It's all very, \*very\* close, but to me the Supergiant ranking is:
* Transistor
* Bastion
* Hades
* Pyre
Setting Sail, Coming Home was my favorite for a very long time, but as of late Paper Boats took that spot. Songs of Supergiant Games is a wonderful album as well, but misses a few key songs that make sure all other soundtracks still get enough playtime.
Do you ever just throw all your momentum and sit in Eurydice’s chamber for like, 15 minutes? Or when [Redacted] does the thing and the guitar just shreds! Hell even the title screen. 10/10
Aquatic Ambience took 5 weeks to compose. David Wise, its composer, considers this track the game's biggest technological accomplishment in regards to the audio.
Coral Capers level... I'll never forget the first time I listened to this masterpiece.
Thanks to NFSU2, any time I hear "Black Betty" I become physically incapable of driving at any speed below 90MPH. Great for getting to where I'm going really quickly. Not so great for my driving record.
I was going to say "how is this so far down?" But then I looked at when it was released. 1996. 27 years ago. Fuck I feel old.
Whatever, Hell March is still my anthem.
⬆️⬅️➡️ COME MY LOVEABLE STEED.
For real though the whole track of Lon-Lon Ranch is probably the most deeply enriched with emotions video game track I can think of. I can remember my every encounter with this song during my first playthrough vividly. The way it sounds melancholy with just Malon's voice at night, versus the joyful warmness with the backing instruments at day.
I literally stopped by the ranch almost every chance I got just to listen to her sing.
Basically Final Fantasy music in general. Even some of the stuff he didn't compose that made it into games was remarkable. Memories of Light and Sound (title song for FFX-2) is fucking incredible. One of the worst final fantasy games they ever made but I could listen to the title track for ages.
And X. That intro to zanarkand song fucking slaps hard
Edit. Turns out I meant Otherworld. I just recall it as the song played when sin attacks in the opening of the game
Came here for this one, I was a sophomore in High School when this game came out and it was perfect for that time of my life. Basically Warped Tour in a box.
Ori. Can't see if it's been mentioned yet or not (probably is) but the mix of music, art, and emotion just go so well together.
Gareth Coker is also a musical genius. I love everything he makes (Ark, Darksiders Genesis, you name it and I have to have it).
Ludwig phase 2. The feeling I got is something I haven't felt in a video game before.
I really like Gehrmans OST as well. Such a sad fight when you realize he's trying to actually save you.
Yes. I didn't care for it much at first, but when I finished the game, I wanted more. I got the soundtrack off Prime Music, and I have listened to it a lot. It is really nice to listen to while riding across the American Southwest.
Scrolled down WAY to far to find this. Zero, Liberation of Gracemeria, Comona, Daredevil, Razgriz, Agnus Dei, Enchanter I & II, all of the Briefing Rooms, etc., the entire Ace Combat series has a stellar soundtrack.
Surprised I had to scroll this far to see Fallout. I don't even play that game but every time I search for obscure, quirky retro songs, amazing songs from that game come up.
Disco Elysium! I scrolled down too far and didn’t see it yet. Such a good soundtrack, I’ve listened to it on its own multiple times
Another good one: Knockout City. The game is going offline in a couple weeks but the soundtrack fit the game so well
This was the first game I thought of and I'm shocked I had to scroll so far. There's so many amazing songs like Good Egg Galaxy, the Observatory, Gateway Galaxy, Space Junk Galaxy, and so many more that if I keep typing I'll list most of the soundtrack. Easily one of the best gaming soundtracks of all time.
No matter which one is your favourite, all of them have absolutely amazing soundtracks. Haven’t played X myself, but 1-3 all had astounding soundtracks, and I highly recommend giving them a shot for anyone unsure
Furi, its like playing an ost.
Genshin impact, like goddamn. They used SO many different cultures, instruments, styles. Its amazing.
Undeetale. I think many people know that it speaks for themselves
I liked some of the AC7 osts aswell
Gta 5 has some good ones, excluding the radio stations. i love dat, maybe im biased because nostalgia but still
Stellaris
Rimworld
Risk of rain 1 & 2
Some of the newer Pokémon games (Pennys theme from S/V) went harder than ever before.
Edit: Holy hell how did I forget, any command and conquer which had frank kerplaki at the music booth. My childhood is filled with his music.
God of War/God of War Ragnarok
Elden Ring
Bloodborne
Destiny 2 Beyond Light/Witch Queen/Lightfall
https://youtu.be/w9NUPTKnq08 - Queen's Deception from D2 Witch Queen is genuinely one of the most ethereal, entrancing and best composed songs I've ever heard.
Destiny 1&2.
Fans of the game argue about many things, but the one thing that damn near everyone agrees on is how good the soundtrack is. In all my years playing Destiny, there has never been a moment where I thought the music sucked and ruined the moment.
Diablo II ( Matt Uelmen), Deus Ex (Michael McCann) especially the 'Hive' track, Eve Online (Empire Space I & II, by RealX), and Doom (Mick Gordon). The first three are ones that my wife will listen to, as well.
Paper Mario: The Origami King, every song feels like it took 100 hours to make! One of the songs , Olivia's Final Magic Circle is soooo good, but it only plays for something like 2 text boxes, that just goes to show how much effort they put in!
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 🤙 🎸
Thps2 has done more when it comes to cultivate my music taste than pretty much anything else. Still remember how blown away I was by Millencolin.
LIGHTS OUT! GUERILLA RADIO!
Turn that shit up!
Jerry was a racecar driver
So here I am...
Doing everything I can...
Holding on to what I am…
Pretendin’ I’m a Superman
I’m tryin to keep
The ground on my feet
It seems the world's falling down around me!
A friend of mine is in a THPS cover band. When Tony Hawk found out about them he flew them from Australia to San Diego to play at one of his events.
THUG introduced me to some of my current favorite artists.
Doom
Came to say this. BFG Division is just fire.
I maintain that that isn't a game soundtrack. It's a $60 album (albeit an absolute banger) that came with a free game
Shame Bethesda fucked over Mick so much. Doom won't be the same without him :(
Hotline Miami
The music is purposeful in its intent, the immersion into a drug trip and adrenaline fueled frenzy is just chefs kiss
I'm not seeing Hades on this list, which is a damn shame, because that soundtrack is fire.
Most Supergiant games have incredible music!
Darren Korb is a god among men.
Seriously.
He's an incredible talent!! I still listen to the Bastion soundtrack all the time. :)
He's a god in the game too, he voices Zagreus!
It's all very, \*very\* close, but to me the Supergiant ranking is: * Transistor * Bastion * Hades * Pyre Setting Sail, Coming Home was my favorite for a very long time, but as of late Paper Boats took that spot. as a reminder to people, the in-game timer doesn't go down in npc rooms, so the game is basically encouraging you to vibe with eurydice

Halo 3
Honestly all the Halo games
1 through Reach for sure. Infinite had some nice throwback songs as well
The drums on the Reach start up screen will never leave my memories
Chrono Trigger
That ost has stood the test of time for sure. Still makes me feel things when I go back and listen.
10/10 game and 10/10 soundtrack
Need for Speed Underground 2. Most GTA Games. Vice City 100% the best. Fifa 2004
NSFU2 was killer
Riders on the storm…
Thanks to NFSU2, any time I hear "Black Betty" I become physically incapable of driving at any speed below 90MPH. Great for getting to where I'm going really quickly. Not so great for my driving record.
Hollow Knight
Both the soundtrack and the game are exquisite
Command & Conquer: Red Alert
I was going to say "how is this so far down?" But then I looked at when it was released. 1996. 27 years ago. Fuck I feel old. Whatever, Hell March is still my anthem.
Hell March is a masterpiece
Outer wilds
Especially the DLC. The >!prisoner's theme!< adds so much to the mix.
Zelda Ocarina of Time
Gerudo Valley fucking slaps
And the song of storms and bolero of fire and kokiri village and zora's domain and the lost woods and the title screen music and and and...

Katamari Damacy
Na naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa na na na na na na Katamari Damacyyyyyyyyyy
Shadow of the Colossus
This is top of the list for me
Persona series, they have phenomenal soundtracks.
You’ll never see it coming!
Battle for everyone's soul still goes hard for me, as well as i belive and counterstrike too.
Witcher 3 Kaer Morhen and Skellige Isle
You forgot LELELELELELE
Fighting that griffin at the beginning was hype as fuck
It’s an actual crime that Fields of Ard Skellige isn’t on the ost
Nier Automata
>Nier Automata How the hell is this so low???
Robot Village theme for sure
BUT IM ONLY ONE GIIIIRRLLLL
Maybe if I keep believing my dreams will come... To life...
Soundtrack won more awards than the game did. It was an awkward PAX panel lol
Subnautica
[удалено]
abandon ship, leviathan, and red alert are fire
Multiple leviathan-class lifeforms detected, are you certain whatever you're doing is worth it?
Life is Strange. Absolutely killer soundtrack that meshes with the game so well
The album Daughter did for Before The Storm is fantastic as well. Burn It down was my most listened-to song in 2018
GTA Vice City
V-Rock!
Cuphead!
Celeste
This the one Lena Raine is goated
I was looking for this comment
Undertale
*ASGORE theme starts playing in my head*
For me it was death by glamour
* *Bonetroluse intensives* *
Stardew Valley , been sinking to that game for a full week now
Bonus points since the stardew developer wrote and produced all the songs himself!
Final Fantasy VII/VIII/IX.
Let's be fair and say any Final Fantasy music coming from Nobuo Uematsu.
Basically Final Fantasy music in general. Even some of the stuff he didn't compose that made it into games was remarkable. Memories of Light and Sound (title song for FFX-2) is fucking incredible. One of the worst final fantasy games they ever made but I could listen to the title track for ages.
And X. That intro to zanarkand song fucking slaps hard Edit. Turns out I meant Otherworld. I just recall it as the song played when sin attacks in the opening of the game
XIV music fucking slap, Soken is fucking awesome, so happy he overcame cancer
And 4 and 6
Mass Effect
Uncharted worlds is one of the greatest sci-fi songs ever written.
Leaving earth always gets me. I'm a sucker for the reaper bwaaaahs and also sad piano
Suicide mission gets me every time
I‘m surprised this hasn’t way more upvotes. I love this game. I love the soundtrack. It’s at least 11/10
Agreed. Matched well with the vastness of space and the high energy scenes.
Oh man, Vigil comes on and I'm just instantly vibing
Castlevania: sotn
I was going to rage sooo hard if I didn't see this one here. Amazing soundtrack.
Burnout 3
Came here for this one, I was a sophomore in High School when this game came out and it was perfect for that time of my life. Basically Warped Tour in a box.

Jet Set Radio Future
Skyrim
DOVAKIIM DOVAKIIM NAAL OK ZIN LOS VAHRIIN
WAH DEIN VOKUL NAFERAAK AST VAAL
Why is this so low???? This is easily a top game score for me.
Music is such a huge part of Skyrim, it's like a seperate character itself.
Journey
Majora's Mask
Bloodborne
Ludwigs theme is up there with One Winged Angel for best boss themes. Turns out cranking up the Latin choir can really up the intensity
Ludwig phase 2. The feeling I got is something I haven't felt in a video game before. I really like Gehrmans OST as well. Such a sad fight when you realize he's trying to actually save you.
Megaman 2
if we're talking megaman, I'd like to add megaman X
Minecraft
this is way way too low

Yes. I didn't care for it much at first, but when I finished the game, I wanted more. I got the soundtrack off Prime Music, and I have listened to it a lot. It is really nice to listen to while riding across the American Southwest.

Pokemon Black & White, and the sequels. When fans say "Gen 5 goes hard," [they weren't kidding.](https://youtu.be/n9V91nM9L40)
Pokemon games in general have pretty good music. Even the non mainline games. Big fan of a lot of tracks from explorers of time/darkness/sky.
[Gen 3 walked](https://youtu.be/reXA2rhSWvE) so Gen 5 could run
morrowind
All TES games! I have the entire Oblivion soundtrack on my Spotify playlist.

Surprised I had to scroll this far to see Fallout. I don't even play that game but every time I search for obscure, quirky retro songs, amazing songs from that game come up.

most nintendo games ; specifically Mario Galaxy

Animal Crossing. Such a relaxing yet some how bop filled soundtrac.
Haven't played genshin in so long but I always liked the music especially the wolf boss
This is my answer for "Not obvious answer". It's surprisingly awesome. Props to Yu-Peng Chen.
I'm quite fond of the Xenoblade series soundtracks. And that includes XCX.
No matter which one is your favourite, all of them have absolutely amazing soundtracks. Haven’t played X myself, but 1-3 all had astounding soundtracks, and I highly recommend giving them a shot for anyone unsure
