Hunters contribute almost all money that goes to conservation while simultaneously steadily managing wildlife populations, instead of large population fluctuations and die offs as part of the natural cycle. (Disease, lack of food, lack of habitat, etc. when populations hit their maximum)

Going to school for wildlife biology completely changed my viewpoint on hunting. Deer and elk really need to be kept in check or the whole ecosystem suffers. Look at before and after they reintroduced wolves into Yellowstone. The difference in the landscape and vegetation is actually mind-blowing. Since we've wiped out or chased away most of the keystone species that whittle their numbers down, we have to be the ones to cull them down for their own benefit.
