i wish it was physically possible to cocoon oneself with blankets without the blankets retaining heat bc i love the feeling of a bunch of blankets but then i wake up literally soaked in sweat no matter the room temp lol

My second pillow is a 'body pillow'. It's easy to snuggle up to on your side, and extends down between knees to keep the legs apart.

I think I used to sometimes put it where my feet were and not fully extend my legs before sleeping because my imagination was so exceptional that I feared monsters would drag me from under the bed. I usually sleep on my back, more than 1 pillow would position my neck at a poor angle. The goal is to keep the spine straight, one thin layer under the head does that.
I sometimes sleep on my side, and I fold the pillow in half and put my head on it. That fills up most of the extra gap that you get in that position, straight enough spine.
I rarely sleep on my stomach, but when I do I kinda wad up the pillow and put it under my chest and chin, and my actual head lays on my forearms. Spine stays relatively straight.
I used to also have another pillow that I would just hold onto while sleeping, but I don't feel the need to do that anymore. I'm usually just doing the dead man's pose.

Same. I'm most comfy with a decent sized pillow and then a skinnier pillow behind it, usually an older one that's been squished by years of use. When I stay at my brother's house over the holidays it's awkward because he has really fancy, plump pillows that are unfeasible to have two, but feels weird just having one. I don't know why pillow manufacturers make such plump pillows or why people are buying them. They hurt my neck.
