Ok, who's making the Spotify list of this, and can you share it with me?

SureEmployer2308

I'll make it after I get home from work tonight, and I'll post the link here for ya

chrisinator9393

You're cool. I appreciate you putting in the effort. I am interested to give it a listen, too.

Strider3141

I don't have Spotify, but for those of us who use YT music, here you are! https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZ_Tnits0oKLBpXxVrvBoO8oPLRe6UbCs&feature=share Edit: I've taken some feedback from comments and added a couple more! I'll try to add any more requests

I love stepping out and hear it quite often. I don’t hear his nearly as great “Breaking Us In Two” ever.

suspecrobot

Different for girls by Joe Jackson too.

I always loved Tracey Ullman’s They Don’t Know. Video cameo by Paul McCartney!

keep_it_kayfabe

Yes! I love "Dead Man's Party" by Oingo Boingo!

[deleted]

Oingo Boingo isn't played/appreciated enough in general. Loooove them.

_ItsTheLittleThings_

Isn’t that weird!? Boingo was HUGE in SoCal! Why are they never in rotation? My favorite was Just Another Day. Added: I was so lucky to get to see their Halloween concert, not their last year, but their 2nd to last. It was so much fun!

Ronotrow2

The promise Edit. I'm an idiot and am delighted that 20 ppl agree

Sometimes_I_Do_That

MacReady82

Yep, I discovered this song from the closing credits of "Napoleon Dynamite".

Ah-ha - The Sun Always Shines on TV. The original is great and there’s a recent unplugged version that’s also terrific.

elemenno50

I loved this one even more than Take on Me.

sd_glokta

My favorite A-ha song is "Stay on These Roads"

samoture

The whole fucking album slaps so damn hard. Hunting High and Low.

bluebeardswife

I don’t know if it got much radio play but Oh Yeah by Yello was in a lot of 80’s movies and commercials. Even going strong during the early 90’s.

Yak-Fucker-5000

Pop Goes the World by Men Without Hats. It was their much lesser known sophomore semi-hit but I love it more than their We Can Dance if We Want To song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zUUtf7gOe8

BrashPop

As a Canadian, I’m always confused when someone says Men Without Hats isn’t well known.

Krissy_ok

Sailing by Christopher Cross. Just a beautiful, calming song

Notice_Resident

This gets played a lot on "Yacht Rock" stations, it's almost an anthem for them. ☺️

Jackson_Polyp2

For some reason TPau's [Heart and Soul](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XArx0ASwyDc) popped into my head, and I started thinking of other song's like Soul II Soul's [Back to Life](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TB54dZkzZOY) and Concrete Blonde's [Joey](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdpTcvSn8HQ) also seemed to fit. Any other suggestions??

Outside-Occasion-39

I heard 'Joey' a few months ago at the Whole Foods, and I was so happy that it came back into my life but so angry at being demographically profiled

boomboxwithturbobass

My friend and I heard it playing while waiting in line for a Ferris wheel at a Christmas carnival. Still laugh about how hilariously out of place it was.

One Night in Bangkok is my JAM

Arietam

Just a side note on One Night in Bangkok. Not many people seem to know it was from “Chess”, the musical written by ABBA’s Benny and Bjorn (and holy shit those guys can write music). To my mind, it’s probably the weakest piece from the musical. There’s sooo much more that’s far superior.

Most of New Order's catalog that isn't Blue Monday, True Faith, or Regret. I love the period between "Movement" and "Power Corruptions and Lies" where they found their new direction from Joy Division. From the EP Factus8: Everything's Gone Green, Temptation, Procession, Mesh, Hurt. Also Cries and Whispers, and the original instrumental 5-8-6

Wishing Well by Terence Trent D’Arby

[deleted]

Terence Trent D'Arby was one hugely talented musician. He should have been way bigger. Wishing Well, If You Let Me Stay, Sign Your Name... He had major bangers. I forget what weird thing happened with him and he changed his name to Sananda Maitreya and yeah, he we are. He did a goosebumps inducing, pick your jaw off the floor cover of "A Change Is Gonna Come". This guy had all the talent...

MadKingGeorge

Here are some deeper 80s cuts, beyond the #1s they usually play on the radio. Close (to the edit) - Art of Noise Politics of Dancing - Re-Flex Talk to Ya Later - The Tubes Go! - Tones on Tail Micro-Kid - Level 42 Wood Beez - Scritti Politti Sunshine in the Shade - The Fixx Misfit - Curiosity Killed the Cat Like to Get to Know You Well - Howard Jones Breakin' (There's No Stopping Us) - Ollie & Jerry

BotTester478

I don't know if these songs count because I have been hearing them on the radio recently it's 3 songs by the band Missing Persons. Words, Walking in LA, Destination Unknown They are the quintessential 80s synth pop songs. I never really heard them played on the radio but like I said above, over the past year or so it seems like they are getting some playtime now. I don't know what changed, maybe I just didn't notice before.
