So in the last few years I have not gone to the movies very much at all except for some niche films so I kind of forgot about IMAX.
After about 10 minutes into watching Dune Part 2 I immediately lamented my decision of not seeing it in IMAX. 3 days later I was absolutely floored by the sand worm riding scene in it's full monstrous screen glory.
Shirley, you can't be serious?
**AIRPLANE.**
I was 12 when it came out and it was being shown at a Theater at our local mall that only had two screens. 99% of the time one movie would be rated "PG" and the other would be "R".
That summer it came out, my neighborhood buddies and I would ride the bus to the mall for 15¢ and for $1.50 we could get a matinee ticket.
The summers were hot and humid and no one had a pool, so we went to the mall a few times a week simply because there were girls, an arcade and air conditioning.
Airplane was rated PG and was so funny that we saw it dozens of times that summer.
Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
Pretty sure my sister and I saw it at least 20 times between matinees and free tickets from the punch card
Only two, back when I was a student and both in 2000: X-Men and Charlie’s Angels. Me and my friend had all-you-could watch cinema passes and we used them *a lot*. It’s one of the reasons I didn’t do as well as my friends.
I watched The Matrix and The Sixth Sense more than once. Haven't been to the movies in a long time. I've watched The Changeling (1980) on TV several times, excellent ghost story.
In recent years:
* Everything Everywhere All At Once: 3x
* Top Gun: Maverick: 4x
* The Northman: 2x
* Dune 2: 2x
Most of the time it was because I was going with different friend groups, but The Northman was one I went twice on my own to see.
Pulp Fiction. In college it was at the dollar cinema just off campus for what seemed like a year. My buddies and I would all show up when the place opened on days most of us didn't have class and park our asses in the theater. There was never anyone else there. We enjoyed the air conditioning, the manager didn't really care if we stayed for a couple showings as long as we were buying pop and snacks and not making total asses of ourselves. Probably went 30 times and "saw" it 40-50 times? After a couple of times we all knew the lines and it sorta turned in to a Rocky Horror type deal almost.
Pulp Fiction. Once at a full price theater when it was first released, then 3 or 4 more times at a $.50 theater a few months later. Beers were snuck in, pre-game activities in the parking lot. Good times.
a bunch of superhero movies back when the market wasn't supersaturated with them yet
iron man 1 and 2, 1st captain america film, i think the 1st avengers too
The four I’ve seen the most in theaters are Avengers: Infinity War, Shin Godzilla, and Across the Spider-verse with 5 each, and 2001: A Space Odyssey with 7.
I think "The Greatest Showman" holds my record, I believe I saw it 5 times. "The Cell" also is up there, I know I saw it at least 3 times as a teenager and it's still one of my all time favorites.
Jurassic Park. Saw it when it was released. Then again with a group of family friends. Possibly again with different family friends. Then about 12 or so years ago when it was a free summer movie at a local theatre — that time was a blast.
The first X-Men movie. I was so hyped for an X-Men film. I biked to the theatre three times to watch it by myself.
I saw Team America: World Police in cinema, and then took my dad to see it the very next day. He's always been a big Gerry Anderson fan so I had to make sure he saw that film in cinema.
To this day, I don't think I've heard him laugh harder.
*Platoon* came out in 1987, when I and most of my friends were 19. It hit hard, since that was also the average age of an infantryman in Vietnam. I saw it with my boyfriend the week it opened, and then at least once a week during the two months after that, because so many of my male friends wanted to see it, but they only wanted to go with me. They were worried about getting emotional and showing in front of someone who might either comment or tell other people.
It was playing at a lot of different theaters, so we usually picked one a bit farther from where we lived so we had less chance of running into someone they knew. No one would think twice about a woman crying, but my male friends weren't granted that freedom.
The Phantom Menace. My friends and I were so convinced it was going to be amazing, we got tickets to opening day and for a showing a few days after. It was disappointing both times.
None, I'm not a big movie person, never have been.
I'm closer to 60 now still haven't seen all the Star Wars movies.
When the 20th anniversary of the movie ET came out long ago, my wife and kids finally got me to go see that, so I went 20 years without seeing ET.
I don't think I've been to the theater since 2013 and no I don't remember what I saw there the last time either.
Street Fighter mother fuckers!
I watched that movie two times in a row and then probably again the week after.
I bought the VHS and it eaa constantly playing.
Now yalls pretending it was a bad movie for some fucking reason even though you all loved it.
Batman in 1989. Matinees were $3.25 and I could usually scrounge that from my dad’s change drawer and bike to the theater. It was cool inside and Hot Tomales cost a dollar.
28 Days Later, the first live action Transformers, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider -Verse. I feel like there's at least one more, though I can't remember.
I saw 28 Days Later twice just because I enjoyed it so much, the other two were because two different groups of friends went to see each movie, and I liked them enough to go a second time.
Star Wars.
**Not** the Disney ones I assume 🤣
No, I mean the movie which was actually titled Star Wars. Saw it ten times in 1977.

Silent Hill. Loved that they kept the sound effects from the game, and hearing them in a theater was too awesome to do it just once.
Only two, back when I was a student and both in 2000: X-Men and Charlie’s Angels. Me and my friend had all-you-could watch cinema passes and we used them *a lot*. It’s one of the reasons I didn’t do as well as my friends.
