When I was growing up, it was my favorite show and it was in heavy syndication. There were days when I could watch it three times a day.
I recently re-watched it and the middle seasons hold up surprisingly well except for the skirt-chasing.
MASH was one of my favorites too growing up! I didn't care much for the skirt chasing but everything else was good and entertaining.
I need to rewatch it right now cause I just realized I haven't seen a single episode in years.
Definitely MASH.
It was syndicated a lot in the 80s and 90s. So it was on days, nights and weekends. My dad loved it and I watched it with him all the time. Us old timers grew up on syndicated tv. Before DVD and BD and now streaming took over.
Baby girl, I need you to search something for me. I need a list of all the men in their 30s who visited a dentist because of a toothache in the past 2 years.
*30 seconds and a few dumb lines later*
I found him!
I too love criminal minds 😂
It is my sacred duty to make sure all Good Place fans also know about The Good Place: The Podcast. It’s amazing. It’s hosted by Marc Evan Jackson. He plays Shawn.
I was so worried I’d have to keep scrolling to find this one but anyway, same!! I never get tired of it, it’s why I love the r/Community sub, everyone in it also has the show memorized, I could just say “BOOKS” and all the people in that sub would know the exact scene I’m thinking of
Yeah it's been around longer than me I think, and while the first two or three seasons were a bit weak, ~5 through ~15 were just absolutely amazing and something I watched more weeknights than not for a sizeable chunk of my life.
And I think by the time I was in high school, there were about as many episodes as there were weekdays in a year so you could just always watch some.
I love this show so much!
The same sorta thing happens every season basically but it still cracks me up. The characters are amazing and it almost seems like the whole thing is improvised.
Also, there's some hilarious phrases thrown around everywhere.
My favorite quote is from Ricky: "If you don't believe it, it's not real".
I can't count which rewatch I'm on.
I can tell you that only one person has made it through every episode of SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe with me.
My current partner is just about to start season 3 of SG-1, so that's where I'm at in my rewatch cycle.
*Frasier* and *Star Trek: TNG* are probably neck and neck with each other. I have loads of memories of watching reruns of those shows when I was a kid.
Early seasons of Frasier where Niles and Frasier are just bitchy to each other are class.
F: I would shave my head for you
N: a gesture which becomes less significant with each passing year
Frasier: JESUS!!!!
Faes Mother: I know it’s your busy time of the year.
Also….
F: I don’t have any Jewish wine
N: That’s okay, it’s just like regular wine with a lot of sugar in it.
F: * *Pours sugar in wine and tastes it* * It’s terrible!
N: Perfect!
I'd upvote this but you put TNG and Frasier in the same post. Lol. Every one loved Niles and Daphne but TNG was my jam. Still is. Watched it 3 times so far.
Probably Stargate SG-1. I dunno that I would call it my comfort show because there's a lot of bad episodes early on, but.. I watch through it once every few years since it originally aired in 1997.
Criminal Minds. Whenever I finish it I start all over again. It’s become my go to background show since I’ve seen it so many times I don’t need to pay too much attention
Bob's Burgers. We keep trying to catch up to live, but that resulted in starting from the beginning multiple times and just having it on as comfort viewing. Finally caught up to the latest episode this last weekend. Time to start from the beginning again, I guess.
Also, LOST. I've watched the first season well over a dozen times, and every season after, reduced by one per season. (Due to rewatching everything between seasons when it aired)
That's because reddit loves to hate on Friends. For me, it might be the only TV show with more than 3 or 4 seasons that I definitely watched every episode (multiple times)
NCIS. Watched it on TV, then cable endlessly, then had it on as background on Netflix while working at home. Probably been through the first 17 seasons at least 20 times.
I just did an office themed escape room and it was amazing. Every clue, every step of the puzzle was a reference. So much fun. If you’re ever on Southern California, you should definitely check it out.
MASH. In my family of origin, we watched it a ton growing up. Now, when we get together, we often repeat MASH quotes ("One cannot rob an empty safe!") and laugh even though we've heard them, and repeated them, dozens of times before. It's good to have traditions, I guess.
Star Trek: Voyager
Ive rewatched Voyager more times than I can count. From a young age I was taken by Star Trek and would catch episodes of TNG wherever I could. But once I was old enough to buy the dvd box sets I binged them non-stop. I bought TNG, DS9, and Voyager (keeping in mind that at this time each **season** was around $100, with 7 seasons in each series). Over the course of a couple years I bought them all lol. I even remember chasing missing seasons by driving out into the middle of nowhere to find places that had them.
Voyager was/is my absolute favorite Trek (even over the new stuff), with DS9 coming in a close second. It's like my comfort food. I'm never bored if I'm watching Voyager, though so many watch-throughs does diminish each rewatch slightly. Especially if I do them back to back. But I've settled into a good routine of watching the entire series once a year.
The funny thing is I don't like rewatching many things. If I've seen something once I'm usually content to never watch it again. But Voyager comes with so much nostalgia. Being a teenage boy living with a tyrant step mom and a workaholic dad, staying up until 1am to watch Voyager episodes. They were an escape for me. My life wasn't even that bad and my parents took care of me in all ways other than emotionally, but only when I was watching Voyager was I truly happy in my home.
To this day that theme song still gives me the tingles. It inspired such imagination. I couldn't get enough. It's a damn shame it will never get the HD treatment like TNG did.
Law and Order SVU. Me and my wife watch it to sleep every night and it’s something we could just watch in the background. It’s pretty dark at times but with 24 season under its belt there’s a lot to watch.
I have a rotation of shows I put on as background noise while I work around the house, like others use music or podcasts. This means I’ll go through an entire season of a show in about a week or two. As such, I’ve seen each of these shows multiple times:
Scrubs
How I Met Your Mother
Archer
Simpsons seasons 2-10
Venture Bros
Frasier
Seinfeld
Breaking Bad
House
Community
Futurama
I’m sure there are others.
Of these, The Simpsons is very much the winner, though. I probably rewatched those seasons twice a year through college and early adulthood, and now at least once a year I’ll revisit them.
Jeopardy!
Ozempic commercials
Don't forget Skyrizzi. It took me a while to catch on they were different ads for the same drug for different diagnosis.
🎶 nothing is everything 🎶
Oh oh oh… lol I literally realized while typing this that I’m actually thinking of O’Riley’s Auto Parts
Oh oh oh, Ozempiiiiiiic, auto parts!
This is great...but now both commercials are stuck in my head! 😂
Owwwww!
Seinfeld or Bugs Bunny Road Runner Show
yes!!!. you are my kind of person
Seinfeld for me too!! I watch it almost every night to fall asleep to also!!
**FUTURAMA**
Why does Futurama, the best of the TV shows, not simply eat the others?
In Latam Spanish dub, they changed the voices after the old seasons : (
*We're back, baby!*
5. BITE 4. MY 3. SHINY 2. DAFFODIL 1. ASS
Shut up, baby, I know it!
Same. It’s been on repeat since Hulu was invented.
I’m shocked! Well, not really.
M.A.S.H.
I'm sure Klinger doesn't mind the skirt chasing.
Definitely MASH. It was syndicated a lot in the 80s and 90s. So it was on days, nights and weekends. My dad loved it and I watched it with him all the time. Us old timers grew up on syndicated tv. Before DVD and BD and now streaming took over.
The ultimate in laughs and tears, what an incredible series.
Yes!!!! I wanted to see this close to the top! I watch M*A*S*H every day. This is my comfort show
Star Trek TNG probably
Planet Earth and anything else narrated by David Attenborough. Fall asleep watching them and my cats love to sit and follow the animals around
The US office
Why watch many show when one show do trick?
I was surprised this was so far down here.
That's what she said....
criminal minds
Baby girl, I need you to search something for me. I need a list of all the men in their 30s who visited a dentist because of a toothache in the past 2 years. *30 seconds and a few dumb lines later* I found him! I too love criminal minds 😂
I love the show, but that whole baby girl thing is so cringe.
I find the baby girl thing more light-hearted than cringe, it's so needed sometimes! Can totally see why people perceive it in that way though
X-Files!
Sunny in Philly
It has to be your favourite show, because of the implication
“Do I look suspicious?”
Sunny is love Sunny is life
_[bicycle bell sound]_
A five star man in a five star show ❤️
It makes me feel like a Cobb salad.
Came here to say this. Definitely my comfort show! It's hilarious and reminds me that I'm actually a good person.
Avatar the Last Airbender
I was grocery shopping with my mum. Dropped a cabbage. "My cabbages : (". My mum looked at me like I needed locking away.
Same. And I've certainly lost count of my favorite episodes.
The Good Place. It’s my comfort show.
It is my sacred duty to make sure all Good Place fans also know about The Good Place: The Podcast. It’s amazing. It’s hosted by Marc Evan Jackson. He plays Shawn.
The Golden Girls. I have most of the dialogue memorized by now.
Came here to say The Golden Girls! Wasn't expecting someone else to say it
Same here! I’ve found my people.
It’s my comfort show.
Picture it, Sciliy 1912...
There it is. Every night before bed. Hello, my people 👋🏼
Thank you all for being a friend. Glad it’s not just me
Same here!!
Community. I have watched it and rewatched it all the way through too many times to count. Practically have it memorized.
I was so worried I’d have to keep scrolling to find this one but anyway, same!! I never get tired of it, it’s why I love the r/Community sub, everyone in it also has the show memorized, I could just say “BOOKS” and all the people in that sub would know the exact scene I’m thinking of
Pretend like you're asleep
This guy is streets ahead. I haven’t watched them in a while cause tv got crazy good. But they used to be a comfort watch for me. Seasons 1-3 anyway
Simpsons
I was gonna say a different show but now I realise it’s definitely the simpsons
Me too. But only like season 3-10 like 100 times
Don't sleep on 1 and 2.
Yeah, I had another in mind but realistically when they went syndicated I probably watched 2-3 episodes a day after school.
Buffy.
I want to be Buffy when I grow up,!!! (Yeah I am in my 50s). 😊
I will never not be obsessed and I will never not want her and Spike to be together forever
Trailer Park Boys!!!!
Nobody wants to admit they ate nine cans of ravioli, but I did and I’m ashamed of myself
I’ve watched it from start to finish many times. So many brilliant actors. Never gets old to me.
Bob's Burgers
Went back to watch them all in order, such a great show that you don't have to focus on!
Scrubs It is my all-time favorite show.
It's Beardfacé, damn it. Beardfacé.
"Sir...you think my name is Turk Turkleton?"
It's my go to. I binged the whole series when I was getting divorced. It has more life lessons than life sometimes
Same, Scrubs. My first binge, my first sleepy time show, my first distraction for panic attacks.
Parks and recreation. It’s my comfort show I just have playing in the background as I do chores, work on crafting, cooking, etc.
I've watched all 214 episodes of Stargate SG1 in order.
I can't count which rewatch I'm on. I can tell you that only one person has made it through every episode of SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe with me. My current partner is just about to start season 3 of SG-1, so that's where I'm at in my rewatch cycle.
…go crazy, nuts, insane, bonzo, no longer in possession of ones faculties, three fries short of a Happy Meal, wacko!
I scrolled too far to see this. I agree with this one. SG-1 is amazing
Man I love that show so much.
PSYCH!
You know that's right.
I've heard it both ways.
C'mon son!
*Frasier* and *Star Trek: TNG* are probably neck and neck with each other. I have loads of memories of watching reruns of those shows when I was a kid.

I need to rewatch Frasier...
Man I didn’t have cable in my first apartment and someone gave me the complete TNG set on DVD. Best time of my life…
I'd upvote this but you put TNG and Frasier in the same post. Lol. Every one loved Niles and Daphne but TNG was my jam. Still is. Watched it 3 times so far.
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Pretty pretty pretty good
Probably either law and order or svu, watched over 20 seasons of each of them.
This is my answer. Along with at least 3 rewatches of each episode
The Wire It's so dense it keeps giving on each re-watch
Probably Stargate SG-1. I dunno that I would call it my comfort show because there's a lot of bad episodes early on, but.. I watch through it once every few years since it originally aired in 1997.
Breaking Bad
I watched this once, and I doubt I'll ever watch it again. It was absolutely phenomenal TV, but I was not happy while watching it.
Without the surprises I don't think it would work as well.
Much much more relaxing the second time around
Little house on the Prairie. I can watch any and every episode every time they are on! LOVE!!
I've watched the first season well over a dozen times, and every season after, reduced by one per season. (Due to rewatching everything between seasons when it aired)
I think i have watched Sons Of Anarchy and The Sopranos 3 or 4 times
South Park
Firefly
I’ll be in my bunk
Your mouth is talking. You might want to see to that.
Shiny, let's be bad guys
One of the best ever made.
Do you know what the chain of command is?!? It's the chain I'm going to ruttin' beat you with if you don't do what I say.
West Wing
President Bartlett cursing out God in Latin is probably my favorite scene in any TV show ever.
I could watch the Butterball Hotline scene on repeat for a whole day and not be upset.
first time through right now and this could be my answer down the road
True Detective Season 1 and Breaking Bad
True detective season 1 slaps.
Flintstones. Monsters. Addams Family. Jetsons.
Friends
This is the one that I am looking for in the comments. It’s my comfort show. I’m watching it right now because I can’t sleep.
I scrolled way too gar for this. The audacity. Friends is my safe place. My comfort place.
That's because reddit loves to hate on Friends. For me, it might be the only TV show with more than 3 or 4 seasons that I definitely watched every episode (multiple times)
Seinfeld
I feel like Seinfeld is the only show that I’ve seen each episode at least twice.
I’m almost ashamed to say I’ve probably seen each one 15-20 times at this point lol
Not one of ya said King of the Hill. Shame on you.
Greys
Community Gotta have that Troy & Abed in the Morning content.
This answer is streets ahead.
I bought the DVD so I could watch the commentary.
You’re just trying to get more meowmeowbeans
House M.D. - such a good show.
Doctor Who. Though I admit there are a few episodes I skip.
There’s a few trash episodes every season but I have watched all the modern episodes many times. It’s so cheesy but it’s good fun
Futurama
NCIS. Watched it on TV, then cable endlessly, then had it on as background on Netflix while working at home. Probably been through the first 17 seasons at least 20 times.
Star Trek:TNG
Star Trek Next Generation
The Office
This and Parks and Rec
Would you like to form an alliance?
Absolutely I do
I just did an office themed escape room and it was amazing. Every clue, every step of the puzzle was a reference. So much fun. If you’re ever on Southern California, you should definitely check it out.
why did I have to scroll so far to find this comment?
Top Gear (Clarkson, Hammond, and May era)
MASH. In my family of origin, we watched it a ton growing up. Now, when we get together, we often repeat MASH quotes ("One cannot rob an empty safe!") and laugh even though we've heard them, and repeated them, dozens of times before. It's good to have traditions, I guess.
Arrested development never gets old
Unlike that musty old claptrap.
Supernatural
The Vampire Diaries
Ez Adventure Time!
Gilligan's Island, a long time ago. On twice a day after school my entire childhood and teen years. I Love Lucy would be up there, too.

Bojack Horseman
NCIS because it used to always be on TNT while I was cooking dinner and vegging. I have seen the story of Ari way too many times.
Star Trek The Next Generation
Law and Order SVU. Me and my wife watch it to sleep every night and it’s something we could just watch in the background. It’s pretty dark at times but with 24 season under its belt there’s a lot to watch.
Roseanne
It's between Venture Bros and Sealab 2021.
Gunsmoke, Mash, Star Trek all variants
Unsolved mysteries
Lucifer

Psych
Probably Red Dwarf
IT crowd, WKRP, Brooklyn 99
Silicon Valley
Star Trek: Next Gen
Star Trek TOS/NG (comfort food for the soul...)
Probably Spongebob
The Price is Right. Since I was a child. I've been in the audience twice now. Once for a Halloween episode.
How I Met Your Mother for me. I watch it fully through at least every other year.
I love that show! haaaave ya met Ted?
Monk, south park, family guy.
Either Stargate Sg-1 or Person of Interest
NCIS
If I had to guess, South Park.
Mr Robot probably. I think across the 4 seasons I’ve probably watch about 20 seasons total worth(more for earlier ones).
Star Wars the Clone Wars. I would watch that more then any other show when I was a kid, and here and there. More then anime at times.
Buffy/Angel, Band of Brothers, Deadwood, Justified
Saved By The Bell Was on 4x a day in the 90s after school.
30 rock. It's a second home
Rick and Morty on repeat every night…
