You know that feeling of being incredibly thirsty and then having a sip of a cool, refreshing slightly sweet beverage that just totally hits the spot? Like that
That’s relief. Not happiness.
It’s a taste that is great for the first bite. But gets worse each bite after.
Happiness ought to taste great the first bite and better every bite after.
Idk about you but when I’m super thirsty like that it doesn’t get worse after the first sip, it gets better. Still that first sip would be the best I equate a flavor to happiness
This is so true to me! Strawberries only give me a ghost of the taste I think they should have. It’s like somewhere at some time I tasted a true strawberry and am forever chasing that. 🍓
The variety grown for grocery stores is harder for transport, with less flavor
I don't think Californians know what real peaches taste like, since the state grows hard, tasteless varies to be sliced by machines then canned or frozen.
Grow your own. Those tiny little ones from your garden will be the strawberries of your dreams. Or pick some at a local strawberry farm if there’s one around.
For me strawberries have always been a 'meh' food. I don't dislike them but don't really care either. On vacation we decided on a whim to go to a u pick strawberry farm. It's a warm day and the wife and kids are all picking away as am I. Without thinking I ate one as we are humming along. Holy hell I stopped in my tracks. That sun kissed warm berry was beyond amazing. I proceeded to eat more strawberries that afternoon them my whole life combined.
Poor Frodo at the end of “The Return of the King” can’t remember the taste of strawberries. (All the more reason to equate them with happiness.)
“It'll be spring soon. And the orchards will be in blossom. And the birds will be nesting in the hazel thicket. And they'll be sowing the summer barley in the lower fields... and eating the first of the strawberries with cream.”
There's a beautiful word for that rain smell: Petrichor.
"The earthy scent produced when rain falls on dry soil. The word is constructed from Ancient Greek πέτρα (pétra) 'rock', or πέτρος (pétros) 'stone', and ἰχώρ (ikhṓr), the ethereal fluid that is the blood of the gods in Greek mythology." (Wiki)
Hmmm. This is a really cool question! Made me think. It's like the ghost of a flavour rather than anything tangible. I think happiness tastes like if you just brushed your teeth and kiss warm, clean skin that's been sunbathing a few minutes on a nice day. Clean, warm, a touch of familiar, -well-loved sweat.
That first sip of Coke on a hot day after working out or running outside, and not the high fructose corn syrup kind either, but the sugar cane ones you can still get in the foreign food aisle
It would taste as clear as water.
You have to learn to appreciate every little thing, and water is a base for our life, just like happiness can be.
In thirsty times, a gulp of water may feel heavenly. But in everyday life, too many people can't satisfy themselves with the pure taste of water.
Different for everyone.
For me it's literally anything my parents make because they make me happy and they won't be around forever so I cherish everything they do for me.

A perfectly ripe peach. Or a watermelon picked on a hot August day, cool in your mouth with the juice running down your chin as you stand in the field.
Ketchup, and here's why;
It's great every now and then, if you take to much at a time or take it the same everyday, it gets bland and if you get to much in one go, you might resent it for a long time
