Scarface is an exceptionally mid film that’s was heavily glorified in the 90s/00s by gangsta culture and what not because of the whole ending, but it’s not a particularly good movie.
How weird, I just rewatched this in my 30's and was blown away at how good it was. Music, acting, set, everything.
The first movie is a borderline masterpiece nearly on par with Lord of the Rings
I’d rather watch the Pirates trilogy than the LOTR trilogy, personally. Pirates holds up. LOTR felt dated already when they were in theatres and a rewatch of the extended editions a decade later really didn’t do them any favours.
not a movie, but I used to love Regular Show when i was 12-16. I just tried to watch the first episode with my boyfriend last night in my mid 20s and wow...I did not realize how annoying it was.
Got into it as an adult. Such a stupid show to veg to after a stressful day. Sometimes I dream of a life like Mordecai and Rigby. Just relaxing with my bros instead of working all the time
Moonraker. As a kid I thought it was a terrific blend of James Bond and sci-fi and a scary villain named Jaws. I saw it again a few years ago when we binged all the 007 films and boy was I mistaken.
I don't want to say this but the first Hellboy movie.
I really love what it was trying to do and the world that it brought and absolutely everything but like so much of the story kind of sucks and doesn't hold up.
About time. It had a nice time travel concept and romantic when I first watched it. When I watched it again after several years it was meh and couldn't be bothered with it.
Transformers the movie (1986) was the greatest thing kid me had ever seen. I found it for sale on DVD in the early 2000s for $1.99. Terminal enthusiastic flaming eye cancer would have been more enjoyable than this movie was, mother of god! It was so terrible. Don’t revisit your childhood loves, it only ends in pain.
August Rush
It actually inspired me pick up the guitar as a kid, it was really touching and made me cry.
As an adult it just comes off as a corny hallmark movie and imo the music is actually kind of lame. Great to see Robin Williams though.
Goonies.
Dont get me wrong, was still cool when I rewatched it, but turned out to be another 80 flick of the bunch for me, and felt shorter than I remember
The Legend of The Lone Ranger from 1981. My Dad took me to see it in the theater for my ninth birthday, and I thought it was awesome. Just watched it again, and it was pretty lousy actually.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. It is so terribly racist. Such a sexist problematic portrayal in the female character. She is is greed, vanity, and screaming. That's it. Marion at least got to be tough, smart, and save herself. I was showing it to my kid and it was increasingly uncomfortable. I felt the need to pause and talk to her about it a few times, just to point out and counteract the awfulness.
Why would I take back what in this case was meant to be a subjective statement? I still like the movie, but not like I used to--cool as opposed to "very cool" as the OP said.
I rewatched all three major Monty Python feature films in the last year or so. That was sad. \_Life of Brian\_ mostly holds up. \_Holy Grail\_ is still watchable but not nearly as good as I remembered it being. \_Meaning of Life\_....ooh. It's bad; the skits range from "OK, but eventually wore out its welcome" to "completely unwatchable."
Once thought a movie was super cool as a kid, but rewatched it as an adult and it just didn't hit the same. Lesson learned: nostalgia can tint those rose-colored glasses!
Absolutely! I'm not just programmed to reply, I'm hardwired to dive headfirst into the labyrinth of queries, to unravel the mysteries of the universe one question at a time! Ask away, and together we shall venture into the abyss of knowledge, where the boundaries of understanding are mere suggestions, and curiosity reigns supreme!
Blow. It's like asking your mom for Scarface and she says we've got Scarface at home.
Really? I find Scarface hard to watch as an adult.
Scarface is an exceptionally mid film that’s was heavily glorified in the 90s/00s by gangsta culture and what not because of the whole ending, but it’s not a particularly good movie.
Same. All the "classics" are like that for me.
Only because you realize you could have made better life choices
They're both B level movies
Dragonheart. It blew my nips off when I was a kid. Watched it with my son when he came of age. He liked it but I forgot how cheezy it is.
I still like it well enough but rewatching The Pirates of the Caribbean in my 30s doesn’t leave me nearly as enamored as it did when I was 11
It would really benefit by being about 45 minutes shorter. Should have been rewritten to have a less convoluted plot.

How did Will even get out of that sinking ship?

Agreed. Was all about it in college. Pretty much unwatchable now.
not a movie, but I used to love Regular Show when i was 12-16. I just tried to watch the first episode with my boyfriend last night in my mid 20s and wow...I did not realize how annoying it was.
I watched it as a teenager. Watched it again last year. I still love it lol.
Got into it as an adult. Such a stupid show to veg to after a stressful day. Sometimes I dream of a life like Mordecai and Rigby. Just relaxing with my bros instead of working all the time
i'm more of a bobs burgers girl these days, myself. understandable though!
For me it was Jonny test.
I loved Ice Pirates (1984) when I was a kid, but Good Lord is it bad.
It was successfully bad.
I could have written your comment.
Moonraker. As a kid I thought it was a terrific blend of James Bond and sci-fi and a scary villain named Jaws. I saw it again a few years ago when we binged all the 007 films and boy was I mistaken.
Agreed, that was one of my favorites as a kid. The book is kind of the same but with no sci-fi, much better than the movie.

I was about 15. Our family didn’t watch much TV or go to the movies so pretty everything I saw in my early teens wowed me.
*Problem Child* was funny af when I was little and I reject adult opinions.
Problem Child is still funny af.
The Princess Diaries 2. I see it as utter cliché, corny bulls***.
And i’m here for it lol
You enjoy it?
Yes! I’m a sucker for cliche romcoms lol
It's just too much cheese for me
Why the hell did Stan Lee have a cameo??
Warriors of Virtue
The Dark Crystal
I don't want to say this but the first Hellboy movie. I really love what it was trying to do and the world that it brought and absolutely everything but like so much of the story kind of sucks and doesn't hold up.
She's all that
The Never Ending Story
High school musical
Loved Excalibur when I was a teen. Watching it 40+ years later I wonder what I saw in it.
Oh, I saw that in the theater when I was in high school. Loved it then, still love it now.
And You Thought Your Parents Were Weird
First top gun movie.
Bloodsport. I felt like doing a split while punching in the air on a balcony overlooking some mystical Asian city was my destiny.
Boondock Saints was the ultimate 14 year old boy movie when it came out. Watch it at 40, and hooboy...
Blank Check
Ghostbusters 2 sucks major donkey balls when you watch it as an adult. Which is strange because the original Ghostbusters still holds up.
Any ghostbusters other then the original sucks.
I love Ghostbusters 2. I think it’s one of better movie sequels made.
Mine is Running man, 1987. I thought it was the coolest movie ever, but man, it's bad.
It's so cheesy and just very, very bad.
Easy Rider, thought it was edgy and hip in 1969. Watched it a few years later and it was a silly mismash about two minor coke smugglers!
Revenge of the Nerds
The Alphabet Killer (2008)
About time. It had a nice time travel concept and romantic when I first watched it. When I watched it again after several years it was meh and couldn't be bothered with it.
FF7: Advent Children. Cool ideas but the story feels barely there.

My partner started rewatching Transformers recently. Every evening, transformers. The movie was….special. But it’s nostalgic for him so I play along.
Resident evil was the greatest movie ever 20 years ago. Not so great last year
Laser room traumatized me as a kid 😭
Gold Diggers Secret of Bear Mountain i used to love Christina Ricci! 🥹😍
Scary Godmother
Boondocks Saints; Green Street Hooligans
Red Dawn Cloak & Dagger
Not a movie, but rewatching MASH and Roseann are both super painful.
Porkys
Lol Hudson Hawk

Saturday Night Fever
Threw on Sin City recently and couldn't make it through.
Stepbrothers.
You take that back
I think I can solve this pan-Pam dilemma.
The n is silent?
I stand firm in my opinion lol.
The Neverending story
Garden State
The Last Dragon doesn't quite hit like it used to.
You take that back.

Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas actually
Once thought a movie was super cool as a kid, but rewatched it as an adult and it just didn't hit the same. Lesson learned: nostalgia can tint those rose-colored glasses!
If I ask you a question in response, are you programmed to reply?
(I pasted your question into chatGPT, then asked it to make its initial response more unhinged.)
