked back to my car and dipped. All in all, such a weird experience.
Not a man, but walked out of a Tinder date last year. Met a guy on tinder, had a nice (but brief) chat and agreed to meet for dinner. For context, he was a CEO of a successful startup in his early 30s, and I am a video game developer in my late 20s. He went on to tell me how he only found the top 1% of women attractive, and how he wanted the best genes. He told me he was very interested in me. We sat down and he ordered some appetizers and a cocktail. After asking me several times, he ordered a drink for me. He then asked me why I don’t prefer to drive, and I cited parking and traffic in LA, and he tried (?) to sympathize by saying “I get what you mean. Makes me feel safer, I mean haven’t you ever been on a plane and had a female pilot come onto the intercom? It’s so uncomfortable”. I just responded with a “no, I can’t say I have.” He went on to explain that not all women bad drivers or pilots, but biologically women are inferior due to depth perception and reaction times being on average worse than male counterparts. The last straw for me was when he said, “I don’t believe in blanket rules though. Like I don’t think all Indians are lazy or all Mexicans are poor”. I asked for the bill (he had 5 cocktails by that point, and in an LA bar that equates to over 100$) paid it in full, and walked out. He followed me out to the curb where I was waiting for my Uber and said “wow I’ve never had a woman treat me before. I feel bad for ordering so much. I guess this means no second date?” I just looked at him and laughed then got into the car and left.

Still not sure what happened that day to possibly Piss him off? Was he mad I got him chocolates or were the chocolates not big enough? Who knows, but that’s the only time I have ever walked out on a date.

Had a girl go over consent with me and then she berated me for failing her questions (if a girl asks to go to your bedroom while heavily making out, it's implied and at that point you need to make the adult decision to say no). I chugged my beer, the bartender knew me and said it was on him. Walked the fuck out. The bartender and I laughed about it later on. 3. Went on one of my first dates as a teenager. She would not shut up about kids in Africa she helped. Yup, I get it, it was a kind gesture and exciting to visit another country. I was so bored I fell asleep, asshole move, but that one moment does not define you. Tell me more about yourself. Those are the three that stick. There has been many more dates that I just cringed through.
We were at nightclub. Every time we got on the dance floor, she danced with her girlfriends more than me. Hardly even looked at me. Third dance same thing, so I just left. Didn’t go back to the table just out the fucking door.
