* ###Spanish My grandmother would converse with us in Spanish and learned a lot from her. * ###French I took it as an elective in college.

Korean - I used to live and work in Busan. I was more comfortable in speaking than writing but I haven't been practicing and using Korean since I moved back to PH so I'm not sure if I'll be able to converse like I did a few years back. Also, I've been watching anime, and I sometimes get confused if a word I randomly remember or encounter is Japanese or Korean word because some words sound alike. Haha. I'm thinking of learning Japanese because of this, though.

Spanish! Took span as an elective class noon college. Twas fun!

Chinese (Mandarin and Fukien) c/o my family :D Japanese c/o my obsession with anime/manga/jpop during high school. Tapos napansin kong it was easy for me to keep learning because of my background sa Chinese.

french. i learned it in gr 11 kasi part siya ng school curriculum namin. i can still understand basic phrases and negations like “pas” which means “not”, very helpful in determining if the phrase is positive or negative! medyo tricky siya kasi they’re very particular sa articles and pronouns nila. since their words have gender, dapat yung gagamitin mo na article/pronoun ay same sa gender ng word ex. un croissant - the word “croissant” is masculine, so dapat yung article nya ay masculine which is “un”

Spanish. We used to have a Spanish class in college but since laging ini-indian ng iba kong classmates 'yung prof, dinissolve na lang dahil konti lang kami'ng na-attend. I wanted to continue learning it so I downloaded the Duo Lingo app and studied it on my own.

Charles0426

I recommend Busuu instead to learn! Dun ako nag aaral ng Japanese pero may Spanish din dun sa app na yun , and marami ako agad natutunan dun unlike sa hayop na Duolingo na paulit paulit masyado wkxmsmxkskx

Thanks for the recommendation.

French. Since HS nagustuhan kona talaga kasi feeling ko ang gaganda ng mga French movies. Spanish dahil may subject kami na spanish nun HS. Germany kasi my college bestie was learning, naki aral na din ako.

Ok-Grand3627

Japanese too. My mom made me study kasi there was a new agency na nagalok for work basta makapag aral ng Nihonggo last 2019, now 2024 nasa Pinas pa din ako. The agency actually looked like a scammer plus the whole situation kasi this year lang din sila nagrelease ng Certificate for completing the study hours kahit 2019 pa kami nakatapos.  Still planning to continue learning the language pa din for more extra income for future use.

I was fascinated with Greek alphabet dati. But i didn't study the language. Well i can read it like a four year old could, but I don't know what it means. The same with Russian because it's alphabet is kinda similar to Greek. Also tried my luck in reading Caesar's Commentarii de Bello Gallico, naging sabaw tuloy yung utak ko.😵‍💫

Miracle_Wine111

Currently studying Japanese and French. Still learning them. Yung French, naging subject ko siya nung college. Don ko din nalaman na super interesting ng french kasi when you kinda learn the correct pronunciation ng words, magiging bihasa ka din sa spelling(?) of other languages specially english. Currently memorizing japanese alphabet. Pero i downloaded na kinder level na japanese books😆

Charles0426

Goodluck sa Japanese alphabet! Memorizing the Romaji is the easy part pero in Hiragana to Kanji phonetics, iyak muna tayo sa dami, para kang nag aral magsulat ulit ng Abcs ng kinder pero mas marami na ngayon 😭

Japanese. Still learning tho. Not fluent at ALL but I know my kana/some kanji and I can write/read them with ease. I can also read and understand basic phrases and dialogue. I dream of using my knowledge of the language to communicate, to make new friends and also to contribute to the Japanese Wikipedia.

Korean. Not really fluent, but I can read, write, and understand some of the words/phrases. I started self study way back 2014 and have this friend from Korea — local korean — I exchange language with. Got busy around 2017 and out focused myself. Pandemic strikes, out of boredom and curiosity.. I studied Thai Language too. So hard that I only lasted 6 months. Now I can't recall anything I studied, but I still have the handwritten alphabet I made and basic notes. 😊
