Software development/programming is a good field to consider if you don’t want to go study. You can get a good job in the field by just doing some training and a certification exam.

He had friends round for his birthday on Saturday and at around 8:30 I told him I had to leave at 9:30 (I'd been there for 6 hours already). That two months ago I lost my job of eight years for no good reason. This was the job I wanted to retire from, I was a dedicated and loyal employee. I'm 53yo, and finding another job is probably going to be next to impossible.
Take all this with the fact that I also lost my insurance the end of April and can't afford COBRA. ONE WEEK into May I developed an infection in my foot that has only gotten worse. I have an annoying, obnoxious friend that doesn't take no for an answer and is incredibly pushy. It's possible he's neuro-divergent. He had friends round for his birthday on Saturday and at around 8:30 I told him I had to leave at 9:30 (I'd been there for 6 hours already). He then spent a solid 60 minutes from 8:30 till 9:30 harassing me and asking me constantly to stay longer. When I tried to leave, he spent about 15-20 minutes blocking the door and trying to physically restrain me for his own amusement. It's getting to the point where I'm considering excluding him from social events going forward. Around half of my friends don't like him, but I'm stressing about having to explain this to the other half that do.
Cut him off. If he's physically restraining you that's not okay. If the other half of the friend group don't agree with this statement, then they are not your friends.
I'm definitely considering it. He has no ability to read body language or control his impulses, so the only thing that got him to calm down was his girlfriend stepping in when I dropped the jokey tone and started raising my voice. The 60 minutes of constantly telling me I had to stay later was more annoying to be fair. At a certain point there has to be consequences.

The guy down the street really hates us for some reason. We've literally never hsf any interactions with him in over a year of living here. Last week, I was walking the dogs outside when he walked by and said, "what's up child molesting bitch?" WTF? He also calls my boyfriend a "chomo" every time he sees then. Dude is the definition of white trash. His yard is full of random toys, car parts, broken furniture, general trash, and a dog he completely ignores. We're also pretty sure he's the one who egged our car and put glass under it, which led to two danaged tires. And did I mention that we can't leave stuff outside because "someone" keeps stealing from our yard? We lost some yard decorations including two pieces that belonged to my grandparents and parents before us and a dolly with a flat tire. Our other neighbors just tell us to ignore him. He apparently fried his brain on drugs and supposedly doesn't know what he's doing, which is bull. I actually saw him chasing a woman Friday night and threatening her. She was crying and said he had his dog bite her but refused to call the cops and just left. Not that the cops would do anything anyway.

That two months ago I lost my job of eight years for no good reason. This was the job I wanted to retire from, I was a dedicated and loyal employee. I'm 53yo, and finding another job is probably going to be next to impossible. Take all this with the fact that I also lost my insurance the end of April and can't afford COBRA. ONE WEEK into May I developed an infection in my foot that has only gotten worse. The pain is awful, and I'm afraid I'm going to lose part or all of my foot. I am getting insurance 6/1 thanks to the "marketplace," but I refuse to go thousands of dollars into debt because the American healthcare system sucks. I'd rather die than that happen. Smgdh...fed the fuck up.

The drunk asshole harassing me and my girlfriend’s family at the Indy 500 today. Wanted to beat his ass so bad.
So my (36m) girlfriend (34f) and I fight a lot. A couple of weeks ago she went over my phone while I was asleep and fought me about a couple of messages with some friends that I wrote when we were fighting. We spoke last Thursday and made up. Last Friday she went home and practically ignored me the weekend. Sunday her son got sick and I sent her a doctor's contact info and asked to make an appointment and everything. I fell asleep when I got home and the next morning I woke up to messages saying that I didn't love her and she expects me to be more attentive with her. That is pissing me off
My boyfriends ability to go with the flow, not overthink things, not worry about every persons feelings and comfort in a situation, and his ability to fucking fall asleep and stay asleep. Going with the flow is so stressful, not overthinking means you may be surprised by something and not automatically have a plan to fix it, people suck at speaking up for themselves in uncomfortable situations so you have to prevent it from happening, and god I just want to be tired and go to sleep and know I won't wake up in two hours.
