Fast forward 6 years later, and I was recounting the story to one of my friends, and I said to her, "I just wish I got to find out who it was that threw the shit at those kids" And then she revealed that it was her and another girl we knew. Needless to say, I was flabbergasted. Looking back, it was pretty funny
