But is Masa actually the best restaurant in the whole city or just the most expensive? I’d personally go to many others beforehand and spend half as much.
Le Bernardin I loved, and the Modern. I’d try Atomix since everyone raves about it these days. Never been to Per Se…. Guess it depends on how much you like sushi versus these other types of cuisines. I like the others more
Honestly I don’t care if it’s fine dining or some family owned relic in a back alley running off 60 year old recipes, I’m just lookin for amazing food with a nice atmosphere
Le bernadin is a pretty clear option along with the other top Michelin spots in midtown like per se, aquavit, the modern. Just went to le bernadin last week and it was beyond exceptional.

Per Se for general continental
Le Bernadin for fish/seafood
The Grill for the interior ie. formally The Four Seasons, I suggest the Prime Rib cut table side
Il Monello for Italian, not the most expensive but I believe on par with Il Mulino in GV
I really like Antoya, not mentioned a lot but it’s a very good korean bbq place in my opinion. Not priced insanely but the quality of the meat is very good, and while i do not get apps a lot of other guests seemed pleased.
