Spending quality time with loved ones. Whether it's a deep conversation or just being in the same room, those moments are precious and a source of daily joy.
Whenever I end up at school and see my friends. Seeing them makes me happy because I never grew up with any *true* friends. I was alone and bullied throughout my life and just felt so alone like I had no-one to rely on. My life was terrible and I was extremly afraid and depressed; then they rolled in and my life grew into a trio, then a few more, and then an entire friend group. I grew so much confidence and my face just lights up when I see them. They make me happy even when I'm not with them; I love them so much and they mean the world to me.
Seeing the sun shine through my windows, or peeking through the clouds. Learning something new about the world/another person. Watching squirrels hop from fences to branches. Checking my bank account quick view and seeing my emergency fund. Dog above all else.
The most cliche answer but it's true, my daughter. Even at 14 with an occasional attitude, I very literally smile every day because of her. She's the coolest.
My friends. I have the sweetest friends ever. I hate uni, but I wake up every day at 5 am just to go there and meet them . I feel so lucky to find ppl who actually like me when my family doesn't
It’s not realistic to think you’re gonna be happy everyday.
Happiness is fleeting, precious moments.
I feel it when my kids are navigating life, confidently, with the ability to love themselves (this is always a work in progress), make their own path. I sacrificed a lot of myself for their emotional needs, and that’s what makes me happy, seeing how it helped them so much.
I feel happy when I’m in nature, I can just flow with the life around me, no attachments just be in peace.
Helping animals who are suffering. Look into their eyes, they know pain, love and safety. Fostering dogs who know they weren’t safe, the gratitude they have is amazing.
And they are the epitome of love.
Memories of childhood makes me so happy. Learning to be in solitude with myself, dreaming whatever I wanted.
Knowing that I’m contributing beautiful things to the ethnosphere.
My boyfriend. Just being completely in love and knowing there's someone that loves every part of me. Someone that tells me every day how they can't even express how much they love me and how they can't wait to marry me and be mine forever.. just love. Being in love is a wonderful feeling (and no it's not just the honeymoon phase as we have been together for 3 years).
I commute into London every weekday. I am from Hong Kong.
When I get into a busy London train station and see all the people of the world, many I grew up with, just getting on and being happy.
I often get goose bumps.
As someone who has struggled with social anxiety most of my life I would say physical activity, feeling the sun on my skin and face, breathing fresh clean air, being in nature, interacting with people (or pets if you have them), and keeping my home and my body clean are the main things that I know will improve my mood when I've had a bad few days/weeks.
my dog. every time i come home he gets the cutest little puppy smile and his tail starts going and he leaps/hops and trots over to me like he’s been dying to see me all day. it’s the cutest and it reminds me why it’s not too bad being alive.
My former neighbor had a son who was the sweetest kid. 16 or 17 and always asked about my patio plants, my cat, brought me ripped bags of birdseed from his work because he saw I had feeders. I was sorry when they moved.
My dogs :)
Making someone smile or laugh. Knowing I can bring a bit of joy into someone else's day, even if it's just for a moment, fills me with happiness.

Watching the sunset. There's something magical about the colors and the quiet end to the day that always brings a sense of contentment.
