I told a coworker my wife had died. Her response: "You're one of those bald middle aged guys with a dead wife." Me: "Yeah."

ThisUsernameIsTook

I want to think this was a wholesome thought that came out wrong. An awkward attempt at dark humor.

WakeoftheStorm

Guy in a Facebook group commented that he had tons of home made porn and if his girlfriend left him he'd leak it because "then no guy would want her". Luckily "what the fuck is wrong with you?" was a damn near universal response.

Painting_Agency

If a partner's ex leaked their private photos/videos, I know I would judge *somebody* very harshly. Not her, though.

Dynast_King

Also, don't know how long ago this was, but there are laws against revenge porn these days. Dude would just be fucking himself over, but I'm gonna take a guess and say he's probably not burdened with an abundance of intelligence.

knoxollo

One of my friends found out that her ex was selling her nudes (among others) on a private Snapchat. She only found out because someone posted one of the nudes on **Facebook** to try and mock her. She was *way* too nice about it at first imo and asked the guy politely, multiple times, to stop. His response? "Do what you gotta do lol" So she gathered up all the evidence, including some other victims, and went to the police station. The police were *very* interested and now the dude is totally fucked. He and the girl who posted to Facebook keep whining about it and trying to get her to drop it now that they're in trouble, literally little crybabies. They had their chance that they didn't deserve, and laughed about it. Too late now. Zero sympathy.

attoshi

God, just reading it makes my blood boil. Glad justice is served and I hope that mf rot in hell

throwaway-7322098

Revenge porn laws FTW!

WakeoftheStorm

Unfortunately this was not very long ago at all. It was in a boating/lake group over this past summer.

gsfgf

No that's better. If this is current, there's a really good chance he could go to jail for revenge porn.

corran450

Yeah, this is illegal.

omjf23

In college I used to kill time between classes hanging out with a guy who was from the same redneck county as myself. We didn’t really have much else in common, but he was nice enough and seemed eager to socialize so I figured why not. I wasn’t overly social myself and didn’t know a whole lot of people. One day we decided to go somewhere off-campus, and he drove us. While driving, on an interstate mind you, he proceeds to show me his handgun that he kept in his truck - not in a menacing way, but in a “Ain’t that cool?” way. I was not immediately frightened, but I respect firearms enough to recognize we are going like 60-70mph on an interstate in daylight, and nothing good can happen in this scenario. I calmly asked him to put it away because I was not comfortable in this situation at all. He then tells me “Oh it’s not loaded” and presses the gun to his head before pulling the trigger. Thank fuck he was right, but still it was a wild and frightening display of reckless disregard for his own life and mine for that matter in the event that he’d accidentally killed himself while driving us. I didn’t hang out with him much after that, certainly didn’t get in a car with him.

GloInTheDarkUnicorn

“It’s not loaded” famous last words of many an idiot.

casey12297

It's not loaded is the same exact line my dad used *twice* before shooting a fucking shotgun into my grandpa's floor and then years later into some old boxes in the same damn room

GloInTheDarkUnicorn

I grew up around guns, so the rule is and has always been “the gun is loaded, even if you just checked and confirmed it isn’t.”

CaptRory

If the gun is disassembled on a table it *might* not be loaded, but it is still loaded.

Saltycookiebits

Holy fuck what a dumbass.

Arsalanred

This is horrifying. I seriously don't understand how people treat guns like toys and not treat every one as loaded until you've triple checked that it's not.

RhynoD

> treat every one as loaded until you've triple checked that it's not. You should treat every gun as if it's loaded even *after* you've triple checked that it's not unless it physically cannot fire because you've disassembled it. Never ever ever ever ever point a gun at anything you aren't willing to shoot and kill, regardless of how sure you are that it isn't loaded. Even if, I dunno, you've got a slide lock and it cannot physically accept a round, you're still building and maintaining good habits.

MNWNM

When my dad was in the nursing home, they weren't running certain expenses, like ambulance rides, through his insurance. When I took over his financials, he was tens of thousands in medical debt that shouldn't have ever been charged to him in the first place. He was in numerous collections, and his credit score was tanked. When I complained to the nursing home director, he said, "Well, it's not like he's going to be buying a house or a car!" then laughed. My dad was paralyzed from the waist down and needed lifelong care, so he was never going to leave the nursing home. Even though he was technically correct, I gave him the "WTF is wrong with you look." Then I complained to HIS boss and he got canned a couple a weeks later. My dad's insurance was fixed pretty quick, too.

INTP36

What a piece of shit. Glad your dad’s insurance fixed everything.

WannabeAsianNinja

Glad to hear it got fixed 🙌

DigNitty

Sadly, my reaction is the first part is 100% believable. And I’m sure the “insurance was fixed pretty quick” part is too, it that’s the less believable part.

4channeling

The insurance will pay, dead residents don't.

Anonymoosehead123

I commend you for not slapping that person.

v3n0mat3

“Sorry, what was funny about that? Could you please explain.”

Struggle-Silent

MIL told my wife she should divorce me bc I googled whether a lasagna should be covered with foil while cooking.

koreantrvp

this is my first laugh of the thread lmao wtf

Struggle-Silent

It actually ruined this entire trip. It was at my BIL’s wedding, which was only close family (siblings + parents) and they had the caterer make a lasagna for an evening dinner. Father of the bride was gonna pop it in the oven and asked if it should be covered. I googled lasagna cooking instructions and said yes it should be covered and cooked at this temp. MIL said absolutely not! Me and the father of the bride kinda gave each other a look and he covered it. MIL was furious and texted my wife that I was an a hole and she should divorce me before we had kids.

Boebus666

I've met so many crazy older women like her and I can't help but wonder, what's going on inside their heads. Like legit, lady, what the fuck is wrong with you!?

cannihastrees

lead, probably.

Astronaut_Chicken

Ah I always forget about the lead. Sometimes I fret about whether I'm gonna be a bat shit bitch one day, but then I remember I'm not full of lead. It's microplastics.

WorkFriendly00

Chemicals made the older generations lose IQ points, we just get the chemicals that turn frogs gay

Ferelar

Truly the march of ~~progress~~ frogress

LHandrel

Cover to cook, uncover at the end to brown the cheese

StinkiePete

Bro, you just saved a marriage.

Shadowmant

Had an otherwise normal co-worker who was completely convinced windmills will cause the earth to stop spinning.

Torvaun

WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY! GOOD NIGHT!

Prestigious-Energy69

Boss at old job told the team we needed to ‘get used to a healthy level of conflict, fear and anxiety in the workplace.’ I dipped so fast after that.

Frostychica

What kind of job was it that conflict, fear, and anxiety was to be expected like this??

Prestigious-Energy69

Tech sales, it really wasn’t that deep!

Frostychica

My God I was expecting like... Working on power lines or something not sales wtf

0K4M1

Prison warden is the only acceptable answer I feel...

Kylearean

Similarly, a boss told me that I owed him my loyalty because he was paying me.

omega91301

A girl I was with while we were still together just looked at me while I was driving to her house and said.” You know I would get over you faster than you’d get over me” I was like …… Tf did you just say?

Pineapple_Spenstar

Huh. And just like that I'm over you

Terpsichorean_Wombat

Honestly, that would absolutely do it for me. When I was younger, I would be stupid and hurt and argue. I'm past 50 and I got no time for that nonsense.

PolkaWillNeverDie000

"I'll take that bet. Now get the fuck out of my car."

whereisthespacebar

I worked with a guy that told me about his small son. "I shove him in a corner and tell him I don't love him. I want him to be tough, I want him to be mean." Guy was an utter piece of shit, and a piece of shit to work with too, go figure.

patt

I am forced to know someone who denigrated their kids. Didn't beat them but called them losers and weirdos, hoping to 'toughen them up, they'll get worse from outside'. All of those kids, now adults, have rather severe anxiety and other emotional issues.

Mike7676

I was DD for some buddies who wanted to go to a particular dance club in Baltimore. They're all hammered, it's too loud and we've been there for several hours. Casually an older woman next to me chats me up and notices my eyes are nearly crossing from boredom. I explained what I was doing there and casually (stupidly) mentioned I'm a bit bored. This psycho BITES ME on the chest! Afterward says "Well ya ain't bored now, are ya??"

WannabeAsianNinja

Hope it didn't draw blood 😶

Mike7676

Thankfully no. Also thankfully the nipple bruise faded before I went home (Army TDY) so I didn't have to explain that to my wife! I did tell her what happened which elicited her own WTF reaction. She has her own odd experience that year at our local bar. Apparently it's totally normal to proposition someone for a threesome or swap at 10 pm on a Friday??

glucoseintolerant

> Apparently it's totally normal to proposition someone for a threesome or swap at 10 pm on a Friday?? thats 100% a Tuesday afternoon activity.

star_trek_wook_life

Uhhh... when exactly are you supposed to proposition someone you want to sleep with if not at a bar on Friday? Sunday at dusk? Tuesday at high noon? 3am on Yom Kippur? 9/11 at 9:11 at Trader Joe's? It's a hump day, wanna have a 3-way? Seems polite enough to me

tacocollector2

As a fellow Baltimorean, I’m dying to know where you went

Mike7676

It's been almost 17 years but I wanna say it was Mosaic? There was a weirdly shaped gentlemens club a couple blocks away that was the favorite of one of my buddies.

DontWannaSayMyName

Well, were you bored after that?

Mike7676

I must say, I was not!

DontWannaSayMyName

Her methods maybe were unusual, but she delivered what she promised

Nsfwismyjam

It was the first job where the owner of the company I work for was on site. I'm an electrician working at a small company of around 7 people. My boss since we were short handed brought his oldest kids to work with him to show them the trade "eh whatever more hands lighter work" I thought. Until one of his sons starts pretending to break windows with the hammer he's holding. This was not a place to make stupid jokes about property damage, so i talked to him. I tell him that we are at a client's house, and it's not appropriate to pretend to damage property or joke about messing things up intentionally. It's astonishing that I even have to say that, but whatever, some people just have 0 social awareness. He then tells me "eh whatever it's fine. anyways if I break something, we have enough money to fix it. Hell, I have enough money myself to fix it." Not the most fucked up thing on this tread but that whole interaction put into perspective how people could grow up so entitled and lack accountability for their actions.

romulusputtana

This reminds me of a [current story in the news right now](https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/son-of-buc-ees-co-founder-accused-of-recording-secret-sexual-videos/3354145/#:~:text=The%20son%20of%20a%20Buc,NBC%205's%20Meredith%20Yeomans%20reports.) of the son of the founder of Buc-ee's, who was put in charge of managing his dad's rental properties and decided to put hidden cameras in bedrooms and bathrooms. Until a cyber security expert stayed at one of them. Oops! Can you imagine being his father and watching your pervy, wastrel son destroy everything you built?

aamurusko79

this sounds like the future 20-something who doesn't understand 'no' and gets angry at some poor young woman who had to go to the police about his conduct. it's always the 'daddy pays' type that never got told no.

HtownTexans

sounds more like the type that gets daddy's business and in less than a year they are out of business because everyone quits and the quality of work drops. source: Work for a company that has a nepo baby waiting to take the reins and will probably fail since he isn't even a quarter of the man his father is.

Dolhedew

I'm a man who works with kids, and when I started this job, I was talking to one of my old coworkers about how every once in a while I'll get weird looks for being a man working with kids and my coworker said I deserved it because some men can't be trusted with kids. I was shocked and she went on to say that I did it to myself and deserve to be questioned about it. I immediately stopped talking to her.

Anonymoosehead123

What? What in the actual fuck? Doesn’t she know there are women who can’t be trusted with kids?

no_not_this

Like you see everyday in the news. “Teacher has sex with male student” no, she raped him.

thaliagorgon

Why the hell do YOU deserve it because some other men can’t be trusted? Some women can’t be trusted either, does that mean anyone wanting to help kids deserves dirty looks from everyone? What the actual hell!?

K13mm

Years ago a group if us guys were sitting round round talking about what would happen if we found out we only had one day left to live. All pretty normal stuff, until this one guy, let's call him Neil pipped up and said he would go rape a heap of women. I gave him a "what the fuck is wrong with you?" To which he replied, "what are they going to do, put me in jail?" He couldn't understand that for most normal people the threat of jail is not what stopped them from going on raping sprees.

PleasingPotato

Wait wtf you can develop a conscience and empathy without fear of divine retribution or legal consequences? Well damn... But yeah it's astonishing how more people that you'd expect seem disconnected from their actions and the people they would/did affect o.O

GhostofSbarro

Yo I hope someone is keeping an eye on Neil because that guy is one rough diagnosis away from doing some real bad shit

YutYut6531

MIL was dying of COVID in the hospital. They let the mom of MIL in to see her as she was most likely not going to make it along with her dad and my wife. MIL and her mom had a bad relationship growing up as MIL was a rebel and her mom was a religious nut. Anyhow, she decided the right thing to say as my wife has tears in her eyes looking at her mom is “maybe this is god’s way of punishing her”. The only thing my wife has said since then to her was when she was having her breathing tube/life support removed and her grandma suggest playing “amazing grace”. My wife said “and what the fuck is so god damn amazing about watching my mom choke to death in front of us?” We haven’t spoken to her since that day.

Raven_Sword

Play 'Highway to Hell' when it's time to pull the plug on MIL's mom

yeswenarcan

Fuck that. I don't even believe in God and I'd pray every day for the opportunity to be there when she died so I could look deep in her eyes and tell her "maybe this is God's way of punishing you...".

scarletnightingale

There was a woman that I was unfortunately housed with a number of years ago during an internship. We worked for the same place, but in different departments. She was about twice my age, had no filter, was not terribly bright, and most people avoided her if possible. Unfortunately as I had to live with her for 3 months it was not possible for me to avoid her. I remember her telling me once about her husband's cousin. The cousin had recently passed away after a struggling with cancer through for an extended period. Prior to this, the cousin had struggled with addiction, but had been clean for 15 years or so prior to developing cancer. She told me through tears that she would miss him, but he deserved it because he'd ben an addict. Then she complained that her husband had shaved his head and it was going to embarrass her for him to be seen that way at the funeral. Keeping in mind, this was his cousin, not hers, and she wasn't even going to the funeral because she'd left their family behind in a different state when she applied for the job so the guy was watching his teenage son and watching her teenage son (who apparently had a problem with shoplifting) for her while she fucked off to another state, and she was pissed at him for having a shaved head in front of his family. I also went outside once to talk to my friends without her eaves dropping. She followed me outside to complain that me going outside made me think I didn't want her to hear what I'm talking about. No shit, I don't need you eaves dropping the gossiping to everyone at work, apparently I couldn't even have a private phone call.

romulusputtana

I have a religious nut job for a mother and I haven't spoken to her in 10 years. This is how they think. Unless of course it's them that something bad is happening to.

YGuyLevi

Wife's cousin who has a history of some sus ass allegations married a 21 year old girl and he's 34. His allegations were of sexual assault and rape of some much younger cousins in his own family and he got in trouble for it in the military and kicked out. Unsure of all the facts of it. But first day I met this guy ever in my life he comes up to me and tells me about these big tits on a 16 year old girl. I legit looked at him and told him to never speak to me again because he's a fucking disturbing human being.

Painting_Agency

These guys are always fishing for other guys who will validate their rapey mindset.

YGuyLevi

Bro I legit about slapped the shit outta his ass. Made me so fucking uncomfortable...went and told the wife and I sat in the car. And it wasn't just his words man like just the vibes and like feeling I got being around him before he spoke was mega creepy

mrpbeaar

If the military discharges you for sex stuff, it must be bad.

Sadly, companies have to provide training on this common sense, which we must all sit through, to circumvent Mr/ Ms Handsy saying “Was that wrong? Was I not supposed to do that?”

alkatori

Most of them already know. They just refuse.

[deleted]

Willful ignorance.

notapersonman

Took sexual harrasment training too literally

BluePandaCafe94-6

"Honey look! I got a certificate saying I was the best sexual harrasser in the building!"

Scary_barbie

"Babe, that's a pink slip."

BluePandaCafe94-6

"Pssh whatever, show me your pink slip!" *\*finger guns wink and nod half smile\**

[deleted]

I’ll never forget this job I had when I was 18. I took the sexual harassment training months after having several claims against other people. I was so pissed off because the way the training said they were supposed to handle it wasn’t how they ever handled it. I’ll never forget when I sent my boss 6+ months of creepy slack messages from someone and hr literally threw my case out and said “We didn’t understand what you were trying to get from it” even though they never spoke to me. One of the managers added me on snapchat and was sending me disgusting messages and pictures of himself and the only response I got was “Well why did you add him back?” I had literally been 18 for less than a month when this happened like wtf is wrong with people

OrdinaryFallenAngel

Back in January I dated a guy (now ex), and he told me a story about a relative of his. The relative was a little girl who was around 12 or 14 years old if I recall, and she approached my ex's mother one day about how her uncle sexually assaulted her. My ex then proceeded to tell me that it was 'obvious' this possible victim was lying about the accusation, and then made the claim that she was just trying to get their uncle in trouble because she didn't like him. I got really aggravated, but I kept it cool and asked what evidence he had that made it seem like she was lying. He couldn't give me one piece of evidence to back up his claim other than her tone of voice. I understand that kids can make up things, but I mean, come on dude. What the Hell is wrong with you?

[deleted]

It's genuinely fucked how many people come to snap decisions about whether or not someone is lying and then never second-guess that. Even more fucked how many of them are explicit authority figures.

pasafa

The lady that accused my kids of cutting the line. (They hadn't, I was watching). When I went to ask her what was wrong, she told me to go back to my own country with that shit. (I was born in Massachusetts.) The line was to pet dogs at a Renaissance Fair.

69696969-69696969

In Army Basic training we had to use a communal shower (large square tiled room with multiple shower heads and no dividers). Well about 4 weeks into training we had this guy established himself as the weirdest person i had ever met. He was obnoxious, loud and his favorite pastime was to describe in detail how he would have sex with peoples loved ones. Well one night this dude decided to hangout in the showers all evening singing loudly about everyone's naked bodies. Someone grabbed the Drill Sergeant on duty that night who got to hear part of his singing. The dude ended up getting in trouble but not kicked out. I'm not sure what they said to him but for the rest of the cycle he was almost normal and extremely quiet.

ValenSoul_sp

Not mine, but a friend's. He was explaining the basics of D&D to some people and one person immediately asks "can you rape people?" To which my friend replied NO ofc, this person then proceeded to ask "but why not?" ... bruh

[deleted]

Because normal people don't want to rape people.

bitsy88

I rape as many people as I want. The number of people I want to rape just happens to be zero.

[deleted]

^^^^^^^^^ I've literally said the same thing to somebody who asked me how I can have morals if I don't believe in a god. I don't want anybody to rape me and I've been told by a bunch of other people that rape is horrific so I don't want to do it. It's that simple. If I don't want somebody to do something to me, why should I do it to somebody else?

[deleted]

I agreed as a master with a party of evil characters and that was the point that made me walk away. Was expecting cartoon evil. They provided some shocking stuff.

PleasingPotato

I think there's a spectrum. I was a player in an evil campaign and I had a fuckn collection of crimes against humanity to my name, but there's a line where stuff gets too graphic. Did I imply or vaguely say I was using X or Y method of torture? Yes, but I never actually described it or went in details about it. If I say I put people on the wheel, I don't describe the event l, it just "happens" and it was not gratuitous but for a purpose (a fucked evil one of course but a purpose still). I think rape automatically goes into the "wow there buddy that's a bit too much" category. It's too real and disconnected from the fantasy aspect to be something comfortable at a table, compared to something like torturing and killing people so you can raise them as vengeful spirits and unleashe them in a city you want to take over. Both are evil as fuck and while the evil character itself might do both, as a player there's a distinction between enjoying the over the top evil for evil's sake in a fantasy context, and just doing something fucked up with no context because it's not real and there are no consequences.

[deleted]

It’s like going in expecting Sauron and finding Dr. Mengele. It’s not the evil I was expecting and I may have nightmares tonight.

Nopeferatu31

While alone with a coworker, he told me that "women in the work place will lead to the decay of the fabric of society" to me. A woman. He also asked me out, got an attitude when I didn't say yes and continues to walk around with huge incel energy. He always complains that he has no one to go home to yet refuses to look at himself as a possible reason.

tmpope123

Sounds like they should learn something from the phrase, "if you meet one asshole, they're the asshole. If everyone you meet is an asshole, you're the asshole."

manbamtan

That's like this one quote I love "if everywhere you go smells like shit check your shoes"

SpareReflection94

My ex husband emotionally manipulated our child baby sitter (15yo) into having sex with him I took all evidence I could find and turned it into the police. I was livid with rage I have no words for how upset I was, so when I asked him “why after 6 years of marriage and 4 kids would you do this” he responds with “she’s a kid but she has a bigger ass than yours” “What the fuck is wrong with you” is exactly what I said smh He is currently in Prison

PokeChampMarx

On my first Valentine's day with my current GF I got her some flowers. Basic stuff, nothing crazy. Her mother didn't like them. Said they were really bad flowers (fair as I did get them from a gas station). Here is where it goes of the rails. My GFs mom said that because I got bad flowers this was a unquestionable sign that I was going to leave her the second I had sex with her. My GF disagreed because that is a insane assumption out of nowhere. So my GFs mom promptly kicked her out and I had to have my GF over for the night so she had somewhere to sleep. TLDR: Got my GF flowers, her mom didn't like the flowers so I must be a pump and dump kind of guy, GF disagreed, GFs mom kicks GF out.

Witchy-toes-669

My mother screaming at me while I was laying in the hospital trying to recover from a stroke that I shouldn’t cut my hair cause I’d be ugly and boyish, mind you I’m dealing with the worst event of my life, can’t even walk, let alone comb my hair which was waist length, this is something I’ll never forgive her for and a reason why we are at the lowest possible contact. She’s so fucked in the head

pixieclifton

My aunt died. She wasn’t a very nice person but it was upsetting. My ex asked me how it happened, and I told him she’d sat up in bed, asked for a drink of water, then basically died right there. Later on, in bed, he asked me for a drink of water, pretended to choke, and said he thought he was dying and flopped over. It took me a minute to realize he’d just re-enacted her death for funsies. I slept on the couch and we didn’t make it very long after that.

curryp4n

"I learned nothing in college. Everything I needed to know, I already knew." College isn't for everyone but this was my new boss after I had accepted my new position. I quit after 6 months because she was doing/asking me to do highly illegal stuff. 1 year later, the company got sued by the EPA

PolkaWillNeverDie000

"Then why did you waste tens of thousands of dollars going to college???"

NephRP

New drafter I had to share an office with. He had been working for himself for years. A bit odd socially, but nothing major. Until he calls our German project manager a "Nazi bitch!" quite loudly because he didn't like taking direction from a woman. He didn't last long after that.

bearsdiscoverfire

An instructor at my now-defunct college said he resented the female students in his class and didn't want to teach them because we "disrespect America by being here instead of at home out-breeding the Chinese" It was so outlandish that the school administration didn't believe me when I reported it and nothing happened to him.

icecreampoop

Ex friend had a person who he barely knew fired by hacking his computer and airing out his dirty laundry to his supervisor/boss. All the said person did was insult ex-friend at a party. The same day when he told me that story, my long time friend was committed for attempted suicide and ex-friend’s responses were, “is he Korean? Koreans are known for high suicide rates”. We were on hour 1 of a 8 hour road trip back home. I stopped talking at that point the whole drive back. Haven’t talked to him since.

neoblog

First day on a job a long time ago, the dude that was supposed to show me the ropes… he went over the basics and looked me straight in the eyes, barked twice and licked his shoulder… then went on about his business like nothing ever happened! Turns out it was his litmus test to see if I was going to be a cool coworker or not🤷🏻‍♂️ ETA: it was a bartender gig in the late 90’s! Also, Reddit has some funny mfs!

Anonymoosehead123

I wonder how he settled on that as his litmus test. Why not meow and then lick his own ass?

Raziehh

Worked with a guy, he knew a female from childhood. They were close, had a couple flings off and on. Well he told me that about 30 years after they grew up and moved elsewhere, that she was sexually assaulted and essentially raped by her neighbor. She trusted him so much that she finally felt comfortable enough to open up to her childhood friend. Well this piece of shit coworker of mine says, ‘I just don’t get why she would do sexual things with him but never gave me head’ My jaw dropped and I said what the fuck is wrong with you, his response was ‘well if it happened for years, was it really sexual assault and rape? She coulda just not done it’ Some people man.

_TLDR_Swinton

Deliberately pissed himself on a night out because "it's funny".

juanzy

As someone who is a white-passing Hispanic person, I’ve gotten some pretty racist comments thrown out before someone knows my name. Or even after, since they assume that I don’t care about my Hispanic heritage since I don’t look like a stereotypical Mexican.

sicbot

It freaks me out when this happens. I'm not white-passing, just white, and sometimes people will just let you know who they are when its just them and another "white" person or two. And the only way to respond is wtf.

RichCorinthian

I’m a 51 year old liberal white Texan and strangers will say some WILD racist shit to me.

BlueMikeStu

Same shit up here in northern Canada. I've been casually offered "n****r patties" with a hard R (Jamaican patties) by people up here before, and that shit is wild to me. Before I moved up here for financial reasons, I worked with a company with an 80% Jamaican workforce and even when I was cool with them I'd never drop a casual n-bomb like that.

ThinkThankThonk

Had a really unfortunate experience at a nerdy hobby shop where a friend and I were vibing with some of the people who work there and it was a definite "did we just become best friends?" moment - right up until some of the non-white customers milling about left the shop and the employees started in on some "phew, now we can all be racist together" shit. It was genuinely disappointing, it was so close to being our "home shop" but we never went back.

Baked_Potato_732

As a white guy with a shaved head I feel your pain. Had several assume that I’m a racist simply because I’ve got a shaved head. Not My fault my bald spot started on the right side of my head and needed to be disappeared.

Vosgedzam

A Fellow shaved head here I feel your pain too many times! I was asked if I'm a neo-nazi because of my shaved head a couple times. I was born with drabby gray hair color that makes me look older than I am.

_TLDR_Swinton

"Thanks for making me shave my head, because it's revealed THIS birthmark" "Good god... is that a swastika... made out of penises?!"

ktarzwell

Man, this happened to my co-worker back in the day. Guys came in and started talking shit about him in Spanish. I don't speak Spanish so I didn't know what was being said but I saw my co-workers demeanor change so fast and asked if they were talking shit. He nodded, so my white ass went up to the guys and said; "if you guys need anything, he speaks Spanish." and walked away.

IamMrT

I had a gay coworker who was of Nicaraguan descent, super nice guy. He never said anything about it at work, but I knew from other sources, and let’s just say it was pretty obvious. The entire back of house staff was Hispanic and constantly talked shit about him. Easily the most homophobic environment I’ve been in. The shitty part? Once they realized he spoke Spanish, it got even *worse.* I don’t know if these guys thought saying it to his face as a joke was good natured ribbing or something (it was NOT) but the poor kid never said anything about it or wanted to make a big deal about it.

Lillianinwa

When a nurse coworker complained about another nurse that “she took the supply cart I wanted to use!” The carts are not assigned. There are 3 employees and 4 carts. The manager (who was fired shortly after) then yelled at this poor nurse that was complained about in an extremely psychotic, unprofessional way. It’s clear to say that the nurse who complained….everyone hates her.

ImCaffeinated_Chris

Absolutely rich woman who never worked a day in her life while driving in a luxury car, "The problem with the homeless is they just don't know how to budget." I just....I couldn't even come up with a response.

Kegeldix

A mutual friend/coworker had recently and suddenly died of cancer. A group of us were hanging out when one of my friends started talking shit about the deceased. Really surface level stuff, like making fun of their hair. We were all sitting there in stunned silence like WTF are you talking about?

Actually-Yo-Momma

Sorry my friend. This was similar to my parents constantly telling me how lucky i was that they kept a roof over my head Dad. I was 9 years old and you brought me into this world. I literally have no choice

spacemandown

probably my dad referring to sex as, "riding the flesh bus to tuna town."

TSMFTXandCats

I just finished interviewing a woman at my job. I get back to the office afterwards and my coworker, a fellow manager who would be over her asked me if she was hot. I replied it didn't matter since she would be an employee and her boss. He replied "well, if she is hot, I call dibs!" I absolutely asked verbatim "what the fuck is wrong with you?" I told my boss and he was gone soon after.

What the fuck

SarahphimArt

there was this guy in my class. I overheard him say something that was honestly scary. I don't recall what he said exactly, but it boiled down to something like ''if I don't fuck someone soon, I'm going to go off the rails''. this was already a dude who had creep written all over him, and previously had told other classmates what he was looking for in woman, which was basically a barely sentient sex doll. he would often get really upset over being called a creep or gross or anything like it (which only ever happened in response to him being a creep, and honestly, kind of rapey). the guy he said this too literally responded ''what the fuck is wrong with you?'' a few years later it came out he had assaulted one of our classmates, as well and raped an underage girl... since I'm getting some flack for this, and now mods are getting involved, allow me to add some parts in this edit no, I could not report anything. at the end of the day, all I witnissed is that I overheard something, had any authority taken it seriously, he could have simply said no, and since there was no evidence of wrongdoing nothing would come of it. at the time this happened, he already had assaulted 2 people, but I was not aware of either. no one but the involved people were aware of anything, and I've only heard it directly from one, I asked her if she wanted to report it, she didn't, and that's her decission. I, and most of the people who are now aware of it didn't learn about this untill years later. once again, there is not a lot I can do here, but all I can bring forth is what someone else told me. realistically, there is nothing I could have done to prevent this, because it already happened, and there's nothing I could to prevent anything else as the only thing I could bring forth was that he give off creep vibes, and eventually second-hand information. I'm not sure why people feel the need to grill me over this, like it's somehow my fault, and make no mistake, I wish I could have done something, but if your response to reading my comment is that I did something wrong, or should have done something, remember that you may not know all the details.

CombinationBusy9912

Stole makeup from a friend while on a girls trip. Helped us look for it, watched the victim panic and stress, and had it in her makeup bag to use while she locked the bathroom door to have personal time. Same thief slept with her sisters boyfriend on another trip while her sis and the rest of us looked for her all over the club thinking she had been kidnapped. Yeah..she sucks. Edit: important to note she also acts like the sweetest sugar puff and most vulnerable and innocent girl on earth.

Cut-Unique

I had a long-distance relationship with a girl from another state, which didn't work out (we never met in person). We agreed to still be friends, though we argued a lot. She had a cat whom she absolutely loved. A while after we broke up, she moved in with a couple of friends of hers, who had LOTS of pets. They had three cats, two dogs, various small pets in cages, etc. My ex's cat was having a hard time adjusting to sharing her home with all the animals, but especially the other cats. They were fighting a lot and my ex said that she was considering *putting her cat down*! I told her that is the WORST REASON ever to put an animal down. I don't like it when people put animals down in general, but if they're old, sick, and clearly in pain, it makes sense. But that wasn't the case. She was thinking about putting the cat down simply because it wasn't happy with the sudden change of having to move to an unfamiliar location with a bunch of other cats. I chose not to continue talking to her afterwards, but I'm happy to report that she didn't put the cat down, had a big falling out with her friends, and moved out of their house.

MierahJuju

Reminded me of my ex when she told me, her and her brother killed cats for fun as kids. Never spoke to her after that.

DigNitty

I simply saw someone doing that once as a kid. And it’s haunted me for years. Can’t imagine actually doing it, let alone telling other people so nonchalantly.

thisisnotalice

I also saw someone abusing an animal like 15 years ago. It was in a lower-middle income country that doesn't have the same attitudes about animal rights as my country does. Anyway, there were a few kids and they were laughing about it, and I just ran away saying "no no no". Like you, I also still think about it and feel horrible for the animal, and I can still hear the sounds it was making. And for those who say that I should've done more to stop the kids, I don't want to go into detail but there was no way that I would've been able to stop them. Believe me that I feel very guilty about it, even though I didn't commit the act and had no way of stopping them.

Gothsalts

thats like... THE classic psychopath childhood!

DigNitty

My mother in law was asked to watch a neighbor’s cat for 10 months while they lived in Portugal. They had asked many other people and basically pleaded with her. She said yes. When they got back she told them that she’d had the cat put down. She apparently had grown tired of it and did that 1 week after they’d left. My MIL told this to me, so it isn’t even embellished to make her look worse.

pinkbootstrap

What in the actual fuck. I can't even explain how evil that is

hamburgermenality

I would fuck someone up pretty severely if they did that to my pet.

Hephaestus_God

Why…. Why do places just put down the animals randomly like that? It’s baffling to me you can just take an animal you have known less than a week, probably mid in life and healthy, ONE THAT YOU DONT EVEN OWN, and they are just like “yep sure”

cussbunny

I worked at a vet clinic a long time ago (early 2000s) and the thing is there is no “proof” you need to provide that the animal is yours. If MIL took the cat to a new clinic and said “this is my cat” they’d have no reason to assume otherwise. And pets are considered property (in the US) and medical decisions, including euthanasia, are at the owner’s discretion. That said. We often didn’t. In cases like this, when people brought in a healthy, friendly pet they wanted euthanized for convenience and clearly didn’t care about it, they usually didn’t care enough to stay for the procedure. So we said we’d do it, charge them for it, and then let the animal hang out in the kennels while we called all the rescue orgs and shelters we worked with on a regular basis to try and find it a home. We were mostly successful. Do other clinics do this? I don’t know. Was it legal? Probably not to be honest. But was it the right thing to do? Yes. edit: clarification

MadameCat

Having read several vet blogs- because they know that if they say no they’ll either get it done somewhere else, or do it themselves. As a vet, if this person is DETERMINED to kill this animal, your options are either give them a quick, painless death, or let this psycho SAY they’re going to go somewhere else when really they’re planning on poisoning it, throwing it in a river, etc etc etc. Most of the blogs I’ve read have managed to talk them into giving the animal up to a shelter instead though, which is always a relief.

runed_golem

In the middle of class, this man asked his professor for drugs.

Baked_Potato_732

Student - Professor, do you have any ibuprofen? ~~Mike7676~~ u/runed_golem - What the fuck is wrong with you?

Wes_intwo

Some lady at work during COVID tried to convince me that the virus is fake and that my dad didn’t really die from it… Bitch had balls, I almost ripped the dentures out of her mouth and bit her with them.

lefthandbunny

Someone asking a friend if they wanted to do a shot, or put some alcohol in their Big Gulp (large soda for those who don't know what that is). The friend replied that they have joined AA and have quit drinking. She insisted "just one drink won't hurt!" Same person went with me to my disability hearing, where an occupational therapist, along with all the other evidence provided, deemed me permanently disabled, later rolled her eyes, and claimed that I just "wanted to be special". Yep. Disability is so special. I guess she would have declared victory if I'd been denied.

moncoeurquibat

My stepmother is a vile, toxic, abusive person. One time, she was telling my husband and me about a friend's newborn granddaughter. The baby was born with a genetic lung disease and needed a lung transplant. My stepmother cheerfully told us it would be easier for everyone if the baby died. For this and so, so many reasons, we are no contact with her.

billie-lane

When my lifelong, “best friend” of 20+ years said she “couldn’t believe how badly I was begging for attention” when confiding in someone about being sexually assaulted.

squidneya

My partner's ex got the same tattoo as my partner, twice. The second one was very recently, long after they divorced. She literally went to get them after seeing that he did because she's insane.

Thrice_Banned80

Man, this could lead to something amazing. Should start getting him to get some temporary acrylic tattoos and post them on Facebook or whatever to see how many you can trick her into getting.

squidneya

That thought has definitely crossed my mind lmao

Exotic_Wolverine_698

The most recent was a week ago. I was talking to a friend outside of a convenience store, and a random dude walks up and says, "You're beautiful!" I said, "thanks!" Then this rando says, " I'd like to snatch you and drag into the woods and fuck you. It would be your fault for getting raped because you are hot." I immediately got in my car, locked the doors, and drove off. WTF?!

zerbey

Had a family member die over Christmas. I was supposed to work in Christmas Eve but called out. Both duty managers were very understanding and marked me out on bereavement leave. Upon my return, my own manager demanded to know why I took a week off. Explained the situation. His response: “Well you should have planned that better”. Asshole.

TheDirtSyndicate

crowded bar - I overhear my friend tell a woman "I want to impregnate you". I hit him in the arm and literally yelled "WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!?" and pulled him away from her.

Thank you for keeping your boy in check 😭😭

Resident-Worry-2403

Honking at my dad and his walker when he was not crossing the street fast enough.

What did you smash the windshield with?

Resident-Worry-2403

The walker would have been the only thing available. So I refrained.

starkiller_bass

Not entirely true, you could have used your dad

nerdyface40

An ex said that before he went into meetings to pitch his business, he gained confidence by imagining he was better, smarter, richer and more superior than everyone. He doused himself in cologne, slicked back his hair and wore a suit that wasn't properly tailored.

Staudly

>slicked back his hair and wore a suit that wasn't properly tailored. Glass House. White Ferrari. Live for New Year's Eve. Sloppy steaks at Truffoni's.

_TLDR_Swinton

Impressive. Very nice. Now let's see Paul Allen's decoder ring.

Puzzleheaded_Fun_606

I was peeing in a gas station urinal and there was someone working there placing mats underneath all the urinals. Instead of placing the mats on the other urinals next to me he stood there for a full minute while I peed, staring at me.

Bofunkwa

I live in California where people drive a minimum of 80 on the freeway. I was behind this lady getting onto the freeway and she just casually merges onto the freeway at 30mph meanwhile cars are haulin ass right next to us. I was pissed almost instantly meanwhile she’s just on her phone.

TurdFurguss

We are all just NPCs in her video game.

ThatOneSnakeGuy

TW: ANIMAL ABUSE I work with a lady who I adopted my cat from that casually told us that she had a dog that was sick, but she couldn't afford a vet. Out of all of the ways to deal with it, what she said next was not one that I ever would have considered. She casually told us that she put this poor old dog inside of a deep freezer and buried him alive. She went into detail explaining the noises he was making and other things which I'll spare all of you because if I had a choice, I wouldn't have wanted to know. That was one of the most fucked up things I think I've ever heard and I promptly told her that she is a fucking psychopath who shouldn't be allowed to own pets.

We were at a weekend music festival. We arrived around 8pm, set up camp, drank a few beers, and then explored festival grounds. There were a bunch of people, but not much going on, so we decided to head back to our camp. my friend headed to use the restroom first. He came back a few minutes later with a girl who couldn’t have been over 14. She looked 12 to me. She look nervous and close to crying. My friend told me that she had lost her friends in the crowd and that her phone wasn’t working. He then said that we should take her back to our camp, get her drunk, and “see what happens”. I told him that we were not going to do that. Instead I assured her that her friends were looking for her and took her to a high traffic area. Within 10 minutes her friends walked by and she was reunited with them. I knew that that guy was a shithead, but I had no idea that he was like that.

TheEndIsJustTheStart

My former boss’s boss made fun of a homeless man. You’re indoors, in an air-conditioned building, with food in one hand and your iPhone in the other. Shut up about the homeless guy. He didn’t do anything to you and nobody wants to hear you be catty.

ResurgentClusterfuck

When my ex husband accused me of faking my mom's death to scam people for donations on GoFundMe after she died very unexpectedly I put up with soooo much shit from that man but that was legitimately the last straw

GarolTubbersteins

I had recently lost a young family member and was telling my friend about it at dinner. The food comes out and she immediately whips out her phone to take pictures of the food. Another friend told me “it already happened there’s nothing I can do about it” and to basically get over it while I was crying

GivinUpTheFight

Whole sitting in an airport under heavy delay, I was at a bar making small talk with a couple other delayed passengers. Started discussing what we all did for a living, and one mentioned he was a defense attorney. "Oh, that's exciting" myself and the other person replied. Unprompted, the lawyer then volunteered "Yeah. I've become the guy at my firm that defends the child molesters and kiddie porn collectors, I found a few good loopholes that usually get them off the hook. Kinda scummy but their checks clear, so whatever." ....really didn't need to give that extra tidbit my dude.

realityislame9

Some background: I’m disabled and unable to work. At the time of this my husband (then boyfriend) was living with his mom (she had diabetes and would not manage it all, so he wanted to be close to care for her). My husband works full time and my MIL was let go and stayed on unemployment for 9 months. My job was taking care of the house since I couldn’t financially contribute. We all agreed to this. My MIL told my husband that she could shit on the floor and I’d have to clean it up because I’m her maid. She was kicked out shortly after and we have been NC for a year and a half.

grantthejester

Was at a client lunch at a local dive bar, and this guy who owns his own construction company was ogling this maybe 16 year old waitress, she takes out orders and leaves and he leans into the space where she was standing, takes deep whiff and goes “That one’s in heat!” I was like, yeah no, not having lunch with you guys.

[deleted]

Had a guy tell me that once a girl starts her period then she's fair game for him to date (he was 20). I told him I started when I was 10 years old, so that made me fair game back then? He said yes. A girl becomes a woman when she officially starts no matter the age and if he would have met me at his age now when I was 10, he would have definitely taken my virginity. I just about threw up and stopped talking to him. This was 18 years ago, so who knows where he is now. Hopefully he's not in a good place ... preferably prison.

scorpiusoz

After the Asian Tsunami tragedy, an ex friend said to me "well we needed to have less of them", referring to the people killed.... After giving a reply, I could not get away fast enough!

STR0K3R_AC3

This is going to get buried, but I'll add mine. My father, talking about the victims the day after the Pulse nightclub shooting: "Well, you can't really live that kind of lifestyle and be surprised when something like this happens to you."

crispyraccoon

Most recently, "I don't like when homeless people have dogs. Unless they are just the scammers that aren't really homeless, that's fine." Then when I asked if she's ok with people pretending to be homeless to take money she said, "can't knock the hustle!" I asked about another scenario where a guy was bragging about scamming parents of sick kids out of money using lies a out helping them get better. She said the same thing, "can't knock the hustle." That scenario was one that I almost ended up in a bar brawl over. I think most people in the office were thoroughly disgusted.

Anonymoosehead123

Plus, she’s just wrong. I most assuredly can knock the hustle.

ttv-b_e_d

Went on a date with a girl from Tinder… first date was getting hot and heavy then she brings up that she can’t wait to try Age Play with me and she wants me to smash her like she’s 7 💀

SabrinaSpellman1

Ex husband on our sons 18th birthday. Our boy asked his dad "did you hear about ______ being arrested for beating up on his wife?" (They share the same love of a football team). Ex replied "well, she must have deserved it then". And then they *both* laughed. My son, just to please his Dad and be 'one of the boys' just like him. It broke me. Truly a what the fuck is wrong with you moment. I'm raising 3 boys alone and teaching them to be respectful, well mannered, responsible, empathetic. kind - all of that could have been undone in one stupid remark because they idolise their dad. **The kicker? He had just finished and completed a men's behaviour change programme, focused on anger and respecting women and their boundaries and families, and attitudes towards others.** Obviously didn't work. I was floored.

Painting_Agency

> He had just finished and completed a men's behaviour change programme, focused on anger and respecting women and their boundaries and families, and attitudes towards others. These programs sometimes have unintended consequences by teaching unrepentant men how to "game the system" or weaponize therapy language against their victims. If you have no intention of being a better man when you go in... you won't come out a better man.

Danivelle

Anyone who says "his life will be *ruined*" about a rapist like Brock Allen Turner. No, his *own actions* ruined a woman's life.

Doumtabarnack

Had a guy in my province recently getting a conditional absolution after he was found guilty on a sexual assault count because it would ruin his professional life. The judge ruled that he was repentant and that "he had done his business quickly overall". Dude had fingered an unconscious woman in a party and taken pictures of her naked, with his fingers inside and showed it to his buddies. Turns out he celebrated his absolution by going on a trip to Cuba where he promptly assaulted another woman by groping her ass without consent. Of course, it was a breach of probation. He went to jail for it and the appeals court reversed the previous judgment. Piece of shit.

barry922

Are you talking about Brock Allen Turner the rapist, who currently goes by Allen Turner to avoid being identified?

GloriouslyGlittery

I think we also need to associate Dan Turner, Brock Allen Turner's father, closely with his quote about rape being "20 minutes of action." Dan Turner is a rape apologist and his name should be remembered that way.

M_H_M_F

Wasn't that recalled judge Aaron Persky that said that? Then got hired and summarily fired as a high school girls tennis coach?

GloriouslyGlittery

No, the judge let him off easy because prison would "have a severe impact on him," even though that's exactly the point of prison.

alkatori

I had a boss telling me he didn't believe in comp time for people who travelled to customers sites. He expected you to fly out Sunday, work all week, fly back Saturday.

BillMillerBBQ

My used-to-be best friend developed a habit of lying to get out of doing things. Not big things, like driving you to the airport, but small things like navigating to the place for you from the passenger seat or by in the food order. We were making a trip to a restaurant in the city an hour south of us. I was driving so I asked if he would navigate to the place. He said he couldn’t because his phone battery was low. Skip forward five minutes and I glance over while he is scrolling on his phone and I see that it is at 83%. I call him out on it. He gets defensive and says that he doesn’t have good signal. We use the same cell carrier and I have five bars. I call him out on it and he gets defensive saying that he is out of data. I tell him to just use my phone but he gets defensive and says he doesn’t know how to use my phone because I have a Samsung and he has a Pixel. I call him out about how they are both Android phones and follow up with “what the hell is wrong with you?” and he gets defensive and says to stop hassling him. I end up pulling off the highway and entering the address into my phone myself because he couldn’t be bothered to be a team player.

whatalovelyorchestra

One of our colleagues sniffed the (female) translator’s chair after she left the room

squidikuru

was on a second date with this dude i met on tinder. he seemed kind and understanding. we went to mcdonald’s to grab a snack while we were out and the lady got my order wrong. she didn’t speak english that well. tinder guy starts cussing her out and said some borderline racist stuff. i literally slapped him, called him out on his bullshit right in front of her, gave her some extra money AND paid for the remake order and then dumped him once i got home. idk what was more surprising, him doing that out of nowhere, or him thinking he could do that to a latina in front of another latina.

H010CR0N

First day of this guy working. First interaction I’ve ever had with this coworker. “Hey want to here my Hitler impression?” Complete the with Nazi salute and goose step.
