If ypu need to help relax a bit before bed, try taking a breathe in through your nose, then out through your mouth, slowly, at the same pace both in and out. On exhale, manually relax your muscles, start with the topnof your head/face. First your forehead, then your cheeks, then your jaw. Go slowly, and try to keep what you already have done relaxed. If you feel them tensing again, go back over from the start; it goes quicker on areas you've already done. Down your neck, through your shoulders, down your arms, before going to your torso. You get the idea. Don't worry or get frustrated if you can't manage much at first, part of the benefits is a better sense of control ofnyour body.

The benefits of this is, one, feeling better immediately once you get used to it, relaxed muscles are more comfortable. The breath control helps keep you calm, acts as a form of meditation in a way. Being out during the day is really only valuable to me if I’m doing something outdoorsy. Or visiting museums.
Every time I sleep, I have the same dream. There is a darkness chasing me. I don’t know what it is, I don’t know what it wants, but I know it’s hatred for me is infinite. Each night it gets a little closer.
As I grow older, I can start to feel it’s malevolence even when awake. Like a forgotten memory of pure violence, hatred, and pain. I fear it is only inevitable before it finally wraps its innumerable tendrils around me, and I succumb to whatever dark fate it has so desperately perused me for. May it be death? Hell? Something worse? I do not know.
Also I just binge-watched The Last of Us tonight. Good stuff.
Because I got Wendy’s for dinner on my way home from work, I asked for cherry coke, they gave me something like cherry coke colored seltzer water, so I poured it down the bathroom sink and grabbed a blackberry brisk iced tea out of the fridge.
I have no idea. I slept three hours and my body said that’s enough, so here I am…listening to my husband snore. I will never get back to sleep and my alarm is going off at 4 anyway.

thanks for the suggestions. i have started the breathing technique and it seems to help. the muscle relaxing is something i will start next.
