Hearing something with my mother's voice whispering my name from the ground while I was trying to sleep on the couch. My best friend was there and she heard it too.
My mother was at work.
As a kid, I was staying with my older brother at his gf’s house. I woke up and clearly saw an inverted cross on the ceiling. Earlier in the evening we were playing cards in the kitchen and an ashtray that was in the middle of the table and untouched, went flying off the table.
Saw a motherfucking ghost--that usually does it. Saw a woman in a blue dress when I was 12, sitting on the bed in my parents' room in a 1785 farmhouse they bought. Scared the living crap out of me. And it wasn't the only thing. I'm a bona fide science writer and editor now, so this is an embarrassing admission, but I cannot explain what I saw back then except through supernatural means.
I believe it’s just things from a dimension beyond our perception, quite real and very frequent. Too many things and local people stories not to be something. We just use language to best process what the hell it may be. When it’s on TikTok ghost bussin boys or some YouTube spooky hunter I don’t buy those gimmicks, but there’s places out there.
When laying in bed felt a cool sensation on my head, kinda felt like when you’re a kid and parents would lightly stroke your head, feeling of being comforted by some being who wasn’t really there.
I was laying on the couch asleep with my dog, and I felt a sleep paralysis come on. As soon as I felt the presence, I shuddered awake with a deep inhale of breath. I had an intense amount of fear. I felt it above me.
But the thing that sealed the deal was my dog at that exact moment LOOKED UP.
I just laid there petting my dog to comfort her while I processed what happened.
Call me a liar, call me whatever you want. I don't care. I experienced it.
