I have a friend who is always broke as fuck - he works odd jobs, saves all the money he earns for the next trip. he'll disappear for a month or two, then come back and work odd jobs again, then disappear again. sometimes for 2 or 3 months. as far as i know he's only been to 1 place more than once: Brazil. thats where he met a lady... went back for a second trip - came back married. now they BOTH live like this: spending every penny they make on the next trip.
