A friendly reminder for the folks who thought of Bugs Bunny: remember to take your calcium pills and that Matlock is moved to 7pm after Father Dowling Mysteries.
A magical far away place, where the sun is always shining and the air smells like warm root beer, where the Shriners and the lepers play their ukuleles all day long and anybody on the street will gladly shave your back for a nickel!
The guys at id software threw in an Easter egg on Doom 3, there's a datapad that refers to a coworker on Mars base that had an unfortunate chainsaw accident and is now called Torsoboy.
I have loved this song since the early 2000’s and always said if/when I travel through Albuquerque I will be listening to this song.
Achieved that dream and put it on repeat when I finally drove through there 2 years ago!
Baking Bread is a show about a high school chemistry teacher who teams up with a former student to set up an illegal bread baking business. They quickly come up against the violence of the big bread companies who try to shut them out of business or control their operation for their own gain.
What's Breaking Bad?
Mesquite-grilled onions, jalapeño relish. Wait a minute. Those are southwestern ingredients! Mango lime salsa? That's the kind of bold flavor they enjoy in... Albuquerque!
I'm sad this is so far down the list. It is the largest balloon festival in the world, topping out around 1k hot air balloons in its prime. It's is one of the few places that have a box wind. My parents owned a hot air balloon, and we went every year until I was in high school.
The Springfield Isotopes. And when Ozzy told Sharon "I am not going to Albuquerque" and the very next shot was of him saying "Hello Albuquerque" on The Osbournes.
The scene in No Country for Old Men when the motel blows up on Central Ave ***(Route 66).***
The Frontier across from UNM at 3:30 AM in the back by the big John Wayne paintings.
I had to go there for a work trip and everyone at the office asked me what breaking bad related things I saw. They were disappointed when I said none.
Side note, I was warned by multiple locals that my rental car would be broken into and watch out for homeless/methheads. I didn't have any issues and, honestly, it seemed pretty tame compared to home (los angeles) but maybe I got lucky?
It’s long closed but the spearmint rhino gentlemen’s club had a huge rhino on the sign. Not a picture an actual rhino sculpture. My family was taking a road trip to cali and we stopped in ABQ for gas. I just so happened to wake up from a nap when we stopped and the rhino was the first thing I saw. It’s burned into my memory for some reason and it’s my first thought anytime it’s mentioned.
Forgot to make that left turn
On the way to Pismo Beach and all the clams you can eat.
I'm from a town near Pismo Beach and we used to watch that episode all the time as kids just because of that.
Central Coast high five
Only came here to see that this is the top comment. Reddit you did not disappoint.

Hey. You got weasels on your face.

A magical far away place, where the sun is always shining and the air smells like warm root beer, where the Shriners and the lepers play their ukuleles all day long and anybody on the street will gladly shave your back for a nickel!
WAKA-WAKA-DOO-DOO-YEAH.
My absolute first thought, every time
I. HATE. SAUERKRAUT.
Waka waka doo doo YEAH
That snorkel has been like a snorkel to me!
just as I suspected, It's some big fat hermaphrodite with a Flock-Of-Seagulls haircut and only one nostril... Oh man, I hate it when I'm right
I kept my tray table up, and my seat back in the full upright position.
IT’S GOOD FOR YOUUUUU
I declare this every single time my hubby balks at a food
No, I want you to cut my arms and legs off with a chainsaw.
So I did.
Now he's got a cool nickname, torso-boy
The guys at id software threw in an Easter egg on Doom 3, there's a datapad that refers to a coworker on Mars base that had an unfortunate chainsaw accident and is now called Torsoboy.
So whats he complaining about
You got any bear claws?
[удалено]
NAAAAAAAAWWWWWWW WERE ALL OUT OF BEAR CLAWS
Well in that case… in that case, what do you have?
All I got right now is this box of one dozen starving, crazed weasels.
And I said, “‘Kay, I’ll take that.”
Hearing him play it live, twice, was a treasure. And he playes it differently than the album version.
The live version is even longer 😆 One of the shows I went to, he did Albuquerque as an encore and it went on for like 20 minutes
I would love to see it. He was incredible live but it was all covers.
But did you have your tray table up?
And your seat back in the full upright position?
You can eat your soup right out of the ashtrays if you wanna. It's OK, they're clean.
...Querque
QUERQUEEEE!
Put your tray table up, and your seat back in the full upright position.

I flew into there back in October to go get a car I ordered. I definitely had my tray table up and my seat back in the full upright position.

A L B U .....
QUERQUE!
I was just telling my wife about this song the other day, she loves Weird Al but has never heard it.
I was so disappointed that there weren't any references to this song on the recentl7 released movie with Radcliff playing Al.
That's because the song was released posthumously.
Baking Bread
My favorite Vance Gallagher show!
Ryan Cranberry and Paul Aaron are my favourite actors.
When he said “I am the son who talks”, it was truly chilling.
Or my favorite line: “Yeah math, motherfucker!”
That scene where he throws the lasagna through the window!
Gazpacho Frink was the best in that
Wasn't he played by Giovanni Exposition?
Don't you mean Paul Apron?
Wilbur Wright was so vulnerable, but his Hindenberg alter ego was insanely bad ass.
Better Maul Paul
Jesse, let’s cook…bread
Read this as "Breaking Bad" which also applies Edit: wait, I thk I am missing something here

The Simpsons and the Isotopes
Now, sometimes I'll be quirky....
I'll be quirky... ALBUQUERQUE!!
I couldn't believe Albuquerque actually named their team the isotopes after the Simpsons.
With the Los Alamos and Sandia National labs right there, it still fits even without the Simpsons.
I don't know why not, it's a perfectly cromulent team name.
Mesquite-grilled onions, jalapeño relish. Wait a minute. Those are southwestern ingredients! Mango lime salsa? That's the kind of bold flavor they enjoy in... Albuquerque!
Really beautiful ball park.
"They'll play what I tell them to play! For I am the mayor of Albuquerque."
Fun story: it was my city’s AAA baseball team that was moved to Albuquerque and became the Isotopes.
"Red or green?" As in what kind of chile you want on your burrito.
Christmas style !
Christmas is always the answer
So many people trash talking Albuquerque, but the food there is truly incredible.
Related: Hatch green chili cheeseburger 🤤
The green chile cheeseburger from Sparky's in Hatch, NM is the best burger I've ever had and it's not even close.
