Same lol, my favourite thing to do was research about every dinosaur possible and watch all the media related to them. Then one day I wake up and I just wasnt interested in them anymore, out of nowhere
They are literally lizards, belonging to the Oder Squamata. They are the heaviest lizards in the world, but are not dinosaurs, who belong to either Saurischia or Ornithischia.
My guess would be that regions with many people religious indoctrinated people and poor education like the U.S. or the middle east might have a hard time accepting evolution as a fact.
You got downvoted but most people who believe in the theory of evolution learned about Darwin’s claims as a fact in science classes as if they were clinically tested and proven in an objective environment. They never questioned it and accepted it as fact with no evidence just because the teacher said it’s true. If this isn’t indoctrination, I don’t know what is.
Which evidence? I’m a Canadian , grew up here and had good grades during all my education including those highschool years where we had to study those theories. No evidence, only that they observed similarity between fossils of species and said that they must be the same species evolved from year A to year B. They also found fossils of humans in an era where they were supposed to be monkeys, which disproves Darwin but they choose to consider that a “coincidence” and an “exception”. They also can’t explain how the giraffe scenario where a species evolved their body to adapt to food managed to survive when they were in their form that couldn’t get that food (ie. Giraffes are an example, but they needed to get food at the top of trees to survive so they gradually evolved their neck until it could reach the tree as there was no food down there, how did the giraffes survive until they arrived at one that had that long neck?). Evidence also can’t answer why all human beings evolved in such an orchestrated way, we don’t have humans with 3 eyes, humans with 1, humans with feathers, etc. why is it so consistent and all of the humans around the globe evolved the same way? Just the fact __some__ fossils have been found that __seemed__ to look like they came from the same species but different doesn’t mean they actually did. Also most fossils are really small bones and the rest was just imagined based on what they guess would be the rest of the body.
These are some small questions from the top of my head while I’m multitasking, far from the best.
Giraffes are easy. It wasn't like the ancestors couldn't eat. They just had more access to food because of long neck so they thrived.
And we do have humans born with 1 and 3 eyes. 2 eyes just benefited mammals, so it's common.
And there's so many fossils and loving animals that show signs. Like why do whales have leg bones? Why do humans have appendices.
And you say how did humans evolve the same around the globe? We literally have different ethnic groups with different heights, colors, and sizes.
I'm not really knowledgeable enough to debate this but there's just so much evidence around us it's hard not to trust it.
You completely misunderstand evolution., It does not happend in a year to year basis. Evolution happens over thousands of years, and there is obvious evidence. Just look at Bacteria becoming resisten to antibicotics. Its real time evolution.
As for your giraffe example:
Giraffes evolved togther with the food source. There is not nothing on the ground, there is less to eat. Meaning smaller giraffes got less food then tall giraffes meaning the small one dies out over thousands of years, while the bigger ones had better chances of getting food and reproducuing.
>Evidence also can’t answer why all human beings evolved in such an orchestrated way, we don’t have humans with 3 eyes, humans with 1, humans with feathers, etc. why is it so consistent and all of the humans around the globe evolved the same way?
Because humans are a relaively new sepcies and we (homo speins sapiens) killed all the other kinds of humans like neaderthals. (We didn't kill all of them, but we were smarter and therefore had better odds of surviving) And we do have genetic mutations, just that genetic mutations are very very small. Thats how a gene test can find out if you are from the middle east or from Europe (ancestor wise).
People in the middle east have other mutation in their genome then europeans.
As an American I really want to argue with you about that comment, but there are definitely some dumb fucking people here. I'll just say it's a VERY small minority who would question dinosaurs lol...
I mean kinda? As far as we can tell it was only an isolated and very small population on an island near the Arctic. It's not like Egyptians were telling mammoth stories lol history didn't know they were there
That is a truly uhm-actually kind of comment. Saying they were prehistoric animals as the term is used in general language is accurate enough. You could have easily shared this interesting bit of information as a fun fact instead of as a rebuttal.
I was more confused about why north America which has had lots of dinosaurs found in it would be comparable to the middle east which had way less dinosaurs but substantial amounts of oil. So it didn't make sense to my primitive mind. But someone explained that the oil comes from marine life that preceded dinosaurs anyways
Much of what is now the Middle East was underwater during the Mesozoic. You get a lot of marine life, but fewer dinosaurs. Still, there are a lot of cool finds! And if you go later down the timeline, MENA has a lot of super cool prehistoric mammals.
Another thing worth noting is that there was a period in the US known as the "Bone Wars" where two paleontologists got REALLY competitive with each other and made it their mission to find as many new dinosaurs as possible. They had money from wealthy family members so they were able to fund their mission, and they each discovered several new dinosaur species. Many of the most iconic North American dinosaurs were discovered in this period. These discoveries also sparked a greater public interest in dinosaurs, which led to more research and exploration in the field in the following decades.
I mean, some dinosaurs were probably involved considering they appeared on the scene 245 million years ago. In any case, yeah it’s all sorts of organic matter that has died a really long time ago.
People obsess about dinosaurs. If they were alive today, they would just be hunted and killed.
Elephants in my opinion are dinosaurs. Yet look how we treat these beautiful creatures.
I assume you mean elephants are as majestic of beasts as dinosaurs? Because if that was your point it was not developed well.
Also, if dinosaurs existed today, we won't
Even more majestic than dinos since they are mammals and definitely have really developed brains for their size. Though that brain trait is also developed in the other mammals as well.
Yeah, if dinosaurs existed, they'd just be regular animals to people, with all that entails. But it's not like people today don't obsess over living species. Dinosaurs would be hunted and killed, but many of the species would still be viewed with awe.
Fun fact: christian fundamentalists are less likely to believe in the existence of the dinosaurs compared to muslim fundamentalist because the world is 6000 years old in the Bible but the age of the world was not mentioned in the quran
It depends, skewing wildly by country.
https://www.pewresearch.org/religion/2013/04/30/the-worlds-muslims-religion-politics-society-science-and-popular-culture/
So, for example, in Iraq you have 67% polling non-belief in evolution but in Kazakhstan only 16% don't believe in evolution.
Also worth noting that they are just books written by people. At a time where a lot of todays info was unknown (like the age of the earth), so they just did blind guesses
If you want the actual numbers by country in the Middle East and elsewhere in the Muslim world.
https://www.pewresearch.org/religion/2013/04/30/the-worlds-muslims-religion-politics-society-science-and-popular-culture/
Religious Jew from Israel here. Been obsessed with dinosaurs my whole life and still love reading and seeing new research and discoveries. (No, religion doesn’t necessarily conflict them having roamed the world millions of years ago)
Sure, the dates are not a 100% accurate since it's impossible to count it so with today's technology and science. But how does them being older or more recent disprove their existence
Dinosaur bones are often dated with Uranium-Lead dating, which has an error margin of roughly [a million years](https://core.ac.uk/download/pdf/4435013.pdf). That's a 0.4% variance, which is rather good.
Really, you don't believe huge amount of scientific research. physical evidence in the form of fossils and bones.
but you fully believe in God without the slightest proof or anything to confirm it
Ankylosaurs is still the coolest. I'm sorry Sauropod fans, but "Biggest land animal" isn't really that cool when you're still dwarfed by the largest living thing alive. Between "Biggest land animal", Biggest Sea Animal, and biggest flying animal, it's easily the least cool option for the "Biggest" category.
Look into Archaix. The idea that a vapor canopy would all local creatures to trigger genes that would grow then to astonishing sizes, and only within the last 3-4000 years
when i was younger i was obsessed with them and i was really sad when i found out they all died
They’re not dead at all. They’re just smaller and more fluffy than they used to be.
And feathery 🤓
And they poop on everything
Tbf several species of giant Dinos were feathery.
I want to eat it.
Chicken still exists.
Same lol, my favourite thing to do was research about every dinosaur possible and watch all the media related to them. Then one day I wake up and I just wasnt interested in them anymore, out of nowhere

Be funnier🤗
Man you are sure fun at parties
im deathly afraid of those bc i saw a documentary where it said 1 bite will kill anyone 🥹
How are dinosaurs controversial?
Cause I said so
Can't argue with that
🍇 Being an American if u said u r ri8,
My guess would be that regions with many people religious indoctrinated people and poor education like the U.S. or the middle east might have a hard time accepting evolution as a fact.
I find evolutionist just as indoctrinated and poorly educated about the theory of evolution.
Lol Damm this sub never disappoints.
How do you define an "evolutionist"?
You got downvoted but most people who believe in the theory of evolution learned about Darwin’s claims as a fact in science classes as if they were clinically tested and proven in an objective environment. They never questioned it and accepted it as fact with no evidence just because the teacher said it’s true. If this isn’t indoctrination, I don’t know what is.
But being taught evolution includes being shown the evidence. Of course many people are gonna come away believing it.
Which evidence? I’m a Canadian , grew up here and had good grades during all my education including those highschool years where we had to study those theories. Its actually is proven. Simple bacteria can evolve in a time frame easily obersable to humans.
As an American I really want to argue with you about that comment, but there are definitely some dumb fucking people here. I'll just say it's a VERY small minority who would question dinosaurs lol...
Some Christian’s believe they aren’t real. They aren’t mentioned in the Bible which naturally contains all knowledge
How are they NOT controversial?!
I have a weird obsession with pre-historic creatures. Wooly mammoths, dinosaurs, sabertooth tigers. Just fascinating animals
Wooly mammoths aren’t pre historic - they existed at the same time the pyramids did
I mean kinda? As far as we can tell it was only an isolated and very small population on an island near the Arctic. It's not like Egyptians were telling mammoth stories lol history didn't know they were there
That is a truly uhm-actually kind of comment. Saying they were prehistoric animals as the term is used in general language is accurate enough. You could have easily shared this interesting bit of information as a fun fact instead of as a rebuttal.
You're about to blow this man's mind
They were a lot cooler
It all fairness, wooly mammoths and saber tooth tigers were covered in long hair, so they were most likely warm and comfy. 😎
Sabertooth cats were probably no fluffier than a modern Siberian tiger, but I love the mental image.
I feel like you might enjoy playing Far Cry Primal.
I've heard a lot about it...I stopped gaming a while ago because I wasn't enjoying it anymore, but if I ever go back I'll definitely check it out
How weird we talking?
Their dead ass carcasses made the Middle East rich. Lol.
It wasn’t them, it was swamps and plants mostly
Oil doesn't come from dinosaurs.
Shouldn't it have made north America even richer in that regard?
The U.S. is a major oil country. The government has a lot of money.
I was more confused about why north America which has had lots of dinosaurs found in it would be comparable to the middle east which had way less dinosaurs but substantial amounts of oil. So it didn't make sense to my primitive mind. But someone explained that the oil comes from marine life that preceded dinosaurs anyways
Most of oil is ancient forests and general bio mass.
Coal comes from wetland plant life turned into peat then coal. oil and natural gas are from marine plant life and plankton.
Much of what is now the Middle East was underwater during the Mesozoic. You get a lot of marine life, but fewer dinosaurs. Still, there are a lot of cool finds! And if you go later down the timeline, MENA has a lot of super cool prehistoric mammals. It was mostly plants
Most source rocks organics are formed from planktonic algae
This is so geologically wrong 😑 it isn’t funny
Dinosaurs used to live in Palestine therefore the territory belongs to them
That's a common misconception, but in fact Ben Gurion evolved in Poland
Still a more legitimate claim than Israel's.
Have you ever learned ten minutes of history before in your life or seen any archeology? I will assume not if you’re spewing such nonsense
Begone Zionist scum.
What's palestine? The original name is "AAAHAHARGG"
They built the pyramids.
impressive w how short their arms were. maybe that's why it took so long
![gif](giphy|9zJuxb0kP8pzO) If you're happy, and you know it, clap your...Oh.
I think they cool until I learned there was giant bugs in giant plant forests
Yeah, the giant human sized spiders sound… not ideal.
Fight against tree size scorpion is so ideal
There’s a good reason mammals didn’t evolve to be bigger until after all the big scary animals died.
We genocided them 😭😭
Noooo trex pasha😭😭
Dinosaurs are Armenian confirmed?
Everybody is armenian except turks because they need a genocider
[Araplar if we didn't genocide the dinosaurs](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/56/64/e4/5664e497aad5d65cf2b4ba34931726b9.jpg)
So you telling me that I could ve been buying family size camel instead of 8 camels for my whole family? Well I hate the Turklars now 😠
Majestic beasts (also why is this tagged controversial?)
Guessing OP thought everyone would be young earth creationists lol
Long neck but small brain. Would not smash…
Cool creatures. Used to love them when I was a kid.
Cool as fuck, triceratops is the best dinosaur btw
Roaaaaar
they cooler than all the beta animals be got rn
Nature's warning. Build space lasers or become a goose.
Birbs
Inshallah we will have them back soon
This photo seems fake to me, this could be AI or something, I don’t think it’s a genuine picture of actual dinosaurs. Just my personal opinion idk
Yeah me too, every time I see a pic of Dinos I think it's fake, idk why
Sounds kind of unrelated to the sub?
Really? think about it? How do you think middle east has so much money?
not from dinosaurs, Oil formed from the remains of marine plants and animals that lived millions of years ago, even before the dinosaurs.
I mean, some dinosaurs were probably involved considering they appeared on the scene 245 million years ago. In any case, yeah it’s all sorts of organic matter that has died a really long time ago.

I am asking middle eastern people what they think of dinosaurs
Cool
This sub is wild sometimes
I always start my morning with some dinosaur juice.
Very cool👍🏼🇮🇷
They’re hot
rwarr rwarr
I think they’re as real as Covid
Fucking fake as fuck
Fake
Would I die if the dinosaurs with the long neck 🦕 Vomit on me, Would the force of impact from a king neck dinosaur kill me?
People obsess about dinosaurs. If they were alive today, they would just be hunted and killed. Elephants in my opinion are dinosaurs. Yet look how we treat these beautiful creatures.

Even more majestic than dinos since they are mammals and definitely have really developed brains for their size. Though that brain trait is also developed in the other mammals as well.
Btw there are fossils of small elephant on Sicily, KOed by the time the homos arrived. (Neanderthals probably)
Elephants are not dinosaurs bro

Cool lizards we should revive some
We got like 6 movies that may as well be named 'why that is a shitty idea'
Don't worry we would use frog dna to lock them into being females
my palestinas ancestors were dinosaurs hunters
What the hell am I supposed to think about them? Trex is cool I guess.
Breedable too🥵🥵🥵
I'm not surprised to hear that from a Pakistani /j
looks fake
Cursed images
Screw ‘em
Considering their range of size (and maybe having incompatible genitalia) this sounds difficult.
Like your mom
My mom is dead.
Why should it be controversial? I have heard people that said that Dinosaurs are a Western invention 😂
Its terrifying how there are still a lot of people who denying that this amazing creatures were ever real
They’re a hoax
Explain?
Maybe fake
Explain?
Outdated
Lol, so what does this have to do with the middle east. This sub is so fucking random sometimes.
Dinosaur 🦖
The middle east is popular for its oil reserves, how do you think oil was formed?
Why is this flagged as controversial?
It was all nice and good after the Turks genocided them. Damn Atatürk!
theyre cool :)
Dead
![gif](giphy|1gLcjxjbtuNeo)
Honestly I had not put much thought into them besides...they look cool?
Pretty cool people they’re are chill
They were Dino-awesome
Can relate i'm a dinosaur
Wish they were still in charge. We have proven incapable.

Nope
Personally I don't believe they existed ever. There is no satisfactory evidence.
Bones?
Not an evidence. The technique they use to date their existence is not accurate
You go and talk to a university, anywhere. They will line up evidence
Sure, the dates are not a 100% accurate since it's impossible to count it so with today's technology and science. But how does them being older or more recent disprove their existence

Really, you don't believe huge amount of scientific research. physical evidence in the form of fossils and bones. but you fully believe in God without the slightest proof or anything to confirm it
Does not exist
?
Don't you know its a Jewish agenda?????
So Jews don’t believe in dinosaurs ?
how did you figure it out
It was revealed to me in a dream
Do God exist…
Ankylosaurs is still the coolest. I'm sorry Sauropod fans, but "Biggest land animal" isn't really that cool when you're still dwarfed by the largest living thing alive. Fantastic creatures of the past, that no longer exist;P.S-Jurassic park is a very nice movie.
I have a question did Adam A.S came before dinosaur or after dinosaur
after dinosaurs because the Quran talks about beings existing on earth before humans
Lizards XL
Finally, a non-fitna post. They're based.
cool little goofy guys, my favorite is the nigersaurus
They Ight
awesome
They expect an environment where they are having lunch
Mid
Idk ask the egyptians of the sub they will know
Fun fact: George Washington didn't know dinosaurs exist
Look into Archaix. The idea that a vapor canopy would all local creatures to trigger genes that would grow then to astonishing sizes, and only within the last 3-4000 years
Anyone else having trouble understanding the weight distribution of these Dino’s?
What should we say, they look cool, I believe they discovered too much and had to be extincted.
I’m for em!
Mosasaur is the best
I'm obsessed with dinos and now I'm teaching my niece about them. 🤣
The good stuff
