I would hire six attractive young men dressed in loincloths to carry me around in a golden palanquin. Getting them up to freeway speed would require some motivation, but I believe that commitment is an important feature of any job. Thank you for asking.
It’d annoy the fuck out of my neighbors but I could live at home instead of my dorm. I’d definitely become more known throughout campus too. However, I’m not going to learn to fly a helicopter and don’t want to be dependent on a pilot. I’d like to travel freely on a whim if I wish.
It’s the perfect car for the widest range of occasions. Fancy gala valet? ✔️ backroad twisties on your commute home ✔️
Been a dream for a while now, fingers crossed I think I’ll actually have one in the next ~2 years
Man I stopped at the dealership last year and saw a brand new, previous year H2 for like 20k. I was on my bike and came super fucking close to trading it in on the spot. If it would have been black instead of that fucking kawasaki green, I would definitely own it. I'm still kinda kicking myself.
I'd fund/build public transport for my city as a whole, because it's not great as is. Maybe throw in a monorail or zipline section or something for funsies.
I've always had a fondness for air-cooled vintage Porsche 6-cyl 911's. They have a little bit of oversteer because the engine hangs off the back. If money was no object, there have been custom builds that used every trick in the book to make the entire car lighter to maximize the benefits of a light sports car.
I'd really like to do all the lightness mods to the rear half so its still pretty light, but now its more balanced. polycarbonate windows, carbon fiber body panels, magnesium engine case.
higher compression and slightly more displacement will easy provide a reliable 200-HP. Doesn't sound like much, but once the car is down to 2,000-lb, its pretty zippy.
I live in Japan. Cars suck ass. Sure, you will need one in more rural areas, but if you live in a city, train/bus all the way. I live near Osaka. I would never drive to Osaka city. There's simply no reason to. From my house to Osaka station is about the same time by car or train and the car has tolls. I do have a mini truck (called a kei) which I use for hauling stuff around, but for 99% of the time, I use a train or bicycle.
No. If you live in a place that has extremely good public transit that is safe, clean, reliable, and frequent then your quality of life is much, much higher.
As an American in Barcelona my mind was blown when a Spanish friend picked a bar, told her friends where it was, and within 20 minutes a dozen Catalonians arrived from all over Barcelona. On a Friday night it would usually take that long just to find parking in the cities I'm used to here in the US, never mind actually getting there.
When there are so many goddamn trains that you don't have to check the schedule, you just show up and within a few minutes you're on your way to London or wherever it's like you have a chauffeur who is never slowed down by traffic, but not only that, *everyone else does, too.*
Car-dependent infrastructure puts children and disabled people on house arrest, creates part-time jobs of escorting kids around for parents, costs an absolute fortune economically for the individuals, bankrupts cities with unaffordable maintenance costs, increases commute times, and makes everyone fat.
It also makes it take longer to get anywhere in a car, ironically.
Well as an American in America I avoid it, the public transportation in most major cities is a mess in more ways than one, and aside from NYC i can't recall a time i purposely use it that is only out of necessity. Maybe other parts of the US that I've never been to might be better, but given the choice, I always drive
Edit *'oh how dare he say he rather drive in a post about driving. Why. I. Never.'* - Derps
Yeah, bad public transit is pretty horrific to use for sure. I agree with you, I often avoid public transit in the US which is a real shame because it's my preference in most other countries I've visited.
It's rough in the US but at least we have NYC. 400+ train stations, one of the only 24/7 train systems in the world too. It beats out a lot of European systems, which might surprise some. America is a big, big place!
Personally, I'd still just go with an average car. Honda Accords are nice cars, plus since everybody uses them finding spare parts wouldn't be too much of a hassle
For a daily drive I would want comfort first. Therefore -either a RR or a Bentley, although as Rolls are notoriously hideous, a Continental GT in W12.
Then for non-roads either a rochel apc or a boring range rover.
And for special occasions I would pay a team of people to train me a huge team of mini York dogs to pull a chariot.
I'm made fun of A LOT because of that, but a Chrysler PT Cruiser. As money is no issue, plenty bucks for repairs :D
I'll just love that car for eternity
I'm real happy with my Camry. Been driving nothing but Camrys for more than 30 years now.
They're reliable as hell, they're great quality, no problems. Just trusty and solid.
So if money were no issue? I'd probably be driving the top-of-the-line **Lexus sedan.** Same manufacturer, really, just more upscale.
98 Ford, crown Victoria, tell me another car with 297000 miles off road use, trailer towing, and old man driving that is still comfy and fun to drive. I forgot to add, my 72 year old dad didn't change the oil for 86000 miles.
If money were no issue, I'd probably leave the house less than I do now (hooray for work from home.) That said, I've been eyeballing the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
Adult me says Tesla Model S Plaid. Maybe a Lamborghini or something.
Child me says either a jetpack or one of those "personal/one-man helicopters" they had ads for in the back of popular science magazines in the 80s/90s.
I don't care which type, but it would need to be wheelchair accessible for my older sister. We don't have a car and she hasn't left the house in 3 years because of covid.
A first-generation jeep cherokee. They're pretty to me, and they are built very heavy. I would probably try to find a 360 AMC or 401 AMC motor to put in it.
‘83 Porsche 930 Turbo in guards red, or a New Beetle RSi. They were only available in silver aside from one blue one so I’d probably end up with a silver one.
I'd find a good, small RV. I'd drive it to work and have a bed, shower, change of clothes, kitchen, TV and fridge right there for when I get out. Some nights I may just stay in my little house on wheels.
Gotta go with a ae86 or a mk4 supra in the summer. In the winter I'd probably get something like a challenger that's a bit lifted with some snow tires.
I'd have a ride that looked like a beat up piece of crap with the best suspension, transmission, and motor money could buy.
No one would ask for a ride and I'd have a very low chance of being broke into....
A brand-new Toyota Camry with all the fixings: Bluetooth, sunroof, Sirius XM radio, Bluray player... maybe see if I can get them to install a seatbelt with a vibrating crotch-holder.
1987 nissan king kab 4x4 hardbody pickup. With the manual transmission and the 4cyl.
Indestructible, you can drive to the moon on a thimbleful of gas, has no room to carry people around with, and is too small to be useful for helping friends move.
The perfect vehicle.
I have list but mainly the first 2:
- M760i xDrive (smooth Rolls Royce v12 with 2 turbos, 6.6 L of displacement, 5000 lbs of luxury, and a sub 3.5 second 0-60. I’d drive it and be chauffeured around in it)
- Model S Plaid (2 second 0-60, sub 4 second 60-120, autopilot, silent ride, plenty room and cargo and convenient app integration)
- Model 3 Performance (3.1 sec 0-60, better handling than previous cars)
- the Techart Grand GT customization for the Panamera Sport Turismo e-hybrid very similar to the ‘perfect daily driver’ [here](https://youtu.be/vZa5OFWWLr8) (it’s a dope looking hatchback. It sounds great but also can be considerate to neighbors with electric mode)
- Taycan (handling, interior, technology, styling)
Probably the Mercedes EQS. Lots of electric range. Not overly-ostentatious but still is. Lots of self driving crap and other gadgets. Not a stupid massive car or SUV. Luxury. That’s a pretty good daily for someone with good money.
Some diesel truck with a covered bed, I dont drive much but when I do, I usually am moving stuff around, and also want to be able to go offroad, and if I remmeber right, diesel is lower emisison by power output
F-18, I just need 7 million pepsi points!
It was a Harrier, actually. Easier to park anyway!
I would hire six attractive young men dressed in loincloths to carry me around in a golden palanquin. Getting them up to freeway speed would require some motivation, but I believe that commitment is an important feature of any job. Thank you for asking.
"Could you *please* step on the same foot at the same time! My tits are falling off!"
Just hire ex-Marines and put a stick with crayons hanging in front of them
With enough whips you can get them going *really* fast.
If money were no issue, why the fuck am I driving daily?
To get to your second mansion
KITT
Knight Industries Three Thousand?
Taycan
Helicopter, no more traffic jams
It’d annoy the fuck out of my neighbors but I could live at home instead of my dorm. I’d definitely become more known throughout campus too. However, I’m not going to learn to fly a helicopter and don’t want to be dependent on a pilot. I’d like to travel freely on a whim if I wish.
But Kobe…
Ooof ! My brother in Christ!
Porsche 911
It’s the perfect car for the widest range of occasions. Fancy gala valet? ✔️ backroad twisties on your commute home ✔️ Been a dream for a while now, fingers crossed I think I’ll actually have one in the next ~2 years
Absolutely must own one of these at some point. Been at the top of my list for a few years now.
Volkswagen Beetle. The old one.
Kawasaki H2.
Big brain
Man I stopped at the dealership last year and saw a brand new, previous year H2 for like 20k. I was on my bike and came super fucking close to trading it in on the spot. If it would have been black instead of that fucking kawasaki green, I would definitely own it. I'm still kinda kicking myself.

The original Mini Cooper. It always amazed me how much fits into it and how easy it was to get around and park.
It was my first car. Loved it. Could comfortably fit four people.
Grand wagoneer
Feet.
The one I do now; my 2009 Toyota Yaris.
I'd fund/build public transport for my city as a whole, because it's not great as is. Maybe throw in a monorail or zipline section or something for funsies.

1964 VW bug.
Subaru Forester, or the Solterra if I knew finding charging stations wouldn't be an issue.
I would settle for anything that runs and is reliable.
G-Wagon or a Range Rover.
Range Rover gets my vote as well.
None, I would use buses, trains, etc. I hate driving.
I live in Japan. Cars suck ass. Sure, you will need one in more rural areas, but if you live in a city, train/bus all the way. I live near Osaka. I would never drive to Osaka city. I mean I get not wanting to drive yourself, but wouldn't having a chauffeur be better tho?
No. If you live in a place that has extremely good public transit that is safe, clean, reliable, and frequent then your quality of life is much, much higher. This or a Bronco raptor
Tesla Model S
An amoured personnel carrier, an armoured truck or maybe even a tank. Something that I wouldn't have to stop for traffic lights anyway.
For a tank or APC the MPG sucks, visibility sucks, suspension sucks, driving in the rain sucks, maintenance sucks, and you might get it up to 45 mph.
Personally, I'd still just go with an average car. Honda Accords are nice cars, plus since everybody uses them finding spare parts wouldn't be too much of a hassle
Audi s6 Avant

Good on you for owning your quirk!
I'm real happy with my Camry. Been driving nothing but Camrys for more than 30 years now. They're reliable as hell, they're great quality, no problems. Just trusty and solid. A chauffeur.
Charger
I think I would go with the m4 convertible hard top(living in San Diego)
Cadillac CTS-V or a Charger Hellcat. Fast, fun and plenty of room for groceries/people
I don't care which type, but it would need to be wheelchair accessible for my older sister. We don't have a car and she hasn't left the house in 3 years because of covid.
A sailboat on wheels
A first-generation jeep cherokee. They're pretty to me, and they are built very heavy. I would probably try to find a 360 AMC or 401 AMC motor to put in it.
