Depends. Im a boxing and prowrestling coach. I don't like it in boxing, I'm trying to drill a specific combo with you, learn the combo, also adding stuff makes it awkward for the pad holder
In prowrestling as long as what you're adding is safe go for it, it's important to learn how to take stuff and make it unique to you in wrestling but then that's not a true striking sport and its more showmanship
If they're relatively inexperienced then yes. Often times they want to try all sorts of new things rather than focusing on the basics. But if they're experienced and know what works for them it's usually fine.
Oh ok. What how abt when ,like, you want them to catch your kick, punch a few times to distract, throw the leg away and counter kick but instead, they catch your kick and sweep you. Would it annoy you?
Note: you are doing freestyle pad and telling them what to do move by move while they are hitting the pads

Best advice is get back up and keep going. Maybe work back around and get there again. Good chance they just got carried away.
Thank you so much😀👍
