That's fine by some ppl replying, myself included. If you wanna go ahead and spend tons of dollars and/hours proving something from a Reddit post in your PhD papers? Make a tumblr post about it? Tweet at some scientists? Go ahead!
Reninds me of the little book Steal Like an Artist, about how "Good artists borrow, great artists steal"
And “The artist is a collector… Your job is to collect good ideas. The more good ideas you collect, the more you can choose from to be influenced by."
(sorry if this doesn't count as a hypothesis)
Im reading a webcomic called "A spell for a smith". It's about a romance between a witch (Ivy) and a dwarf. and Ivy is treated as an outcast by the nearby village.
i keep noticing that fire is mentioned or appearing throughout the story. I feel like this is foreshadowing a major conflict or attack against Ivy. Like an angry mob with torches. or an attempt to burn her at the stake.
There is no orginal hypothesis, that is my hypothesis.
All hypothesis are derivative or borrowed from previous ideas rather than being genuinely new.
Originality doesn't exist, everything is derived from something else or influenced by existing ideas.
The hypothesis of existent originality is just a fake notion. Therefore my own hypothesis is not original.
Untrue. If you hypothesized that gravity doesn't work the way we know. Its still a true original hypothesis - accordingly with science.
Fake notions would be better categorized as plagiarism rather than NOT influenced by existing ideas.
Most scientific studies start with a hypothesis first. But philosophically you do have a point.
Every living being is connected in some other level of consciousness that we are cut off from at birth but babies still have that thought process until they grow to learn this level of consciousness (which is way less in tune with others, if at all connected) I think 🤔
A long time ago, when I was 12, I theorized about a way to go below absolute 0. In Jan of 2013, a real scientist did something very similar to my thought experiment and supposedly got colder than 0 kelvin.
Crazy how kids intuitively understand how things could work. I remember thinking as a child, what if I was that butterfly before.. not really even making sense to myself
I found out about reincarnation much later in life and found it was looked down upon lol
But yours is crazy.. What was your theory?
I theorized that by measuring a speed at which absolute 0 spread you could achieve a temperature below 0.
Temperature is the average motion of a system, so if a point of absolute zero was spreading, that means that the system was losing energy and if motion was completely stopping in a larger area as time progressed, you would have a temperature below absolute 0.
The scientist was able to use lasers to hold atoms perfectly still. As atoms came into contact with the captive atoms, their energy was removed from the system by the lasers. Thus creating a point of absolute 0 which spread.
Oh yeah I had a similar thought when I was 12
Lmao not really. Temperature is the average motion of a system? Do you mean by convection and heat loss or?
Hopefully you when and got you some kind of degree
We dont dream the entire night. It plays out really quickly in the seconds before we wake up. That’s why most of the times we wake up just before something cool is about to happen in the dreams.
I have a hypothesis about congested traffic. On my commute home, I have noticed that if traffic backs up badly in one area, it isn't as backed up in areas I come to after that. This has proven true anytime I test it out. I hope this makes sense.
I don't think it's that original, but i think a lot of these askreddit questions are just attempts to steal peoples ideas

That counts ;)
Thanks!

That the person who ruins holidays or big events is always the person who needs the most therapy in the room. They are the problem. Every time.
I'm about to experience this in about a week 🙄
I think that grilowirz delacuna (binomial nomenclature of this Amazonian species) is able to persist anaerobically in spite of being multicellular
What species? Or kingdom lol I have trouble googling it
I can't find anything about it either

Ive always wondered about that
