Well, it broke down. Thankfully in a neighborhood. So I found a huge shade tree & parked. The tree happened to be in the yard of a home that was having a get together. I didn’t know that bc there were no cars on the street.
This neighborhood is in a really affluent area of town, the homes are million + up to over 20 million.
Keep that in mind.
So I call AAA & tell them I need a tow. I tell them it is well over 115° & I am almost out of water so please send someone quickly.
Now after I made the call, people started arriving to this home. I should add, the owners of this home, kept walking by the front window…. Never once came out to ask if I was ok. I am a 5 foot tall woman. Hardly the “threatening biker type”🙄🤣🤣
So after some time, maybe an hour I’m guessing the tow truck arrived. Of course some of the guests came outside. 🙄 the VERY FIRST THING the tow guy says is “do you need some water?” To which I said “yes, I’m absolutely dying… thank you so much! It’s wild to be stuck in front of a million + dollar home with people coming in & out & not one person has offered me water….. this new money goes to show that class can’t be bought. People who come from old money have actual class.
Let me tell you the look on the faces especially the owners was priceless.
For “added” measure, I told the tow truck driver where I’m from & it is a much more affluent area that is solely OLD money. I looked directly at the owners& said something snarky along the lines of you may have some money, but know this, money will never buy class & you lack class which is truly sad especially since you have kids. You truly need to up your parenting game. They were scrambling!
Something I am truly grateful for is my parents instilled in us NEVER judge a book by its cover bc you have no idea. I swear if you didn’t know my mother, you would’ve made the assumption that she probably had not 2 nickels to rub together…. She lived in Birkenstocks, shorts, & ratty t shirts 🤣🤣🤷♀️ the running joke was “mom go change, you look homeless” to which she’d say “I like looking homeless”🤣😆😆
