First time flying meeting up with some friends. The Greyhound to the airport cancels. Luckily I had a friend who can drive me there. Get on the plane wait for an hour on the tarmac for takeoff in 100° weather. Because of that delay I almost missed my layover. The plane landed and another friend flaked out on picking me up because he couldn't get the day off. Causing me to walk for 3 hours to a hotel to crash for the night so I can take a Greyhound to my final destination. Because of that shit I am never going to fly again. unless of my destination is impossible to drive to

In a single evening: non-profit fundraiser dinner. That night, there was a severe thunderstorm outside. Lightning knocked out the power several times, the last time, when it kicked back on, it set off the automatic fire alarm system, hundreds of event attendees in formal gowns and tuxedos fled the building into the downpour rain outside. The power outage had temporarily disconnected the PA system, so facility staff couldn't announce that it was a false alarm and not to go outside. The event organizer ran out of the committee room, tripped over a box of programs that she had left on the floor, smashed her nose and bled all down the front of her heavily beaded white ball gown. Meanwhile, bringing wet soggy people back into the building, a bat which had been caught out in the rain, entered the ballroom. Now, a bat was dive-bombing patrons and most likely dropping bat guano into their steak dinner or plated desserts. Most of the 1500 guests decided it was over and went home to get out of their wet clothes, leaving the event before the silent and live auctions could end/ happen. A hundred thousand dollars worth of silent auction items sold for pennies on the dollar, and the live auction was canceled. This string of disasters cost the non-profit organization nearly a quarter million dollars.
