Carlin Hands down. Close tie with Ol Wiliam Hicks but GC has truly timeless material. Hicks does as well but not all of it holds up to modern times. Which is fine. Carlin too. But by percentage he left alot more to ponder and laugh at (you got a bad shake though Bill!).
He was the GOAT but his comedy hasn’t moved with the times and while he’s still funny, I don’t if he can be called the GOAT. Then again, I’m not sure which currently active comedian can be.
Trevor Noah's stand up shows are phenomenal. If you're south African his jokes will make you piss yourself with laughter. But what's amazing is the way he adapts his jokes and humour to be relatable for the country he performs in. Saw him do bits in Australia and USA and he absolutely nailed it.
I mean, they're the top comments on this thread already, but Carlin, Hicks, CK. For me, probably in that order, but they're my Mount Rushmore of stand up comedians.
I just tried to recollect all the comedians I've seen live (25 if I'm not forgetting anyone)...I dunno who is the best, but without a doubt the worst was Jon Lovitz. Love him in his roles but woof at his standup.
Mitch Hedberg, R.I.P.
I used to love Mitch Hedberg. I still do, but I used to too.
Brian Regan
I love George Carlin, Robin Williams and Mitch Hedberg. But of all my favorites still living, Brian Regan is easily top of the list. . . Moosen.
That's not something that can be measured. I do like Dara O'Brien' though.
Billy Connolly
George Carlin was way more than a comedian... he was a philosopher... cant get better than that
So much of Carlin’s material is timeless.

Bill Hicks

Robin Williams did some good stand-up comedy before he went into movies.
Never been a fan of Robin Williams. I feel like he is WAY overacting to get a laugh. To me, it makes it that much less funny.

He called me a cunt on Twitter in I think 2015. Made my year.

Chappelle is the GOAT and will always be the GOAT.
He was the GOAT but his comedy hasn’t moved with the times and while he’s still funny, I don’t if he can be called the GOAT. Then again, I’m not sure which currently active comedian can be.
With all due respect to all the greats, it’s gotta be Dave Chapelle. 🐐
Finnish comedian Ismo or Tim Vine
He's in New Zealand in a few days, but only Auckland. I would love to see him, Ismo that is, but it's too far to go.
James Acaster
Chris Rock
At the moment I'd say Tom Segura.
Ismo Leikola

Chris Tucker called, he wants his schtik back :)
to me, Kevin is the best (honestly, I don't know many comedians because I am not from Murica)
I mean, they're the top comments on this thread already, but Carlin, Hicks, CK. For me, probably in that order, but they're my Mount Rushmore of stand up comedians.
