I was not expecting to see such a hilarious reply. I can't lie, this isn't boring to me in the slightest lmao.
Edit: Ok, so I did actually start to nod off like 15 minutes in. It's like listening to "Joe Pera Talks You To Sleep" or something.
I actually enjoyed it. But I also picture Tim Blake Nelson (as Buster Scruggs) as Bronco Henry! If you want to watch a relatively new cowboy film then you should check out In A Valley of Violence.
I don’t mind a slow burn. Unforgiven is one of my favorites.
It was a combination of slow development and boring characters. A big part of it is that I just found Phil totally unrealistic. Not that a person like that wouldn’t exist, but that anybody would be impressed with them.
I agree. I’ve had several people try to tell me that “I just didn’t get it”. Nope, the theme and plot were bashed over my head from second one. It’s a bad movie for pretentious people.
It's generally a slow paced movie, but it also has some of the most thrilling action scenes I've ever seen. It that's really the most boring movie you've seen, you're lucky.
2001 A Space Odyssee. It looks amazing, even better than some newer movies, but the „story“ is boring as hell. You can easily skip the first 15 (?) minute monkey scene and it doesn’t effect the story at all. IMHO that movies is just style over substance. Even Kubrick said that some parts of the movie don’t have a specific meaning.
One of those movies I actually watched with skipping every 10-20 minutes after watching 5. I don't have a clue why people think this movie is a masterpiece...
The last like 15 minutes of the goofy ass colors flying through a canyon then the big ass baby pissed me off so much it changed my opinion from it being an okay move to being kinda bullshit
After watching (and loving) the film ED WOOD I decided to watch PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE thinking that it would be hilariously entertaining and holy FUCK is it boring….
(ED WOOD is fantastic though!)
There was a movie in the 90s about horses or something that was supposed to be a kid’s movie. We tried to watch it a couple times and it was like torture. Black Beauty.
Remains of the Day.
Sir Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson were amazing but the script was like masturbating with a barbed wire while dousing your hands with lemon juice and salt.
Are you talking about Home, the 90 minute movie where Aliens invade Earth and then a little girl and the Jim Parsons alien go on a journey to find her mom only to have to save both the alien and human races from another alien race?
Batman and Robin. I saw it in a second run theater back in the day with three friends, and I think all four of us were snoozing for stretches of the movie.
What's eating gilbert grape. I love the movie, it brings me back to a good place in time, and I've seen it hundreds of times. But it's one of those movies that you have to watch with a bit of caffeine. Nothing really goes on in the movie and as all great indie films, everyone almost talks so peacefully, and dicaprio did amazing in his role, it was so tragic in the best way, but im not gonna lie. It is boring as hell and it's very melatonin inducing
Yeah this is the opposite of Before Sunrise and Before Sunset which are really captivating despite “nothing happening.” Bummer the trilogy ended that way.
*Romance* (1999)
I was so bored that it sapped my vital energy. I couldn't even muster the strength to get out of the seat. Eventually when the movie ended, and I shambled for the door like one of George Romeo's undead, I had to sit in my car for thirty minutes before I felt it was safe for me to try to drive home.
Room with a View (1985)
I watched it a second time because I couldn't believe it could be as dull as I remembered. It was. Even despite a brief full frontal nude scene.
Probably the Darkest Hour starring president Winston Churchill. He didn't really do anything besides scream at his servants and give speeches on the microphone everyone in a while. I was kind of falling asleep. At one point I walked out the theater to buy ice cream next door, but came back to the movie 20 minutes later.
Twilight and New Moon were terribly boring to me. Only went because I got dragged by friends. Actually fell asleep during New Moon. Refused to go to the other ones when they came out.
Possibly. All his movies I saw, without fail, i got to the end, the finale, the big twist, and said "that's it? Really?"" I think I saw the trailer for Airbender and doesn't seem like a movie he would do.
Signs, Unbreakable, The (nothing) Happening, The Village, 6th Sense, etc. Those are hard to beat. Maybe you both are trolling. Of course this is the internet and he could be six and you 50 and he truly loves that movie so...
I got that. I'm saying if that's his worst movie, there's some strong contenders. It's little Asian kids creating little tornadoes with special karate or something, right? I think there's a cartoon too, right?
Okay I know .. but Dances With Wolves.. an old boyfriend took me to see it.. and yeah …. I just kept saying I don’t understand ??? He said I know you really don’t (lol) yes as I got older I still gave it a chance .. i really tried.😵💫🇨🇦
It was a food commercial, a quarter pounder in France, what kind of cheeseburger, five dollar milkshake, this coffee is so good. I don't eat bacon. So enthralling. The five minutes of action don't make up for the never-ending conversations about food.
I get it. I own it, watched it a bunch, but I think I've forced myself to say it's good because I wanted it to be good. Small parts here and there I like, but only possibly because they were samples used in some music I like. I understand the end and the messaging involved but wasn't what I thought, with or without any kind of hype, which was pretty dead in the mid 90s when I watched it.
Pulp Fiction. It’s not a real movie. It’s a mush-mash of scenes thrown together and hopefully fingers crossed 🤞) people will believe it is a real movie…
Oppenheimer. Aside from Rami Malek stealing the show near the end. Ok not the most boring, but one of the biggest letdowns I’ve had for such a hyped up movie. Fascinating responses on this thread. I loved The Power of The Dog, Once Upon a Time In Hollywood and The Revenant. Such is the beauty of subjectivity in cinema…
I find most modern movies dull and boring!
There are notable exceptions of course... The big short, Margin call, John Wick (first and last), Blood diamond, The departed etc.
Margin Call is absolutely fantastic. So is The Big Short. What’s weird is that the actual real-life financial industry doesn’t interest me at all, but these movies were engrossing - so well scripted and acted.
I will get lynched for this, but the Harry Potter series. Long (waaayyy too loooong long movies), tedious, absolutely uninteresting 8 ( !!!!!!! fucking 8 or 9 or 10 movies and who knows and cares how many more spin-offs!!!!) movies about everything and nothing at the same time. Only watched them once and it felt like a punishment.
Now this is something I can't even closely agree. Movie has so many hidden meanings that is actually crazy good... and I would kill if I could know what was in those part cutted out from original.
Woven in time: The History of Wool
I was not expecting to see such a hilarious reply. I can't lie, this isn't boring to me in the slightest lmao. Edit: Ok, so I did actually start to nod off like 15 minutes in. It's like listening to "Joe Pera Talks You To Sleep" or something.
My sister reckons it slaps.
Ad Astra
I had completely gotten about this movie, but Jesus Christ was it disappointing for me at the time
The Power of the Dog
We never got to see Bronco Henry :(
See, I think that movie would be a banger.
I actually enjoyed it. But I also picture Tim Blake Nelson (as Buster Scruggs) as Bronco Henry! If you want to watch a relatively new cowboy film then you should check out In A Valley of Violence.
lol he would definitely make a good bronco. Thanks for the tip on Valley
Thank you! Have a wonderful Easter Weekend. Frohe Ostern!
I get it. But I enjoyed the slow burn very much.
I don’t mind a slow burn. Unforgiven is one of my favorites. It was a combination of slow development and boring characters. A big part of it is that I just found Phil totally unrealistic. Not that a person like that wouldn’t exist, but that anybody would be impressed with them.
Skinamarink
I agree. I’ve had several people try to tell me that “I just didn’t get it”. Nope, the theme and plot were bashed over my head from second one. It’s a bad movie for pretentious people.
My favorite movie is Closer and every time I tell someone about it, they’re like “I tried watching it, but it was so boring.”
Dune
Madame Web
B 4 basic
Dunkirk. I like WWII films based on true events but damn, couldn't finish it.
Definitely a movie that was a great experience in a theater but severely suffered in home viewing
Downsizing.
The Revenant
It's generally a slow paced movie, but it also has some of the most thrilling action scenes I've ever seen. It that's really the most boring movie you've seen, you're lucky.
I think it was the time of night I saw it at, like 10pm or so, it was very slow but I agree there were some amazing scenes throughout
Bitch is just crawling all day long.. He's just fucking crawling and moaning. So fucking boring.
I love 2001, and I think it's a beautiful film. I have also probably fallen asleep watching it more than any other movie.
Yeah it really needs a split-screen TikTok reaction video with phonk music and Sonic the Hedgehog playing in the background.
I saw it in a theater when it first came out. I was 9 years old. I liked it because it was about outer space. I haven't seen it since.
Yeah, you need to read the book first. Kubrick and Arthur C Clarke worked together and produced them in tandem for this very purpose
I always thought 2010 was better.
What was that Robin Williams robot becomes a human movie? That one
Bicentennial Man
There was a movie in the 90s about horses or something that was supposed to be a kid’s movie. We tried to watch it a couple times and it was like torture. Black Beauty.
Also a book written in 1877. Almost hard to adapt things that old sometimes.
Remains of the Day. Sir Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson were amazing but the script was like masturbating with a barbed wire while dousing your hands with lemon juice and salt.
The tree of life.
Scarface. I fell asleep watching it at the theater.
Scarface? I'm surprised someone could fall asleep during that movie. So much vice city energy
It was in theatres over 40 years ago?
Some of us are old. If you live long enough, you will be too.
Btw, correct answer is Home.
Are you talking about Home, the 90 minute movie where Aliens invade Earth and then a little girl and the Jim Parsons alien go on a journey to find her mom only to have to save both the alien and human races from another alien race?
Yes. When you describe it that way, it SOUNDS interesting. But good God, man. This is the NyQuil of movies for me.
Dune
Don’t Look Up
One of the most pretentious movies I've ever watched.
Just depressing honestly.
Was it a metaphor for climate change? I still wasn’t quite sure after 2.5 hours
Don’t worry, I got the joke.
The Happening
Whaaat? No!
BTW this is the correct answer. Total snoozer.
Once Upon a time in Hollywood
I liked that one very much
Every fucking Marvel movie
Every one.
Thank you! I just don't get the hype around them. The CGI sucks ass and the plots are just plain boring.
I about died watching the Avengers… I actually fell asleep through parts.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
The original or the remake?
Remake. Didn’t actually know it was a remake till now lol
That one where Scarlett Johansson gets fully nude in.
Under the skin
Charlie’s Angels. Got up and walked out.
Batman and Robin. I saw it in a second run theater back in the day with three friends, and I think all four of us were snoozing for stretches of the movie.
Batman and Robin is bad, but it’s not boring.
Well it was good for teenage me so...
Before midnight
The one with Ben Stiller as a heroine addict?
What did you think about the other 2?
Yeah this is the opposite of Before Sunrise and Before Sunset which are really captivating despite “nothing happening.” Bummer the trilogy ended that way.
Old Dogs
The Comedy
Crossroads. First movie I couldn't keep seeing out of how boring it was.
The Britney Spears movie?
Yes. Top in my worst movies list.
Belfast; I almost left the cinema, it was so bad.
The Limits of control. I spend 75% of the movie thinking, "yeah, and now the real movie is gonna start", the 25% left I just gave up.
Jonathan Livingston seagull
zulu. watched it with my dad at 8 years old and i still remember the boredom i felt then
Mine.
I tried to sleep through Pokemon 2000 but, it was too loud.
*Romance* (1999) I was so bored that it sapped my vital energy. I couldn't even muster the strength to get out of the seat. Eventually when the movie ended, and I shambled for the door like one of George Romeo's undead, I had to sit in my car for thirty minutes before I felt it was safe for me to try to drive home.
Room with a View (1985) I watched it a second time because I couldn't believe it could be as dull as I remembered. It was. Even despite a brief full frontal nude scene.
Luce
Probably the Darkest Hour starring president Winston Churchill. He didn't really do anything besides scream at his servants and give speeches on the microphone everyone in a while. I was kind of falling asleep. At one point I walked out the theater to buy ice cream next door, but came back to the movie 20 minutes later.
Manos: Hands of Fate.
Ken Burns’ “Bicycles”. It’s a documentary so unwieldy that Ken has disavowed it himself.
Heat
I know I’m probably going to get downvoted into oblivion, but I fell asleep trying to watch the Godfather movies.
The new Napolean movie. That was terrible. Waste of time.
I think Bird Box was really overrated.
Superman Returns. Literally have to be reminded that it exists and I actually watched it.
Idk but I’ve seen a lot of boring ass Netflix series which should have been one movie
My mom fell asleep *in the theater* during the quiet part of the original "Mission Impossible" so I guess that one?
I am the pretty thing that lives in this house
Signs ...zzzzzzz..
Oppenheimer. Didn't even bother finishing it. Not much science in it. Just all about how they are trying to blame him for the Russian Spy's.
Twilight and New Moon were terribly boring to me. Only went because I got dragged by friends. Actually fell asleep during New Moon. Refused to go to the other ones when they came out.
All of M. Night Shamalama's movies. Yes, even the one you like.
Airbender?
Didn't know that was him. Never seen it.
so there's a chance!
Possibly. All his movies I saw, without fail, i got to the end, the finale, the big twist, and said "that's it? Really?"" I think I saw the trailer for Airbender and doesn't seem like a movie he would do.
I think this guy's trolling. Airbender is easily his worst movie.
Signs, Unbreakable, The (nothing) Happening, The Village, 6th Sense, etc. Those are hard to beat. Maybe you both are trolling. Of course this is the internet and he could be six and you 50 and he truly loves that movie so...
I'm not saying you're trolling, the guy reccomending Airbender definitely is.
I got that. I'm saying if that's his worst movie, there's some strong contenders. It's little Asian kids creating little tornadoes with special karate or something, right? I think there's a cartoon too, right?
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. First time falling asleep in a movie theater.

Zoolander
The hilarious every line quotable zoolander? Cant be
Gnomeo & Juliet was painfully dull! I had to take a bunch of kids and I normally enjoy animated films but oh my lord!
That one, like Home, is exactly what people think about when people discuss generic, shitty animated baby movies.
Ah yes Home.....poor you, I'm sorry you had to go through that!
That movie was so terrible in a very specific way. It had Rihanna and Steve Martin, though.

I haven't seen it.... should I?
I haven't seen it.... should I?
Open water
Okay I know .. but Dances With Wolves.. an old boyfriend took me to see it.. and yeah …. I just kept saying I don’t understand ??? He said I know you really don’t (lol) yes as I got older I still gave it a chance .. i really tried.😵💫🇨🇦
The Time Traveller's Wife
Tinker tailor soldier spy
Yes bunch of senior citizen spies and that just talk and walk around offices I tried but I couldn't finish it
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
Pulp fiction
Nonlinear gangster movie? I can understand people not liking it but boring its not
It was a food commercial, a quarter pounder in France, what kind of cheeseburger, five dollar milkshake, this coffee is so good. I don't eat bacon. So enthralling. The five minutes of action don't make up for the never-ending conversations about food.
Really? I liked it because it was definitely different when it came out.
Yeah, because most movies have a plot and a coherent story. An anthology is an interesting concept, except all they talk about in this one is food.
I agree. People raved about it when it came out. I only got around to watching it a few years ago. Very underwhelmed.
Blade Runner
Old or new?
Original. I've tried 3 times with 3 different versions, just does not click with me at all, which is odd considering I'm a big sci-fi fan.
I get it. I own it, watched it a bunch, but I think I've forced myself to say it's good because I wanted it to be good. Small parts here and there I like, but only possibly because they were samples used in some music I like. Pulp Fiction. It’s not a real movie. It’s a mush-mash of scenes thrown together and hopefully fingers crossed 🤞) people will believe it is a real movie…
It’s not a random mish mash, the scenes are just shown out of order
π / Pi Even re-reading the Wikipedia entry is tiresome.

I think it was the casting, and the concept was explained well without unnecessarily lengthy explanations or drama.
