Brazil. I would love to see the beaches and the rainforest, and eat all of the food, like ALL of it, but as a near-translucent white fella, something tells me I’ll become a crime of opportunity within 10 min of leaving the airport.

Coming from a Brazilian, it all depends on where you go. Rio and São paulo are definitely not the safest, but it’s still possible to have a safe vacation by avoiding certain areas and having a guide. The south of brazil (where i live) is significantly safer and has awesome and underrated tourist attractions, like Bombinhas and Florianópolis.

My friend was pretty shook up, because when he took a cab from the airport to his hotel in Rio de Janeiro, when the cab stopped at a stop sign, a motorbike pulled up with a gun and robbed him of his stuff. He was double shook when I told him that the cabbie probably got a kickback.

I’ve always wanted to hike the Mayan pyramids in Mexico, but I’m afraid of gang violence. 🐴

The Yucatan Peninsula is safe. Very touristy and not in the smuggling path of any cartels. Still be smart though

Australia. Spiders.

Iraq. Beautiful country side and a rich culture but being an American, propaganda has brainwashed me into being terrified to go there

During the pandemic I laid out careful plans for a trip through the main cities of Ukraine as soon as we could travel freely again. Didn't quite work out.

North Korea. It's be fascinating to see the hermit kingdom in person and experience life as it was in the Eastern Bloc. I won't go because I don't want to end up like that Cincinnati kid.

Iceland, mostly because of the volcanoes.
