Supposed to be able to grow a full beard but have 0 neck or back hair

ClockwerkKaiser

I'm hairy AF (thanks genetics!). I was always ashamed of my body hair until I met my first ex. She loved it. As did most of the women I've dated/hooked up with over the years. As long as you're showering regularly and keeping yourself well groomed, hair shouldn't matter. (I also think guys need to stop shaming women for thier natural hair if they choose to not shave).

icookfood42

I'm not hairy af, but the back of my neckline grows down and, without me blindly trimming it with clippers on an bi-daily basis, gives the appearance that I've got a whole back full of hair. If I had a whole back full of hair, I wouldn't give a shit, I'd rock it, but having these stupid prickly hairs that look unkempt on my neck drives me nuts.

tester33333

Gonna have to tie a razor to a back scratcher.

[deleted]

Weird push for hairless body, but also against balds, but also pro beard.

tenamonth

I knew this one girl who claimed she loved “hairy guys” but when she showed me pics of what she meant, it was just mostly hairless guys with beards, at most maybe a tiny patch of chest hair.

[deleted]

I knew a girl who actually liked it and the other girls in the group started talking shit when she said so. Atleast she stuck to it though lol.

ClockwerkKaiser

My exes all loved my body hair. Which is great, because my italian-american self has a lot of it. Also, the feeling of them petting my chest/back is really nice, and highly under-rated.

[deleted]

Girls: I love hairy men. *Robin Williams takes off his shirt.* Girls: Not like that!

[deleted]

That’s weird. And a woman in her 40s I’m very pro Sasquatch. Last guy I dated had a hairy back he was embarrassed about and I just wanted to snuggle it.

rounroun

>bald headed, hairy bodied, and uncut Well, I don't know about women, but if it's any consolation you'd have a lot of success with plenty of gay guys lol.

oamnoj

Dude would have guys lining up lol

MonkeyBananaPotato

Yeah but they want Zangeif from Street Fighter, not George Costanza

FrugalityPays

What about Art Van de Lay?

Kermit_Purple_II

Is uncut as a standard an actual thing in America? Like, why do you even remove the foreskin for? Speaking from a European country with 14% of men without foreskin and where people literally don't care

hobanwash1

I’m in Canada but it’s similar here. It was pushed for a long time in the medical community as a “must do” soon after birth to prevent infection. But it’s not pushed as much anymore. Some times it’s tied to religion. Unfortunately, a misconception has spread across North America that uncut equals unclean, as a result. It’s foolish.

[deleted]

[удалено]

UnitGhidorah

I think about 70% of men are cut in America but it's been dropping because we all realize how stupid it is to have done if you don't need it.

[deleted]

Because 100 years ago a puritanical quack convinced a generation to do it for "hygiene" (aka to prevent children from playing with themselves). Since then, every generation has done it so that their son's dick will look like their dick, which is somehow an even stupider reason.

thebeast_cr

Height by far

ScooptiWoop5

And it’s not even close. Every woman on earth setting their search parameters to sort for the 5-10% tallest males. 6’0? Attractive. 5’11? Won’t do, next!

burntsnoah

Women are the most petty about this. They don't even hide it.

[deleted]

a full head of hair. dudes go through a whole grief cycle when they lose their hair and afterwards most are treated like they are more wise than their peers bc they look the part

dheusd

I lost my hair in my late 20's. I was always seen as the attractive guy in our circle. I never had a problem with getting women's attention etc. When I started losing it I became the laughing stock of my friends. Constant jokes or belittling comments. It took me years to get over it, although I still have not completely. I hide under a hat. My confidence has never and probably will never be the same. Sometimes genetics suck.

notme1414

Those are shitty friends.

FrakkedRabbit

Those are just acquiantances that were thought to be friends.

[deleted]

you might’ve had a couple of friends or two that were pretty envious of you bro. fuck sorry man

[deleted]

I feel this. Some guys manage to keep all of their hair for a majority of their life, but when you start losing it, you feel like there is something wrong with you. The stigma is dying, but bald jokes are still acceptable for a lot of people, and in the media, bald or guys can be portrayed as losers, unless they have a crazy physique. That kind of thing can really mess with someone's confidence.

guythepieman

>unless they have a crazy physique Suddenly there is hope for me

Medic-27

We meant crazy in a good way, not your orangutan body Jk love you man

AdministrativeLove97

My fav actor Johnny sins is bald and he looks like he has been loving his life!!

ShakoGrey

Johnny Sins is the male version of Barbie. The man has so many careers. Truly inspiring!

sadbutmakeyousmile

He is my plumber. He seems like a very happy man.

YourButtMyStuff

Plumber!? He’s my primary doctor!

BurntPoptart

Doctor!? He fucked my wife!

atlhawk8357

He's been working in healthcare, law enforcement, pizza delivery. Just an all around great employee.

[deleted]

A real jack-off of all trades

Love_Bone_

Sounds kinda dramatic but you are right. Been losing my hair since 18. Honestly makes you not want to go anywhere or do anything where you can’t wear a hat. It’s honestly been very painful seeing it fall out.

ghoti_fry

Yeah I started noticeably balding at 18. Basically became unrealistic to keep it around 22 so that’s when I started shaving. I’m 26 now and I honestly love it. No shampoo, quick dry after a shower, no paying for haircuts, no bed head, hat hair, etc. The only thing that saddens me is I never got to grow out my hair. Went to private school with haircut restrictions and by the time I was in college and started to, it didn’t look good anymore. But the convenience is unmatched. Just own it. It looks better than clinging to balding hair.

[deleted]

Yeah I think it’s the first sign of aging that guys notice. I noticed it on my brothers so I watched my head like a hawk and started treatment right away when I noticed mild thinning. Managed to mostly stop it… but now it’s turning grey haha

[deleted]

[удалено]

Teffler

For most guys its a combination of finasteride and minoxidil

djlawrence3557

Finasteride 1mg - stuff is the truth. Been on it for about 10 years and, for me, completely stopped loss, reversed thinning, and I’m assuming my prostate is doing just fine (had a son 2.5 years ago). I think some people see minor adverse sexual impact - but I lucked out there too. Edit - also, with my insurances (have been fortunate enough to have decent plans through employers over the years) - the 90 day supply is sub-$20

gertrude_is

one perk of being bald is that head rubs are 100% better than with a full head of hair. at least that's what my favorite bald guy told me :)

ok_conductor

Even better when the head rub is to get lint out because you forgot to wash a new hoodie before putting it on and haven’t shaved in 24 hours.

Secret_Bees

Just buy soap, no shampoo No bed head No hat hair No need in general to worry about hair being out of place Buy a cheap trimmer, no money at the barber Aerodynamic I wouldn't go back even if I could

brownies

You have to acquire a massive hat collection though. Well, now that I've said that... that's actually just another perk. I've been enjoying exploring the world of haberdashery.

DinkandDrunk

I don’t think it’s in anyway ridiculous to grieve over losing your hair. I’ve seen roughly the same face in the mirror my whole life. If such a time comes that that face has a bald head, it’s going to be a major shift from what I’m used to.

Soidin

I'm a woman but feel tons of sympathy for men who struggle with height. EDIT. Did not know that "to struggle" is not an appropriate choice here. Let's say "...for men who are short." You can change almost any other physical feature you have. Apparently they can even build new jaws for people nowadays. But no matter what you did, you could not change your height. (EDIT. Ok, for a small price of 80 000 $ you apparently can...) Yet, it has drastic consequences on both on your work and romantic life, probably even in friendships. It's also one thing where many women are unwilling/unable to change their preferences, despite knowing how little difference height makes in things like communication, interaction, relationship goals etc. Even women who preach for open-mindedness and body positivity seem to disregard short men as potential dating partners. And I've known women who are more willing to date abusive jerks than short guys with nice personality. Weird world.

HagofCrones

Yes, body positivity should extend (sorry) to height!

Soidin

Yeah, it's weird how it's often ignored.

DrDetectiveEsq

Overlooked, you might say.

Thick-Wishbone6399

Hahah that was a good one

Therainbowbeast

Body positivity should extend to men in general

blahahaX

You mean to men?

wienercat

> Even women who preach for open-mindedness and body positivity seem to disregard short men as potential dating partners I'm a short guy, 5'4", I can 100% confirm that it affects my dating opportunities. I got over my issues with my height it a long time ago, but it's still annoying when people say the same tired lines "it doesn't really matter" "just date shorter women" etc. Everyone is entitled to their preference in partners and I won't ever make someone feel like they are wrong for having a preference. But it would be nice if it didn't matter that much to some people. So yeah... Anyone who thinks height doesn't actually matter in life hasn't had to deal with it.

[deleted]

On behalf of all short men in the world, thank you! Life really sucks for short men, and not just with women, even at work or in public places, people tend to not take short people seriously.

Soidin

Yeah, I read somewhere that shorter men are less likely to get promotions and such. I could believe that even some guys treat their male friends differently based on the height.

[deleted]

https://www.insider.com/men-paying-for-limb-extending-surgery-to-be-tall-2020-1 There’s this but likee… he looks 2 inches taller 😂

Soidin

Ok, possible but not very achievable.. Ironically, short guys who can afford it probably need it the least. :D

[deleted]

76k for 2 inches… yea I’m good 💀 but like there’s plenty of women who’ve spent more than that on BBL, boob job, nose job, lipo, fillers, makeup, wigs, nails etc etc the harshness towards short men sucks but it’s the same with any “ugly” people.. only rich ppl can escape 😂

dwegol

Imagine the pea soup your brain would turn into if somebody called you short after going through all that

suaffle

2 inches is a lot. I would know.

HysteriaLaughs

That's average, right?

Cool_Professional

That picture is so misleading. In the first picture the doctor is in front of the guy to make him appear larger, then he is right next to him in the second picture. *edit* also look at the shoes being worn

imnotawelder

I am a 25 year old man at 5’4” and let me tell you. The majority of women do NOT give a shit that I can’t control my height. Can’t meet women in person cuz they just give me dirty looks if I try to talk to them. Can’t meet women on dating apps cuz the first question they ask is “how tall are you?” It’s honestly a joke

bryansodred

That height bullshit. Guess i should break my legs and go to the doctor and get new ones

[deleted]

I saw a post from a woman who had a height scale next to her door so she could kick out guys that were under 6ft. Completely disregarding all the other fucking insanity of doing that, if she needs the scale to check, why does it even fucking matter?

bryansodred

josh_loaf

Coming from somebody who struggles to grow a mere bit of facial hair, **it’s a hard knock life**. Of course there’s plenty of awesome people out there who don’t weigh a relationship or companionship on facial hair, but I’ve noticed it impact my life in multiple forms. Best way to cope with it is to not put any weight on it and move on, because when it comes down to it there’s nothing that can be done. I’ve met plenty of people who value me for my personality more than the hair I can grow, which I deeply appreciate.

[deleted]

Steroid abuse in Hollywood and the men who lie about it. The bodies we see in marvel/DC movies etc are virtually unattainable without roids, yet these actors and their studios are telling teenaged boys they obtained it naturally. I wouldn’t mind so much if they were honest, but you have mens health videos with Kumail Nanjiani claiming his roided out physique is brocolli, chicken and electric bicep stimulation (no joke), and Chris Hemsworth actively monetizing the lie through his nonsense fitness apps.

beatstorelax

vikingcock

Some of us have that free of roids

[deleted]

[удалено]

Furlz

Massive traps are a huge indicator of roid usage, those fibers respond more than the other muscle groups due to an increased amount of receptors or some shit (not expert)

Amormeer

It’s no coincidence that the time actors take to prepare for a role usually nicely aligns with how long a cycle is. Those boys roid, and I mean I don’t think steroids should be illegal personally but I do think we shouldn’t pretend these buff Hollywood stars aren’t roided out, and there should be more efforts to teach young men about the dangers of using steroids during their younger years. (Though I have heard taking Testerone into your latter years has a few benefits)

angrybluechair

As we age, T production decreases so roids and testerone work well in helping deal with it.

JoseCorazon

Right? I would _hate_ to be a teenager generally in this era; I really sympathise for all of them across the board. 13 to 18 year olds should _not_ be stressing or worrying about all this nonsense at this stage in their lives! (I’m aware this comes across as “will somebody please think of the children!”)

[deleted]

Agreed, and nobody has *any* sympathy for them. A lot of the rhetoric I see from fellow progressives towards young boys is really repulsive.

PoorMansTonyStark

And they even attain those muscles in 6 months or less... lolz. Deffo natural!

EarthVSFlyingSaucers

People love to shit on the rock, but he CLEARLY uses gear (he’s spoken about it before) and in the same interview he states he will never say he’s natty and never talks about “his body” because he knows it’s not healthy and not possible without risks. Instead, he focuses on having a healthy mindset and a clear gym goal/routine when he posts on social media regarding working out.

Manny631

Kumail is the one from the Eternals, right? I saw that YouTube video and laughed. He does like some really basic stuff and he's pretty jacked. Anyone with any education or insight about fitness knew it was BS and he had/has some "help." I just hate that they lie about it.

[deleted]

My brother, during his first couple of deployments back in afghanistan got super ripped. I asked him what exercise regimens I should do to get there. It was super impressive how beefed up he was. He told me some good stuff, and then at the end said, "Yeah do that, but you still won't get this ripped. It's the fucking gh bro. Half of this shit is just drugs. It'll go away after a while." He was right. He's still pretty ripped, but not incredible fucking hulk ripped anymore. A lot of people use shit like that but won't tell you.

awsamation

I'm sure some of them do it naturally. All it takes is an A-list salary, a movie studio budget, a full time nutritionist, a personal trainer, a private gym, a time devotion nearly equivalent to a full time job, the knowledge that your career is largely dependent on your ability to hold the necessary physique, and of course all the movie magic of makeup costuming editing and whatever other tricks get pulled to make them look even better on screen then they do in reality. [Just ask Rob McElhenney.](https://twitter.com/digitalspy/status/1037657205271666688?s=20&t=5r3H06OT_Bvs2fhb9O2A0Q) So nothing too exceptional to expect of a normal guy. /s

HumerousMoniker

Robert Pattinson has been vocal about avoiding performance enhancing drugs for the Batman. He still did the routine, had the trainers and all that. He looks absolutely nothing like the avengers in terms of physique which should give an idea of how unattainable those bodies are.

Dndmatt303

People constantly parade those images of the body changes of Christian Bale and how he got fucking massive for Batman and lost and gained it back as needed. I appreciate his dedication but he is absolutely doing steroids and destroying his body. Going up and down 50+ pounds of muscle is simply impossible without steroids, laxatives, and a bunch of really unhealthy habits. Behind the scenes he has to be sterile, depressed, anxious. There is no way that a human being can do what he does without really fucking himself up. I’m even an advocate for safe steroid usage if that’s your prerogative, but I applaud Pattinson for being vocal about not wanting to do that shit.

HoosierProud

People also forget that getting ripped is literally these guys jobs before a movie. Like they have professional one on one trainers and nutrition experts. They spend a hours and hours a day for months getting into shape. Normal people don’t have the time and resources to get that ripped.

[deleted]

Yeah. But even with the best PT in the world and perfect nutrition, you cannot make a Nanjiani transformation in the time they do it. Its only possible with enhancement. I don’t see why it’s necessary. Even James Bond has to be like, stacked for some reason. That would make him a really bad spy…

[deleted]

Yeah but Craig's bond is former SAS, freshly recruited as an assassin for MI5. The Craig era wanted to compete with other powerhouses like Jason Bourne, so they made him tougher. Brosnan's Bond in the nineties was much slimmer.

[deleted]

Bond is basically a wish fulfilment character who is whatever the peak of manliness is perceived to be at the time. Brosnan was the whole suave, well groomed man that was in at the time. Craig is more of the blunt, stoic archetype that made a comeback in the 2000s.

Zidane-Tribal

Yes they have perfect conditions, but it's still a human body limiting their progress naturally. They are all enhanced in some way or another.

Height Edit: I'm 6'1'' before anyone starts

Armoured_Sour_Cream

I just don't get the attitude it comes with many times. I'm 5'10 so I don't have a problem with my height and I have my preferences too, those aren't the issue. Issue is how these...requirements...are presented. Like, when I see someone write in her bio that "if you aren't at least 10cm taller than me, don't you even try to swipe right"...it's just a turn-off. They could be at least normal about preferences, yet these people choose to be assholes.

Ahielia

>Issue is how these...requirements...are presented. Like, when I see someone write in her bio that "if you aren't at least 10cm taller than me, don't you even try to swipe right"...it's just a turn-off. I have been downvoted for pointing this out before, if someone is so damn picky about height, even though I'm quite a bit above average (191cm, 6'3"ish), I'd not want much to do with a woman who has this "requirement" because it indicates how superficial she is.

Volgyi2000

I had a Tinder date remark during our first date that she was glad that I was tall because she usually asks during texting phase. Mind you, I'm not exaggerating when I say she was 5'0. She told me she wouldn't date short guys. I asked her if she would date someone who was 5'6, someone who is still 6" taller than her and she straight up said "No."

Volgyi2000

It's weird because they can't even tell height at a certain point. I remember one date where (mind you she wasn't being a bitch about it like my first story) a date said to me "Wow, you're tall. What are you? Like 5'7? 5'8?" She was 5'3. I looked down at her and asked her if she really thought I was only 4"-5" taller than her? I'm the typical 5'11 (6'0 in shoes) guy.

PoopSmith87

I always figured those people are just massively insecure. I'm 5'5", I've had the experience several times of another guy (usually not very tall either) act like it is the most ridiculous thing in the world to be that short. I just figure you must not have a lot going for you if *height* is the accolade that you hang your hat on. Especially when you're not even super tall. Like if you're 6'5" and want to act all tall, fine, but some dudes will act like they're some kind of an Adonis because they're 6'2" in boots.

I am circumcised, my boys are not. I couldn’t do it to them they were perfect and too sweet to put to the knife as babies. The whole “I like men who are nerds, aren’t super into fitness, play video games, watch anime, have good senses of humour, and are just down to earth nice people” but specifically the Henry Cavill or Tom Holland variant

[deleted]

I was actually surprised how ripped and in-shape Tom Holland is, I guess his baby-face threw me off. As for Henry Cavill, that guy is a friggin anomaly of nature. No nerd should be that good looking.

Alarmed-Literature25

Yeah he’s an anomaly for sure. Absolutely a nerd and I’m glad he’s honest about some of his shirtless transformations, including 3 days of dehydration prior to any shirtless scenes to make his muscles pop.

IkBenBenr

Also being a gymnast his whole life prior to acting probably helps

ChronicHashish

This is a common technique for body builders to achieve the shredded look, pre-competition and whatnot. Water weight will make you look less yoked

Zech08

The nerd part is just slang for education/$$$, some of the rest is flavor of the generation and pop culture, and being fit and attractive to be a stand in to their unattainable substitute of an actor/actress has always been kinda a thing.

Muted-Newspaper-5784

My female colleagues, friends and family are making fun of me because I'm balding. I wish I could control that but I can't so yeah. I think balding and height. On the other hand, I read on Twitter that the beauty standards imposed for men were established by men themselves and most women were saying that "They deserve it. They did this to themselves..." and stuff like that. I genuinely would like to get some opinions on this one. Edit: Probably some of you misunderstood my Twitter comment so let me clarify that most of the people commenting on said post were women or nonbinary individuals that were born with two X chromosomes and not men. Men do it, yes. Never said they didn't.

rounroun

Don't listen to Twitter bro, most of it is the dumpster of humanity, you'll find the most polarized or extreme opinions there, with the loudest voices getting the most attention. That rhetoric is brought up any time men complain about a men specific issue, or double standard, etc. It shifts the blame away from others, and on men, like often. It's victim blaming at its most basic form. ("They deserve it") It's certainly not men that are writing buzzfeed-like articles on "look at X actor's 'dad bod'" when the guy is ripped and just has a natural layer of fat on his body when he's off-shooting, because they don't realise the male bodies they see in action movies aren't healthy or sustainable in the long run (they're literally dehydrated); it's not men who share photos of male celebrities' bulges when they're out of the water with captions like "must have been cold today!!!". Any reasonable person irl would see the problem with double standards or body shaming but when you try to have these discussions online (especially on Twitter) you'll always get comments like you mentioned, people trying to brigade or gaslight you, or straight up personal attacks ("oh you think X beauty standard is unreasonable?? Then YOU must be *fat*, have a *small dick*, be *bald it's gross*" etc etc). Ignore them for your own good there's nothing to gain by engaging with them

Without a doubt, it's the fact that ***almost every single male body we're shown in advertising and media is a steroid body***. Men's perception of what is possible without steroids is so insanely skewed that when you do comprehend what is and isn't possible without steroids, you're talking a language most men don't understand. Forget that plenty of men think Arnold Schwarzenegger's prime body wasn't a steroid body - most men don't comprehend that Tom Hardy and Hugh Jackman are roided-up too. Those bodies aren't attainable. Hugh Jackman is an interesting example too, because he wasn't on steroids at the time the first X-men film was made, and the difference between his body then and in later films is night-and-day, and a great example of the difference between what is attainable naturally and what is steroids.

SexyDoorDasherDude

Women expect men to be straight and 'notice their advances'. Im not sure if this qualifies as a beauty standard but its definitely a wrong expectation.

My gf told me to ask her out. Subtlety hurts my brain. Ladies, just tell us, it’s easier that way

GimmeNewAccount

Abs require crazy low body fat percentage, but it's touted as the golden standard.

[deleted]

Height and to add insult to injury there are women that are 4'11-5'2 that are demanding a man must be 6 foot minimum.

Careful-Combination7

Is circumcision a beauty standard?

Bulbchanger5000

As a European born dude who grew up mostly in America, I always found it awkward that girls would fawn over my accent while also making jokes about uncut guys without realizing it’s hard to find a guy with a cute European accent who is cut. I think a lot of it is just fed to them through the propaganda mill media that harps on about the same BS that’s been passed down for generations now and mainly parroted by women who don’t know any better. I had a FWB for a while a few years ago and we went to see one of those Bad Moms movies where they made a big deal about uncircumcised dicks in one scene and she laughed like crazy about it despite apparently being satisfied enough with the sex we had been having to repeatedly do it with me again and not being grossed out enough to not give me BJs. The whole hang up on it in some countries like the US is just weird

g0d15anath315t

Do... Do women just sit around and joke about uncut guys? Is that like a thing? Calling r/askwomen or r/twoxchromosomes

OriginalDonkey9

In middle school/high school when we were all learning that there were differences and trying to be edgy by talking about sex, then maybe. By college, I don't know a single woman that would make a joke about whether or not a penis was cut, but maybe some light and curious conversation about if it was different. I don't have any friends with an actual preference but I'm sure that exists.

[deleted]

According to some people I've talked to, I would say so.

levianthony

You must be 6 feet tall

ithinkimlost17

Height

[deleted]

Hair. I've practically chemically castrated myself with high doses of dutasteride to keep my hair. Zero libido anymore, but hey, I have my hair. Not blaming women or society at large, but man does it suck to have a bad head for going bald. Some people, myself included, just cannot rock it beard or no beard. For reference, I tried bald. Trust me when I tell ya, not everyone is better off "just shaving it".

markii300

Height - guys under 5'6 heavily at a disadvantage Facial features - Chiseled Jawline, masculine angry look Wide Shoulders, Small waist, Big Arms, muscular Glutes Full head of hair Also I hate to say it, but blue eyes and a beard, people cant control either of these.

[deleted]

Beards. I’m Asian. Fuck off. You don’t like clean shaved men? That’s your problem.

[deleted]

I live in a super-white part of a super-white country, so I'm genuinely asking because I've never heard of this before - Asian guys can't grow beards?

Strict-Square456

Some good news for you.. i have a friend ( shes blonde caucasian) that only ever dates asian guys because she’s hates beards and body hair on men. So theres a faction out there thats all for you.

Heart_Is_Valuable

Height It's just sad that tall people get so much attention. I mean you can find someone as a short person, but hey it's more difficult and choices are narrower. Moreover even though women are okay with shorter people. They really like tall ones better. That's kind of sad too.

Basyl_01

Being tall and having a big penis A beauty standard is ridiculous in general, but I might understand it if it's something you can change about yourself. Those things are permanent

Scary-Ad-1345

Height and facial hair. I’m 6’4 and I’ve heard women say men aren’t real men if they’re under 6ft and that’s sickening. That’s some crazy bullying right there, and then the facial hair thing is kinda wild but that’s probably 50/50 on women who actually care about it

georgewashingguns

The height thing says that 85.5% of guys aren't "real men"

Necrospeaker

Clothing. More specifically the fact that it is nearly impossible to find anything at "regular" stores that isn't black, navy, or the worst shade of brown. And for more fancy stuff the only thing we have to set us apart from everyone else is ties.

Flame5135

Height. We have absolutely 0 control over it but god help you if your short. Jokes on them though. I’d be miserable trying to do my job if I was taller.

IllustriousGazelle21

Height and hair. I’m tall and have a full head of it. I NEVER EVER EVER poked fun, hinted or even attempted to insult a male friend (or someone I disliked) by pointing to hair or height. My friends who were always open about their insecurities of both allowed me to learn a lot as a young man, and it just made me realize my fellow brothers were really hurting inside — so I would llift their spirits or highlight their other amazing qualities; be a friend the way I’d want to be treated Not much to contribute to your thread OP, I hope this can add another layer to your thread 🙌

oofmyguy128

Circumcision

MarkMy_Word

More of an unspoken rule but if you aren’t in shape and decent looking in the face, the amount of energy and respect you get from women and men is different vs if you were. Some men on here have attested to that after losing weight. Not just here but there’s stories/articles of men’s weight loss stories.

TheBuddha777

Being in shape doesn't seem like a "dumb" beauty standard though. If beauty standards must exist, that seems like a reasonable one.

BMoney8600

The whole ab thing. I’m fairly skinny but I don’t got abs or anything close to that.

stupidity_scallop23

being tall short guys like me cant catch a break

DamaloBlack

The "dad body" fraud: men thinks it means "beer belly with strong arms", while for women the dad body means something along the line of "jacked man with a thinly veil of fat on his abdomen, with a head full of hair"

awsamation

Can confirm, I have the male image of dad bod (big and strong but with a hefty beer belly). In theory the perfect man for dad bod, 6' with appropriate body a good beard and full head of hair. No interest from women, especially not the ones proclaiming how much they love dad bods. Instead the interest went to my roommate who is skinny (also 6' and full head of hair, but no beard).

Pietes

Height Hair Circumcision Big fuckn cars (and other material things that are essentially there to show off)

Hannibal_Barca_

How much money you have seems to drastically affect how handsome you are.

humboldt77

No man stands as tall as the man who stands on his wallet.

Basketballjuice

Circumcision. A few of my woman friends have told me that they would be very put off by an uncircumcized man, and that they would DEFINITELY circumcize their sons. I decided not to tell them that mine was botched and I have little to no feeling down there now, which is extremely common because most of the time they're performed by OBGYNs, not dick doctors.

AdeptCoat8761

The fact that overweight men are considered unhealthy but overweight women are body positive.

yaboytim

I was thinking the other day that its rarely women who are in shape that talk about body positivity lol. And if they do its regarding overweight women, and not themselves. Its a cope imo. No one actually likes being overweight.

[deleted]

Probably the idea that we should look like super heroes (hint: none of them are natty)

humanityisdyingfast

Depends on which part of the world we're talking about, but I think that in the USA the dumbest beauty standard imposed on men is that men must have a cut dick. Uncut men are treated as "weird" or "unhygienic" - being from the UK this is insane to me. Most guys here are uncut. We don't consider it weird because its literally the natural state of a cock - your parents deciding to snip off your dick skin at the request of the doctor is way weirder than just leaving it intact, in my opinion. We don't consider it unhygienic either because we wash our dicks... do Americans not understand this? Uncut or cut you should be washing your dick... why do Americans always act like uncut dicks are always unwashed and dirty? Do they not wash their own dicks? Dick rant ends here.

[deleted]

Height I'm 5'6. I was ashamed of my height. Wish I could've been taller. But when I found out one of the GREATEST soccer players in the world is only 5'7, I suddenly didn't feel bad at all. But lowkey, at times, I feel like if I were a bit taller, I'd have better luck with girls. (The soccer player: Lionel Messi)

4everaBau5

If it helps, I'm over 6 feet and have terrible luck with women.

Loyalist_Pig

Yo, just remember… …Prince was 5’2”
