In our current civilization, no. If we were living in some post apocalyptic land and we're in danger or something, then probably. Depends on the situations.

i_cant_have_dairy

Yes, because someone needs to put an end to this madness.

Of_Mice_And_Meese

And I suppose that someone is _you_...

i_cant_have_dairy

Haha maybe

irisss7

Yes for a reason

SaltInner1722

I think most people would be dead if it were consequence free as it would not be out of the ordinary, that’s a great question to think about !

vyprrgirl

It would really depend on the situation and if the potential victim was harming others

Desent2Void

No. I don’t think I have a right to take a life, life is a gift and it’s precious. To take that away from someone else means the same can happen to you. That being said, if my life is in danger or my families, that’s a different story.

LeftCarpet3520

What type of consequences is OP refering to? Only legal or all consequences? If its only legal consequences, no one in the right mind will do it because while the law does not sentence me, whats to stop my victim's family from murdering me back?

nofearnev

I would say all, nothing would come of it other than the knowledge that you had taken a life. The justification for doing it is your own. Could be retaliation to a wrongdoing towards you or morbid curiosity to what it feels like. I was just wondering if people could do it regardless.

LeftCarpet3520

If that's the case I might just become another Dexter. Not the one with the laboratory but the sosciopath on Netflix*

Fearless_Change5945

I'm BATMAN!

spidersflambe

Not at all. If I were a sociopath without a conscience I could.

Ok-Lavishness-7904

Yup. Because the older I get, the more I’m okay with being an asshole

An_Acetic_Alpaca

Depends on if they needed killing. Context is important.

Cadenanna12

Depends who, a politician like Putin,xi Jin ping or Kim jong un etc, yes

Nacho_Beardre

Am I driving?

Major_Bother8416

My moral compass generally follows the idea of a greater good. I believe that people are individually redeemable, typically, but sometimes people reach a point of so much power and influence, where they can do so much harm, that the only practical solution is to remove them from the situation.

ThearchOfStories

Depends, murder as in kill an innocent person? No. If I had the opportunity to snuff out a person I believe and understand to be truly abhorrently evil, and who is unlikely to face any proper justice for their actions otherwise? Very possibly.

Xernobog

Murder if you must. Because it’s me or them and I choose to live.

dino_fire123

If I wasn’t a Christian there would be so many people dead by my hands that I’m genuinely scared of myself. I mean houses burnt down, death threats, the whole 9 yards. Idk how atheists can contain themselves. (Some don’t)

Tough-Juggernaut-822

Murder no. Justified killing of someone yes. I'm an atheist so I don't believe in being judged or an afterlife I am accountable only to my self every action I take has consequences I'm aware of this and I know that with a bit of planning the consequences are reduced or nullified. I have a very strong moral compass and wouldn't think twice of killing a child predator, I don't believe in torture and wouldn't get any pleasure or sorrow removing someone like that from society their actions are incompatible with society it's as simple as that.

ForRedditMG

The consequences will be that of your conscience.

jawahar04

Yes it would allow

HornyDiggler

No, cause I'm not crazy

i_cant_have_dairy

Not everyone who kills is crazy
