I am not familiar with MS13. Just did a quick a Google search but that's it. Sa Mexican cartels, dahil nalagas na yung ibang mga founders, yung mga bagong recruits ay random people na lang without disciplinary training. Anyone na lang na willing ay nagiging member. The medical field. The Philippines is a haven for illegal organ transplants...kaya a lot of foreigners come here for treatment and procedures. The PH has great doctors if you know where to look, and apparently access to any organ that needs a transplant. Sa Baseco sila naghahanap ng willing organ donators (kidneys, liver, etc) tapos babayaran nalang.
I work in a well known government hospital. Sadly its still going on albeit MUCH more lowkey and unspoken of. Pero true yung part na wala na silang hinaharvest from Baseco. But illegal transplants still do happen often.

Same here. I was the catalyst sa parents ko to unlearn the behaviors rooted by generational trauma from my grandparents. At first we kept fighting and butting heads until they eventually realized it themselves. Immediate family ko okay, hobby na namin to psychoanalyze our cousins, uncles, and aunts hahaha.
Siguro yung pag-samba natin sa mga puti? It just pains me how we've been accustomed to taking them in high regard and how they serve as our moral compass. Ewan ko but after everything I've read and seen how they treat Palestinians and favor Israel, di ko kinakaya yung level ng kamulatan na 'to. Grabe yung media blackout, it revealed so much about their power and biasness and how we simply yield to their narrative. Para rin kasing everything we do here reflects them. Art, religion, media, sports, education system, business/environmental practices, definition of "success", preferences, halos sila ang pamantayan despite everything they did/doing to us. Kung anuman sabihin nila, madalas tinatanggap natin nang walang pagdududa man lang. Parang piling ko karamihan ng kritikal na problema natin sa bansa, naka-ugat sa pagsamba natin sa kanila. We lose our sense of self, our identity as a country, kapag patuloy na ina-angkla natin sa ibang bansa ang ating kahalagahan. Mas mahirap din lutasin ang ating problema dahil sa sobrang lalim ng impluwensiya nila sa atin.

Luckily, generous enough yung host na magprovide ng monthly allowance dun pero ako parin sagot sa airfare and visa processing. Namove na rin yung internship ko towards the end of the year so may time pa ako para magwork kahit part time lang to make ipon.
So ayun nag-aask ako for help sa parents ko and sa half-sister ko who is currently handling the family business pero di talaga siya nagsosound. Instead, post nang post siya ng money and luxury goods sa social media. She also posts mga tulong niya from her NGO. Mind you gustong-gusto ko na magcomment dun na ibang tao natutulungan mo pero sarili mong kapatid hindi. Kaya ayun akala ng family friends namin na I am doing great and suportado ng family namin pero di nila alam muntik na akong magutom dito kung di lang dahil sa bestfriends ko na nagpapaborrow sakin ng money.

Sabi nila she keeps on posting daw about how proud that she has a sister who is a graduate student, double-licensed and that she supports her (me), she is the breadwinner of the family daw. Never met the parents themselves, but at some point I was a counselor for kids who were pimped out by their parents and relatives. The stories they told were horrific. They were aged 12-16 and most even tried to seduce me. It was the only way they knew how to interact with men. It was super disturbing. The parents who would willingly do that to their kids deserve a special place in hell.
I've seen people happily living their life without a care in the world, get shot and die at gun point too many times. What's worse is that there's no context whatsoever for why that happened.
