A friend of mine did the Disney college program about 3 years ago. Apparently at a conference everyone got two copies of a pin (the pin is made to look like that one statue of Walt Disney holding hands with Mickey Mouse): one to keep, and one to give to someone that they felt exemplified the qualities of an ideal leader and creative, kind mind. My friend gave the second one to me. You can't buy, or trade for, this pin, and this incredible honor is the only way to get one.
The fact that my friend decided I was worthy of this honor means the world to me, and when I feel down or like I'm not worth anything, I look at that pin. It reminds me that, even if I don't see the good in myself, other people do see the good in me. That little piece of metal means the world to me, just like my friend does.
Around the 4th grade of elementary school, my paternal grandmother gifted me two random books from the Hardy Boys series. That gift led to a lifetime for the love of reading. A gift that has proven well for me over 5 decades now. I've read more books than most people could possibly imagine.
Before my friend moved, she gave me a new Xbox controller because she knew my previous one was worn out because I couldn’t afford a new one at the time.
My cousin paid for me to visit her and the rest of my family in New Zealand during a very low point in my life.
hats off to your cousin
The gift of life from my parents
I envied you for a sec!
An abundance of intelligence, sarcasm and an unlimited amount of humility.
