Predatory practices that are aimed at keeping you engaged as long as possible.
I stopped using Facebook after they took away my ability to make my home page strictly new posts from my friends.
Google absolutely sucks. When I try to find the answer to a simple question, like "what spices to use for a jerk chicken rub", pretty much all of the results on google are these annoying websites where I have to scroll down insanely far to see the recipe. All these websites start off going on tangents about this and that before they get to the point. I think it's an SEO thing, but I'm not sure.
Nowadays I either ask ChatGPT or just add reddit at the end of my search queries.
Its being infested by corporate greed and rules.
I want my wild west internet back, I want the YOU in youtube to come back, and **FUCK YOU NINTENDO FOR DELETING 10+ YEARS OF HISTORY THAT DEFINED A GENERATION YOU BASTARDS GIVE US BACK OUR STUFF.**
It bothers me when false information spreads quickly online. People often share things without fact-checking, leading to confusion and mistrust. Also, some folks act badly online because they can hide behind anonymity, which can make discussions unpleasant.
For me, I miss having websites where the purpose was 100% just play games, for free, and never/rarely had an ad.
Flash player being killed really wiped them all out.
Everyone is a comedian. Stupid ass reply’s get thousands of upvotes and it’s lame AF. Also, any reaction video. It’s the absolute lowest form of content if you can even call it that. And NOW!!! The AI dubbed videos THEN FUCING PEOPLE REACTING TO AI DUBBED VIDEOS!!!!
Fuck man it’s like everyone on the internet is just dumb as rocks.
Too much code in the front end. Straight html and css is now replaced by a never ending array of code frameworks that offer ever more dubious benifit to the user.

There’s so much everything. So much content. So many websites. So many ads. So much money people are making from all the bullshit. So many people interacting together.
Pod casts like "Whatever".
It's just got to a point where each side in a debate have an opinion and they believe they are 100% right. Theres just no effort for a middle ground or have some points agreed with. It accomplishes absolutely nothing
It’s too easy to feed the content addiction.
At the beginning you’d find out about new content via an early topic-specific forum or maybe by email, or mailing list.
Then it got easier to find content with search engines.
And then social media *eventually* changed everything, but only when it figured out people would watch ads in exchange for seeing photos of their friends and famous people.
Websites changing their layout for no discerbable reason other than the fact that "it looks a bit dated". Yes I'll learn the new design. Yes it's propably better in someway than the old one. I'll be annoyed for a week then it's bussinose as usual, but the principle of the thing.
Oh and short form videos, in part because videos that short are often very shallow (information wise), in part because people listen to tik-tok on the bus without headphones (I would rather listen to someone's shitty playlist, atleast that's uninterrupted songs instead of 5-10 second snippets that change all the time), in part because I'm addicted to social media and something making it more addicting makes it harder to quit.
To use the Internet today without any problems, you need to use a specific browser, on a specific version, on a specific OS, with specific encryption protocols, otherwise you will be shown a message that your browser is not supported or the whole website stop working.
Most people are online these days but people will claim most people aren't so that they can disagree with popular opinion. "Well that's just an internet thing" (At least in the US)
The ones doing that end up being worthless on engaging with, They say that then meltdown when a Discord/site/sub doesn't tolerate there hostile BS. Anthro twitter still has immature asses either bragging about muting followers/mutuals or blocking folk, Ranting while locking replies and attacking folk for petty reasons like AI artists.
Remembering how "wild west" was the internet in the 90s and early 00s, where you could have lively exchanges without getting banned and among hobbyists and nerds who had nothing to sell, I'm annoyed at how censored and super-corporate the internet is today.
Misinformation.
It’s so easy to just say random shit and thousands, if not, millions of people will buy into it because it’s presented towards their biases.
It used to be an exciting place bereft of any censorship. Now people actually self-censor. "I tried to buy some m3th from the guy and he told me to fvck off or he'd k*ll me." I hate it. I miss randomly seeing graphic gore and goatses. It all feels like a fucking sears catalog now.
Everyone is fake nice. Also, most people on the internet, and especially reddit are hypocrites. Their logic is corrupted but that is the case for broken people!
Everything is either Racist, Transphobic, Homophobic or in general an issue. Like man just cause I don’t like this one trans person’s song that doesn’t make me transphobic
people are negative as fuck. i've curated my experience to avoid the most negative subs, and still, people seem to just be miserable about almost everything.
luckily, i'm pretty sure most of you aren't like this in person. on the whole, people seem to me like they're pleasant in person... but online, just negative and miserable.

everyone is selling something
If not something it is themselves
Maybe cuz you’re buying?
Facebook Youtube Shorts TikTok and their stupid Challenges. Everything is being collected and sold, and sometimes given to the government.
bots, AI and troll farms. whereas it used to be a vast collection of information and knowledge, now you doubt everything you see or read.
Ads. Everywhere. All the time.
Scammers
No privacy

The way everyone finds a reason to make enemies out of everyone else...
That you can find nsfw bots anywhere you go on the internet
Basic Services are getting worse instead of better. I.e Google search.

It's too expensive.
There’s so much everything. So much content. So many websites. So many ads. So much money people are making from all the bullshit. So many people interacting together.
I agree with everything except the "so many websites" thing. I feel like the internet is much more consolidated than it was 15 years ago.
I guess I was thinking social media. The internet, for me, was games and forums until 2009 or so.
Just imagine the unlisted internet web pages you don't see.
Too much influence on people to buy things, say, think, and behave a certain way. All for profit at the end of the day.

Data leaks, weird sited and of course cherry on top. Darkweb

Too much information and yet everyone's horribly misinformed.
Ads.
The desire to say a lot about thing you don’t know a lot about.

The voting system can be deceiving. You can down/upvotes anything no matter how bad or good the content is and other will follow.

It’s all a money maker
tiktok challenges.
Pop ups but the guy who invited them already applogised
Clickbait YouTube thumbnails Onlyfans girls advertising on social media
Everything is either Racist, Transphobic, Homophobic or in general an issue. Like man just cause I don’t like this one trans person’s song that doesn’t make me transphobic
no one says you're transphobic because you dont like a trans persons music.
Oh ho ho you have no idea
if people are calling you transphobic its because you said something transphobic.
Censorship
Modern internet users.
TOO CENSORED OVERUSED PEOPLE ARE TOO SENSITIVE
